- In Episode 6 of our Rugby Ascendant Podcast series, we analyse the important moments that swung the second test towards Ireland, and we talk about THAT tackle, and whether the officials got it right or not.
We also discuss the Currie Cup which is heating up and the Major League Rugby semi-finals coming up this weekend.
Moments that mattered: Where did Ireland win it against Boks? PLUS: Currie Cup &Major League Rugby! - Спорт
Hilarious to hear the SA analysts saying they were too rough and crying to the officials considering that this has always been the Boks playbook
@@boatman6865 Never said it was too rough. We said we didn't like being on the receiving end and were surprised by that.
You drunken Irishmen are too funny. Posting lies does not change what was said in the video. No such claims were made. You should consult an audiologist.
If you can only criticise the opposition and praise your own side, don’t pretend you’re analysts. You’re fans, and don’t have anything. Interesting to say. The fact is SA had the chance to show your number one on your own terms and on home soil.and you blew it. Well done Ireland.
Yes, we are SA supporters. No, we did not just criticise the opposition, in fact we put it out there right at the start that they deserved the win. They beat us physically and strategically and they hung on to grab the win. That takes a special team, which we acknowledged. However, being SA supporters we want to talk about where it went wrong for our side, what we could do differently and what lies ahead. Which I am sure, Irish supporters do as well. It's the nature of the beast.
@@annettekolb3103 Not apologising! Nothing to apologise for, just made it clear that we are not begrudging Ireland their victory but we are first and foremost a South African channel and we look at our team's performance first and foremost.
@@annettekolb3103 can we talk about kolbe and PSTD trying to cheat at the end, pathetic
Never mention the attempt at cheating at the end claiming obstruction. That’s not rugby
@@SteveWarleeyou don’t have to watch the show
You have very selective moments that matter and not mentioned:
1. Cian Healy held up over the try line.
2. Ref gave free 3 points to SA for an imaginary knock by Calvin Nash. Nash clearly didnt even touch the ball, the SA young 15 did.
@@markmacken1 Those were also important but we looked at it from a SA point of view. If we were to look at it from an Irish POV, it would necessarily be different
Annette, moenie die mense aanvat nie. Ek soek nie Twitter tipe gevegte hierso nie. Niemand wen so iets nie.
@@megafoonsport jammer mw hou net nie van as mense net 1 min luister en besluit het waaroor julle gaan praat. Skies duime op hok
So if you want ALL the moments that mattered, do you commit to watching the program for 90 minutes? There were moments that mattered in the Georgia game too. But that, like your complaint, is not germane to discussing moments that mattered for South Africa.
No one can say Doris was intentionally trying to end Marx’s career. It was definitely a card offence but Doris isn’t that kind of player. Some ref decisions went against Ireland and let’s not forget the obstruction claims at the end - absolute joke claims.
The comment was "HE COULD HAVE ENDED MARX's career." Stop LYING, start LISTENING. Hearing what YOU want to hear to feel aggrieved and self-righteous is silly.
@@ColonelChrisWyatt - it was clearly said that doris did it 'intentionally' - that's the point being made. Did snyman in the first test deliberately cause concussion? - nobody believes that. But both actions were dangerous and doris and ryan got off fairly lightly.
@@ColonelChrisWyatt he said it was intentional, that’s the point
First game SA got all the 50/50 calls moments that matter...Dorris no more intentionally went to injure marks than snyman who knocked out little Craig Casey was intentional..rugby incidents.
Awesome listening to your chat, many thanks!
I will take a lot of stick for this comment, but I agree with Chris - I also think the Irish are the real winners of this series. As a Bok fan it hurts immensely to see a Bok pack manhandled in that first half, especially after we scrummed them into submission for that penalty try at Loftus. We need to learn to pitch up mentally for all games, especially after a big win. It happened against the All Blacks a few years ago when we lost in Johannesburg.
Point 1. He was attempting to make his knee touch the ground and therefore release the ball.... not sure if you've ever played rugby mate.
Boks are Number 1. All of us in Ireland know that. We barely won that game and lots went right at the end. I lpve these games. The last 4 contests have been decided by 1 score.
I think f it is more difficult to dominate these days than 10-15 years ago. The top 5 teams could beat each other on any given day.
Moments that matter ye couldent score a try lol
@@kevincallaghan3212 Big worry for us. One of those moments was Kolbe dropping a ball that would have been a certain try though!
@megafoonsport how can you say it would have been a certain try . He still had to get past Osborne
Fair point. They could not.
Also very strange to hear and BOK fan complain about intentional, seriously.
Ye stated ye weren't criticizing the refereeing decisions and yet all through the cast you've done nothing but criticize the referee. Very balanced
'The egregious breaking of the rules' wasn't, in fact, tolerated!!!! Doris was given a yellow card, which flipped the game on its head and brought the Boks right back into it. The suggestion that Doris deliberately set out to injure Marx's leg is disgraceful. Professional players, unless you have a dreadful rep for it, do not set out to deliberately break other players limbs. Why would they? A red card there would have meant the game was over and the series lost. Why would the captain of a team do that? It was a clumsy, sloppy challenge that deserved the yellow. Interestingly, Marx was able to finish the game and should be good for the Rugby Championship. The same cannot be said for both Casey and Sheehan. Casey was knocked unconscious by Snyman and looks like Sheehan could be out for the whole year. Great podcast but you need to watch the double standards.
"The suggestion that Doris deliberately set out to injure Marx's leg is disgraceful"
Why do you lie? The comment was "HE COULD HAVE ENDED MARX's career," not the LIE you post. Could is in the subjunctive case. Pay attention.
@@ColonelChrisWyatt Huge difference between 'could' have and
'wanted' to break Marx's leg!!! Morally, those two positions belong on two different planets!!! We need to look at intent here. Did Doris 'intend' to break Marx's leg and possibly end his career or was his tackle reckless which 'could' have ended Marx's career? If a player intends to break a players leg, he should not just get a red but should be banned for life. No place in the sport for that. Unfortunately, a narrative seems to be building that Doris's clear out was intended to break his leg. I'm Irish and a former player and we just don't have a rugby culture here where players deliberately intend to injure players. Stadiums here stay quiet for opposition player's penalties, ffs!!!
Doris has no previous as a dirty player. We have to give him the benefit of the doubt. A yellow was the right punishment in the end because the refs/TMO also agreed it was reckless only. It also makes no sense for a captain to destroy his teams chances of winning the game and levelling the series by getting himself a red card. Agree?
Would you have been happy that Ireland lost two players in one go thereby destroying a fabulous match up? Seems to me you are looking for any reason to justify losing this game. What about the first game when SA got so many questionable decisions and won as a result? Dont choke on that bitterness pill!!
This is bull lreland did everything wrong and South Africa play clean bull. What about the the try that wasn't given in the first we lost and won the second just deal with it I know the South African fans aren't like this and took the defeat well just like we did in the first
ireland won by 'negating' springbok speed and making the game a 'slugfest'!! lord above.
The Currie Cup was 15 years too late to say they were the oldest domestic competition. Be honest!
That guy in the full beard is not really where its at. Chip on the shoulder guy. From Ireland.
Guys for 1 second let's ask ourselves why rassie did say for the 2nd test give mannie the 15 he have more experience that was he position sharks bulls he change fully at stomers why bring shacha and through him under the bus I mean we say he's young and all this just think 1 second mannie were never giving a change from young he was on bench for sharks and bulls so after stomers he were then giving chance to play 10....I personally blame it on our system that was bad 3 years back
This Santa Claus has wonderful white hair 😆
Awesome pod cast guys.
Nice banter without any niggle.
Huge knowledge of rugby across the globe. Nice to hear that rugby is growing in the US. For rugby to be a truly global sport we need a strong league in America with US $ backing it.
Pathetic.
Pollards pass was not perfect by any means, it was a very low pass below Kolbe's knees, and it was a very hard, low pass...catchable but quite difficult.
