It looks he is improvising on apper. But i mean this on bad way. I would like to know if LIzst still aproves his own music here. He revised non stop many of this manuscripts as well later in life, no?
Your question is hardly relevant, considering that from 1863 (when he wrote this piece) Liszt increasingly devoted himself to religion and writing church music, e.g. reflecting (like in this piece) on the music of his great predecessor Johann Sebastian Bach
