Was lucky enough to see Archie Shepp and Horace Parlan, in a duet format, just before Horace passed away, probably the best 'jazz' concert I've ever attended. Both were fantastic and very kind to everyone around!
@@stephencarroll230 indeed, and he did a concert last fall at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. Mr. Shepp remains a force. His tenor and his voice still powerful.
definitely a low point for Archie.Great lineup Bowie Jarvis Parlan....is that Richard Davis on Bass? unfortunately wine and bullshit were the order of the day.

Lester had a lot of great music left in him when he left. Shepp is still with us, a master but barely active. These are two of of the greats.
Barely active? He still plays regularly in France, where he now lives. He has some great projects in the last few years.
