    So beautiful! And I'm so happy to see after all these years that there is film of these performances. Montereux 1 & 2 were albums I listened to constantly back when they were new!

    All five musicians are terrific here, but it's a great pleasure to see and hear Dave Burrell.

      An underappreciated giant -- his Actuel/BYG recordings are incredible !

    This makes me float on air. Charles Greenlee's tone on trombone is raspy and perfect.

    Si, questa musica mi accompagna da quando avevo 13 o 14 anni... Ha influenzato la mia vita, il mio modo di ascoltare la musica. Ignoravo esistesse un filmato e questa scoperta ha in un certo senso, reso il tutto, più completo. Ho visto alcuni di questi artisti, primo fra tutti, Archie ed anche il grande Brown, in concerti diversi. Credo che il duetto tra Brown ed Harris, in Miss Toni, sia di grande bellezza. Peccato davvero, manchi il lungo finale, dove il gruppo gioca sul tema.

    Does anybody know where I can find the score of 'Crucificado' by David Murray?

    • @DarkeningSkies1
      @DarkeningSkies1 4 года назад

      That piece was written by Dave Burrell (Archie's piano player here), if that makes the search easier. If you are seeking a transcription of a cover of the piece by David Murray, I'm not sure.

    Macielle, not really. It is a composed piece with a standard form- one of my favorite bossa novas!

    I think that the second composition is by Eric Dolphy.

      No, it definitely is by Charles Majid Greenlee .

      Nahum and Maura, you are right, I now see it's the Dolphy composition.

      Wrong again: It's credited to Greenlee on the Dolphy LP!
