It's really crazy to see how prices have bounced around over the years, I'm only 28 but I remember back when a BIG box of cereal cost 3 bucks at most, now a normal size is 4.50
    It's nuts
Slightly unrelated to the video, but in the spirit of money saving I actually had a question for you about soldering. I just came from your button replacement video from 2 years ago but I was curious if you might could do a video on "external" buttons? The premise is that I have a broken headset my friend gave me to fiddle with, and a broken set of Onn wireless earbuds (my mom ran over them 😂) I want to make the headset wireless but also shift the buttons away from the board itself a little bit for better access and form factor.
(Or in much simpler terms I want the pcb in one area for the charging port to be accessible but I want the buttons up above it a inch or two on the headset rather than on the edge)
Unlike your button video though my bluetooth pcb buttons are on pads and not through-holes.
I was curious how could I wire new buttons to those existing pads? Do I need a wire on each prong of the replacement button wired to each corner of the pads where the existing button prongs (barely anything to speak of) are attached, or is there some other simpler way? (I've been told my idea is doable but finicky "micro-soldering" for a novice such as myself, I only did my first solder yesterday fixing a Xbox controller for that same friend mentioned above)
Thanks in advance for any help :) (and for taking the time to read all that garble 😂)
