I'm an amputee aka with similar issue. The catch 22 scenario of having to choose between a higher to the groin socket brim allowing more stability, the price for that meaning more pain (severe pain), versus a lower brim and less stability. We've already lowered the brim and busy testing it, there is more ability and function that way, but it needs to be lowered more and some kind of baby smooth padding added to the brim to protect skin damage from the hard brim. The hard brim was also narrowed in the hope that it will flex more, but that didn't work. It's not flexing enough to reduce pain and less "lip" now to the brim is causing more digging in to the soft flesh and again skin damage after lowering and narrowing the brim.
My prosthetist is loath to lower the brim more on this hard IC socket because he doesn't want me to lose more alignment stability.
I'm busy watching YT videos to see what solutions I can find for this, because my prosthetist wants to make a new socket and try again, but he is relying on my feedback.
I'm not a prosthetist myself, but now finding myself having to look for solutions to help my prosthetist.
Their is skin breakage on the ischial area of the butt cheek and in my groin area.
I lead a busy lifestyle with lots of responsibilities as a caregiver (very physical job) and going to classes at night with many stairs, no elevator and doing all this through the pain..
