  • The weather is starting to warm up in Colorado which means one thing for us here at Built2Wander - it’s time to hit the trails! After finishing our 3rd Gen Raptor build for the 2022 SEMA Show, we spent the winter months making some tweaks and fine-tuning the build. We finally got a chance to get off-road and put our Raptor build through its paces at high-speeds through whoops and other sections of uneven terrain.
In this episode, we revisit the Evil Manufacturing long travel suspension system on our 3rd Gen Ford Raptor. We start by discussing what suspension travel is, and why it matters. From there we highlight some key differences between a mid-travel suspension system and a long-travel suspension system, identifying components that make our suspension system unique such as Bilstein Shock Absorbers and upper J-Arms from Evil MFG. Finally, we put our truck to the test by hitting large whoops and uneven terrain at speeds of 20 MPH, 40 MPH, and 70 MPH. We show first-hand how our Raptor handles demanding terrain at different speeds and find out just how capable this truck really is!

Any issues with getting the electronic suspension buttons/drive mode dial to mesh with the long travel?

Do you lose clearance with the lower control arm?
Better on the desert but worse in the jungle perhaps?

Would love to see you measuring the wheel travel. Sweet truck!

Yeah, usable wheel travel and big travel numbers often get misconstrued. Likely this truck is a clean 16" front and 20" rear strapped.
But for the money personally I would buy the SVC kit or just buy something off racedesert with a cage

19 in the front. 22 in the rear, he mentions it in the previous video @@Rommer2258

Poor raptor needs a cage if you’re going 60-70mph off road
