I was there, and in the video...I was right in front along the pool, 2 feet away... my friend won two sets of tix and we drove out to the Hamptons and waited at a bar for an hour or so.... then were escorted down the sand a ways to the beachhouse and it was another half hour so before they played Creep, then they played it again, then again and three more time to get the coverage to make the video----then they play Anyone Can Play Guitar and Thom dove in the pool (in the other video you can see Thom get out dripping wet and a producer tell him he has to stop performing or risk being electrocuted).... So they stopped playing. MTV VJ Kennedy was there to interview a few fans afterward and my buddy was going back and forth with her about the commercials (at the time) where she was voted least popular VJ, she was getting pissed.... My buddy put his back to the pool to try get her to push him in so he could grab her in with in BUT a security guard grabbed his wrist and he went in.... The guard then pretended to help her past and then pushed Kennedy in.... "MY CLOGS!" she yelled as she came up... we laughed at her, she got pissed and started in on my buddy again "go back to working minimum wage asshole" she said as they escorted her away in a towel.... true story...
Vegetable IS a great song. So is the album Pablo Honey. Real OG radiohead fans know. Youngsters don't know what they missed out on, too brainwashed on mumble crap.
@@Music-tg5is weird most radiohead fans say that Pablo honey sucks. It doesn't really suck, it's just not original, something that any alternative rock band from the 90s could've done, in my opinion. While Ok computer, Kid A, In Rainbows are waaay better
@@HumansFreshlyBorn Not if you were a fan from the very start (not saying that to try to sound elitist, it's just reality). 'Pablo Honey' to 'The Bends' was a very natural progression. 'The Bends' to 'OK Computer' was a more stark shift in their style, perhaps even more than from 'Ok Computer' to 'Kid A'.
@@quantumpiss4206 Well 'most' Radiohead fans discover 'Pablo Honey' retrospectively (i.e. 'after the fact' - not 'as it was released'). Perhaps, that colours their opinion, by expecting something that it isn't, based upon the band's newer albums. Now, you say that 'any alternative rock (i.e. 'indie') band from the 90s' could have created. But, that wasn't the case was it? i.e. Radiohead were not just 'any other indie band' ... so there was obviously something 'extra' that these guys had that the other run-of-the-mill acts, who are not still going and innovating lacked. I'm sorry that you don't hear it or regard is as a special and important album. Realise, I'm not disagreeing that in superficial style and presentation 'Pablo Honey' sounds more generic than their later albums were (a sign of the times). But, the songwriting itself is still genius, and not something 'just anyone' could do. For example, someone who is introduced to this band with 'Kid A' is probably expecting something more akin to that in style as they explore the band's back catalogue. But, that is not how the band started. I would not try to force anyone to like something they don't, but don't diminish something or it's importance to those who do appreciate it, just because it's not your particular cup of tea. Yes, I was into indie bands in the 90s. So, I naturally gravitated to one of the very best indie bands around at the time, Radiohead and loved their music. Obviously, they have evolved over time into something far greater than what they began as. But that doesn't negate the great work that put them on the map. Well, that's my opinion anyway.
