I was at Boldt Castle in September and while it was originally cancelled, it is pretty much completed today, with only the the top 2 floors in an uncompleted state, There is much more than the castle there as well. It is absolutely gorgeous and a wedding was occurring on the grounds as we were there. I highly recommend visiting it. The basement was a shock as tunnels go all through the island.

I went to Boldt Castle in June 2022 and, I agree, it is a very beautiful property! There was a wedding going on the day I was there also.

Apparently there was a typo in the script. The Scottish memoral's foundation weighs closer to 600 tons than it does 6 tons. 1 cubic meter of granite weighs 1.65 tons

At 07:32 "With a stone foundation that weighs six tons..." has got to be a gross error! That would be the concrete equivalent of only three cubic yards, which is practically nothing.

I wondered if you would include the Superconducting Supercollider of Waxahachie, Texas. At the time, I lived in nearby Dallas, and some of my relatives lived in Waxahachie, which would have been encircled by the Supercollider. The main reason the SSC was never finished was that the Texas Congressional delegation, especially Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison, managed to annoy the other members so much that they cancelled the Texas project in retaliation.

Would need to be reprocessed to remove "neutron poisons" in spent fuel. These are isotopes that absorb neutrons and prevent fission reactions.

"Four major operations are needed to sufficiently decontaminate the fuel stream of an [LFTR]. These are fluorination, sorption of UF6, vacuum distillation, and salt reconstitution. The fertile stream requires fluorination, sorption of UF6, and for maximum effectiveness includes protactinium removal. These operations represent the most straightforward processing for achieving a high-performance [liquid-fluoride thorium reactor]. The technology for fluorination and sorption is well-developed (through the operation of the fluoride volatility pilot plant at ORNL); the other operations have been demonstrated in small engineering experiments and/or in the laboratory. The process for each stream is capable of economically recovering more than 99.9% of the uranium, 94% or more of the LiF-BeF2 in the fuel carrier, and more than 99% of the LiF in the fertile stream." - ORNL, 1967.

You can look across the river to see the foundation of the other half of the project.
