And this right here is just one of the reasons why we love the corporal. Original ideas and locations that no one on RUclips has ever done before. Once again outstanding AF
If I may Corporal, are you going to eat that? I'm 2:14 into the wilderness, and man did I want to order a pizza, eat one slice, covered in mushrooms, throw the rest away and watch the rest of the video. I just don't think people understand rank these days. 3:08 I see possible shelter, possible tools, but first I look for a signal mirror. At the bottom right, above the replay button on the video, I see a triangle where it looks like something kicked out a den. Usually, when I see shit like this, I do my best to avoid it. Glass for a signal mirror, and figure out how in the hell whatever it is there got to where it is now.
🏞🏕🌲🌳🌳 This kind of scenario, camping using whatever has been found and foraged, has happened plenty of times throughout history, both wartimes and peace. Just poverty, people do this all the time in any country pretty much.
definitely a fan of this shelter, because dump sites like that are everywhere in this country. represents a very real survival situation that a lot of folks find themselves in when they become homeless.
Hey Shawn I just wanted to let you know it was an honor to meet you in person. It’s good to know you’re the same person on and off the camera I can tell the humbleness and how to down to earth you are, that’s something that most people are lacking in today’s world. I don’t know if you remember what I said about you’ll never be talked about from someone doing more than you only less. I look forward to attending the pathfinder course next year. Keep these videos coming cause someone someday will regret criticizing you cause you teach life saving advice if someone was ever to get lost in the woods
Jed Cobb I agree 😊. I can't believe that I'd stopped watching his channel for a while. Now I'm back watching his videos again. This is one of the best channels on RUclips that covers these types of topics.
This is what my wife and I like about your videos Shawn. Using whatever is around you to make shelter , food and fire wherever you are. Thanks for the inspiration!
Thanks for showing us how to “make do” if we get caught unprepared. Thanks for suffering through this kind of thing to teach us. I’m sending this to my family and friends to show them how “wonderful “ it’s going to be if they keep putting off getting prepared! My father, who was in the navy, used to say, if you want to live follow a marine! Thanks for another great video!
I love this one Corporal. So many people out there do these survival off the land videos but fail to use the “trash” that litters the woods. In my area there are tons of old homesteads and old trash dumps from the 30’s thru 60’s so much of that old material can be invaluable in a survival situation. Great idea for this video. In my opinion it’s way better than a knife only vid. Thanks Corporal for all the knowledge and motivation. Semper Fi Marine.
Oh yeah that's gotta happen!!! That would be amazing AF. I'm excited lol lol. Doesn't matter to me on video length, I'll take what I can get. Thanks for your time
This 20min format feels comfortable, especially for relatively simpler builds like this. More complex stuff or longer treks with more non-repeated content might merit the longer format for sure, but for something of this complexity, it works out pretty great in feel, at least to my eye.
A bit of a departure from your normal bushcraft type videos - and this is a good thing. Always some new skills to learn and experiences to absorb. Just got back from a 2 night camping adventure with my 2 sons and grandson - which was inspired by watching your "overnight" videos and your early knot tying instructional videos. We have much to learn and refine and will continue to watch your videos for inspiration, ideas and recipes... Keep up the good work. 👍
This may have been a garbage dump survival theme but it brought back a million great memories for me Corp. This is exactly what my cousin and I did growing up and running wild in the hills of West Virginia on a regular basis. Just kids having fun but we could build some great shelters. Several kept us nice and warm in the winter. I'm grown now and he's since passed away so thank you for bringing up some great memories and some of the greatest times of my life.
I really enjoyed this video. I like the longer format, as it doesn't feel rushed, but I won't complain about the quality of the content. The principles of survival don't change, only the ways of satisfying them. That said, damn, this one was camping rough. Thanks for the video. Be safe and well!
This is one of your more interesting episodes Corporal. It demonstrates the difference between a resourceful can do attitude and the i can't do it mentality. Anyone else would have looked around and said, there's nothing here but a garbage dump but you actually made a comfy camp site out nothing. PS Keep this up and I just might hit that full notification button...
Man soon as I seen the intro I was waiting to see Oscar the grouch make a appearance. That is a great scavenger set up. One mans trash is another mans treasure.
Really enjoyed this video. I would like to see more like it. Just the kind of situation we all believe we WON'T be in, but easily could find ourselves in. Thank you for this. I like the 20 min format. Very much looking forward to your knife when it drops. Will want more than one!
Outstanding. I've always liked your shelters but thought of them as multiday use given the effort required to construct. This is more like a one or two nights for when I'm spending three to six months making my way back to the family home 1000+ miles after SHTF. Absolutely love this.
Maybe it's because I miss my father and x military veteran of Vietnam and maybe it's because I love my freedoms maybe it's because I just love hearing another 7 days has passed. But every episode The corporal puts on makes me feel like my father is still here with me and I'm being taught a new lesson in life rest his soul it's time for another solo overnighter in the woods I really respect my freedoms and I love every video corporal Kelly puts on ! Respected and honor. Outstanding AF video !
Your innovation and improvisation is among the best on RUclips and anywhere else. Your videos can even help the highly trained learn new things. The Corner is one of my favorite spots to come and visit because I know it is always a top of the line experience. Thank you for your service and all you do Shawn.
Outstanding! You won't see this elsewhere and it could be a reality for someone. Totally usefully. I continue to learn something on each video. I like your longer videos but happy with whatever you provide. Again this was a great demonstration on how to survive without gear beyond EDC. Great job Corporal. You really do a lot for us and it is greatly appreciated.
Hello Kelly Out of all the bush craft videos out there, you are the best. I am 71 years old and enjoyed my young day’s doing the things you do. However I did not come close to doing as well as you do. You have succeeded putting a modern twist on the old ways. Please keep it up Semper Fi
During my ten years I was amazed to find all sorts out in the Sahara that I used to make my life easier...a small tin box with a lid which I made pizzas in! Bread I made in the sand of course. A nomad I came across had found an abandoned car (amateur Paris - Dakar) that tourists had crashed, took out all of the wiring and made a 50m cable to be able to draw water from a well whose water had diminished somewhat...with this and a collapsible bucket he fed his twenty camels and himself with much needed water.
Really liking the recycled junk house , it reminds me of when I was a kid building dens in the woods ... my son will love this one . Thanks for vid mate 🇺🇸🇬🇧👍
All gear on the Amazon influencer page or self-reliance outfitters page, merchandise on Teespring - or at any handy garbgage dump. Seriously, this video goes beyond outstanding AF - it's on a whole new level. True post-apocalyptic stuff for when your bug-out bag runs out. All you need now are either Zombies or crazies in modified pick-ups and muscle cars. Keep it up. 👍👍👍👍
I like this video, because of the great ideas on what to look for if you become lost or stranded and how to survive with materials you could actually find in the field, or even an urban area. As for the video times, I like the longer versions. Grab a cup of coffee sit back and watch them at least couple of times. I would really like to see you do an updated version of your Urban Get Home Bag video to get a idea on what gear you are currently using and any new tips you might have thought to include nowdays if any. Thanks for another great video.
I think the fire pit and heat reflector wheelbarrow was inspired. The bed looked functional but considering you only had a knife to begin with I am impressed you built the shelter you did. Awesome video.
First, the 20 minute format seems to work well because you continue to provide good content that is also entertaining. Second, the kind of resourcefulness you demonstrated here is the kind of teaching that is not only interesting, but a real confidence builder if one ever finds themselves in an emergency situation. Loved it!!
The one thing i always have on me is a good knife. I was a subariner for 4 years and a merchant seamen for 26 years never walked onto the deck without a knife. Difference between life and death caught in a line overboard u can cut free. You have a knife I believe u can survive anything.
This video is very good for learning how to convert trash to useful survival stuff that could save one’s life if in an unfortunate situation unprepared! Outstanding af as usual! And you just proved you can survive without coffee or bacon!!
Wow. Really creative and really uncomfortable. Definitely a great video along apocalyptic/ major disaster lines: make do with what you got. Outstanding food for thought.
GREAT VIDEO!!!!!! It's sad to say that it's very possible that some time in the not so far away future that people will be trying to survive using trash dumps and anything else they can find to survive, you might have been able to find some dandelion and or chicory roots and roasted them for morning coffee, again great video
The wheelbarrow windscreen 👌 and dude you had your hand in that fire for like 30 seconds!! ...Cool AF that you let me check your knife out yesterday then I get to watch a video of you using nothing but the knife! Was a highlight being able to talk to you for a couple minutes. Thanks again for doing what you do!
How does the saying go "necessity is the mother of innovation" and corporal, as always, you prove to know that lady well sir. Another awesome AF video!
Enjoyed the video. That was Cool. The first jar you found brought back memories of my childhood! It was a French’s mustard jar. Thanks for the info and the memories! Be Blessed!
man these types of videos really are the most informative of all, you get to show off your entire skill set and physically demonstrate what is meant by "possum mentality" i'd love more videos like this, with minimal or reduced gear (i'll even let you bring pockets full of coffee, food, and a drum liner just so you dont have to break your back, starve, and wake up feeling like a zombie, how generous am i) :)
This by far is my favorite video you have put together. Forging for food and finding shelter from junk piles is very realistic situation. Fantastic Job!
I have to admit that I've been surprised you haven't done more videos like this. I spent much of my time growing up building "forts" in the woods out of what I could salvage from junk piles here and there. If you're really stuck out in the twigs, for whatever reason, always take advantage of whatever you can to better your odds of survival.
My grandson watched this with me. Couple of days later his dad sent me a message . Said his son stacked up inner tubes from the garage . Put them around his sandbox and swingset . Told his dad he was corpals corner Killian. .
I was looking around for Jadis & the garbage people from TWD to pop out eventually lol. Great scavenging job Bro using the cornucopia of endless junk that can be reused. I built 75% of my 10’x10’ shed & chicken coop & covered chicken run on recycled old cast off stuff given new life..... love the way you think outside the box!
Well that was Unique! Really cool video man. I would agree, I'd be out there for hrs just looking at stuff. A nother one for the books, great video brother. Killed it again!
You keep doing what your doing man. I got lil kids who stay on RUclips and you are the best thing for them I c on here. “Outstanding”, informative, kinda simple most of the time; which makes my boys feel like they can do it. That gets them out and active and imaginative. That makes your content “outstanding”!!!
Hey Corp, I liked this video man! You wake up in the morning and say, "that was horrible, like sleeping on a kitchen floor with a sheet". Funny af hahaha. The funny thing is some of us can relate. Hope you can keep doing vids like this dump, just enjoyed the simplicity of it.
This one was cool as hell ! As I luv to scrounge and camp this for me is a 2fer and ive caught myself saying the very same thing one man's junk cool af ! Thanx for the vid c u in the next one be safe
Like the 20 minute video’s!!! It’s easier to watch all the way through. If your backpack is really good already then release it. When you modify it more call it the same name2, then 3. This way you get your product out and continually improve it over the years.
Really amazing, from nothing to something useful for the night. We all loved and appreciated, your survival videos. You had taught us alot from your experience. Not like others Video, they never ever disclosed their full details. Corporals corner is still the Best Video, which we loved to enjoy and watched. 👍👍👍👍👍

@@manofthehour5580 Some of those 1x12 boards looked better quality than you can buy at Home Depot today!😁
Another great video! I enjoyed meeting you on Saturday at the knife show in Sieverville, keep up the good work!

Really cool location. Like in a post-apocalyptic film set. 😎
Yeah, an apocalypse caused by a more likely global economic collapse instead of the classic world war scenario.
Film Title: The Future.

Hi! I watch your YT channel as well!
🏞🏕🌲🌳🌳 This kind of scenario, camping using whatever has been found and foraged, has happened plenty of times throughout history, both wartimes and peace. Just poverty, people do this all the time in any country pretty much.
Hey Lilly, I love your channel too, as well as Wild woman Bushcraft. Y'all are GREAT 👍
Excellent scavenger build if people get stuck out in the wilderness that's how it's gonna be Keep up the great work 🙂

This is like the “how to” for zombie apocalypse survival. So rad.
There's something both great and rare about a man who proudly proclaims, "I'm just gonna sit in my garbage dump and enjoy the night."
There isn't a single person on youtube that produces a bow drill fire as consistently as you do. Hats off to you.
Jed Cobb

Scavenging is survival. Reuse, repurpose, make something out of nothing. Good vid.
Truly one of the most creative video teachings yet. Caught outside with virtually nothing and if you try hard you can made do. Thanks again.
A cold dark Sunday in the UK. Thank God for one of Cpl Kelly's vids.
That was totally fascinating, proving once again that it's more important to know stuff than to have stuff. Thanks Corporal. You are amazing.
Now that's the kind of camping I like!
put something together and I will come up
Corporal and Steve hunkered down. Would be amazing AF.
A collab between you both would be outstanding!
Oh yeah that's gotta happen!!! That would be amazing AF. I'm excited lol lol. Doesn't matter to me on video length, I'll take what I can get. Thanks for your time

I really enjoyed this one Corporal-my friends and i used to do this very thing years ago.Down in some woods near a creek that ran by my parents house.
One of my favorite videos from CPL in a long time. I had to laugh out loud like 7 times. Excellent work - and again... R.E.S.P.E.C.T. thank you.
Man soon as I seen the intro I was waiting to see Oscar the grouch make a appearance. That is a great scavenger set up. One mans trash is another mans treasure.
Talk about minimal kit survival! Nice job, Marine - way to demonstrate improvise, adapt, and overcome.
Really enjoyed this video. I would like to see more like it. Just the kind of situation we all believe we WON'T be in, but easily could find ourselves in. Thank you for this. I like the 20 min format. Very much looking forward to your knife when it drops. Will want more than one!

This was a really cool video. Should do another one like this. .
During my ten years I was amazed to find all sorts out in the Sahara that I used to make my life easier...a small tin box with a lid which I made pizzas in! Bread I made in the sand of course. Cool AF. I appreciate your restraint in the toys-r-us. The chicken of the woods was a nice touch
Thinking outside the box at its best !! Great video!!!
Post apocalyptic camping with the Corporal! I know who I'm tracking down when SHtF!
I like this video, because of the great ideas on what to look for if you become lost or stranded and how to survive with materials you could actually find in the field, or even an urban area. I like this idea. You should do another one from another garbage pile.
That little jar was a Grey Poupon mustard jar.
I think the fire pit and heat reflector wheelbarrow was inspired. The bed looked functional but considering you only had a knife to begin with I am impressed you built the shelter you did. Awesome video.
This episode is Gold. I really wouldn't want to move all that rusty metal without a pair of work gloves though. Keep up the good work.
Outstanding job, loved this one. Hope you had a great time at the smokey mountain knife show.
First, the 20 minute format seems to work well because you continue to provide good content that is also entertaining. Second, the kind of resourcefulness you demonstrated here is the kind of teaching that is not only interesting, but a real confidence builder if one ever finds themselves in an emergency situation. Loved it!!
Great job Corporal, you hit the jackpot with that umbrella and tent find. Thanks for sharing and all you do. Stay safe and Take Care.👍👍👍👍👍
You can make a learning experience out of anything!!!! OUTSTANDING AF!!! Keep up the great work. Maybe someday I can learn from you personally.
There is no limit of your ideas.
Cool camping, I would love for you to visit again and show what else you found there in the dump.
Good one! Prep for the worst / Pray for the best!
Love the junkyard overnight. Great to see what you can reuse in a survival situation.
Hat’s off to you for always providing quality content! This is one of my favorite episodes
Time frame is not important to me, yet really like all of these. The content and time spent on these is appreciated.
Out standing A.F. sorry about no coffee that sucks
Another good one Corporal, thanks. I can imagine the smell of that material must have been pretty funky.
Best vid you have done so far. No expensive gear, only what you could find. This was awesome!!
When you found that tarp I was waiting for the Rambo reference. 😄 I was not disappointed. Another great video.
That was very cool and inventive. Never seen anything like that. Good job.
How does the saying go "necessity is the mother of innovation" and corporal, as always, you prove to know that lady well sir. Another awesome AF video!
Brilliant vid, definitely shows your ingenuity and just how good you are at bushcraft without anything other than your knife.
I also like the longer videos. You are a good teacher!
Enjoyed the video. That was Cool. The first jar you found brought back memories of my childhood! It was a French’s mustard jar. Thanks for the info and the memories! Be Blessed!
Recognized it instantly. It was pre-plastic squeeze bottles.
man these types of videos really are the most informative of all, you get to show off your entire skill set and physically demonstrate what is meant by "possum mentality"
i'd love more videos like this, with minimal or reduced gear
(i'll even let you bring pockets full of coffee, food, and a drum liner just so you dont have to break your back, starve, and wake up feeling like a zombie, how generous am i) :)
This by far is my favorite video you have put together. Forging for food and finding shelter from junk piles is very realistic situation. Fantastic Job!
The ingenuity of man never ceases to amaze me
Best bushcraft channel on RUclips! Would love if the videos still stuck around the 30 to 35 minute mark though.
Go through and watch all the videos
One of your best. It’s amazing how scrap can be repurposed like that.
This is like a episode of Sanford and son 😁. I can see the value in an urban setting too.
Well that was Unique! Really cool video man. I would agree, I'd be out there for hrs just looking at stuff. A nother one for the books, great video brother. Killed it again!
Great video! today was my last day on active duty, 12 years. This DOC (HM2) is ready to spend some time in the woods.
Thank you for your service. Enjoy your time with family, friends and nature!
I'd like to see more improvised solutions based videos ... love your content
Thanks bro ur helped me get out of depression mode. Also got disease of addiction but watching u makes a hek of difference
Best video ever! Bare hands and a knife, cool AF.
Ann...I enjoy whatever length you can give👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I grew up on farm that was built in the 20s and the best fun was going in the trash dump user the hill and making forts like this.
Outstanding AF! Getting her done Sanford & Son style! Hell yeah!
Just found your videos and I'm totally addicted! 😉 Come the apocalypse, by God's grace, I will survive! !!!!✊✊✊✊✊SUBSCRIBED 😆. Love from the UK! !!!
Most important tool is between the ears.

Like the 20 minute video’s!!! It’s easier to watch all the way through.
If your backpack is really good already then release it. When you modify it more call it the same name2, then 3. This way you get your product out and continually improve it over the years.
Great video! Interesting to see what a person can do with goods found in the environment. I'm loving the variety!
Been looking for that bush rake on your page for a couple of years now. No luck.🤣
Very creative!
Improvise, adapt and overcome. MacGyver would be proud of you.
Really amazing, from nothing to something useful for the night. We all loved and appreciated, your survival videos. You had taught us alot from your experience. Not like others Video, they never ever disclosed their full details. Corporals corner is still the Best Video, which we loved to enjoy and watched. 👍👍👍👍👍
