Front differential on my 2017 X5 I used Redline 75w85 like you did. For the rear differential I used the same 75w85, I could have use Redline 75w90 also. For the transfer case I used Redline MT-LV 70w75, you can also use Rein Automotive TF0870.

Technically yes, main reason why bmw specified different weight oil for front and back is for fuel economy improvements. if you run same oil front and back you’re going to be totally 👍 fine plenty people have done it before.
Front should be fine I don’t think you should have problem with the rear as well should be fine as well, reason for bmw using 70w80 is for fuel efficiency which I dk t think you’ll see much if any decrease in fuel economy, remember this is an open diff it’s very hard to mess it up, there’s no friction plates in there all you need is lube and 75w90 is close enough lube is lube 😉

They do this all the time even now with their motor oil. Their new requirements of the Valonline xl-iii 5w30 for my 2010 35d has the same part number as their 0w40 euro full synthetic. Sneaky sneaky sneaky…

How is your X5 running with the MT-LV? I used the Ravenol transfer case fluid.

I ended up filling the front & rear diffs with Liqui Moly 75w90 GL4/5, haven't noticed any difference from the factory fluid
I'm planning on diff change - I figured Liqui Moly for the front, but good to know for the rear as well as it's significantly less expensive.

Can I use 75W90 Fully Synthetic Hypoid Gear Oil (1 Liter) - Liqui Moly LM22090 for the front and rear diff on my 2016 X5 F15 non performance?
Shouldn’t the car be level for this procedure to put correct amount of oil?

Some GM diffs have a much lower fill spec, 1 5/8in below.
