Hmmm, are you sure about that because last time we checked the name Jaguar originally came from South America? You might want to check out how they pronounce it in the place the word originated. Here's a hint from wikipedia "The Tupian word, yaguara "beast", That would be YAguar. as in Yay, your comment needs a bit more research.
Jaguar used to compete with BMW, Mercedes and Audi... and now they gone up another level, as they are up there with Aston Martin, Ferrari and Lambourghini with cars like this F-Type and XKR-S, this makes them look very well priced:)
FLC, the road feel is not a bad thing this car is actually targeted for sophisticated business men. which is a huge factor when buying these types of cars. when you reduce road feel & harshness it would make driver calm and bit relaxing = more enjoyable on long drives and highways. thank you for the nice episode
hey TFL i just wanted to let you know that because of your video im finally with the hype on this car before i just was like meh but now i think this is my new favorite sports car sub 100 thousand dollars (used to be audi TT-rs)
The only reason not to open up the exhaust is that I don't have an F Type. The car is beautiful and a worthy successor to the sainted E Type. I can see they tried to balance its appeal between the serene SL and the visceral 911. Only those buying in this lofty end of the market, which unfortunately does not include me, will decide if it is a successful compromise
I disagree with you: I hate "road feel". If the car can take care of the handling without making me feel like I'm riding in some kind of crate with no suspension, then it's a better car.
Please Google D-Type and E-Type. Think of the alphabet and you'll understand why it is called the F-Type. FYI: There's a lot of rich Jaguar history that you may want to get to know a bit better.
No I dont act like im special, it just suprises me how much automatic-fans there are.. And I dont know why, but here we are just used to a stick, even in relative slow traffic.. ofcourse, if you have to travel like 150 miles a day, and half of them is in a traffic jam, sure id prefer an auto over a stick :)
I think you are referring to the hood ornament. Hood ornaments are falling out of fashion due to new safety regulations. many countries in the EU don't allow them anymore
I recall the day when only wimps drove cars with power steering, power brakes, power windows. And stick cars were faster. Big power sticks are now slower and far harder to launch. With 6-8 speed close ratio transmissions and smooth, fast revving engines shifting becomes all consuming. In the USA having a fast stop light pull away is important. If you have a big power stick you will loose to an A/T. You like driving sticks? We all do, but they are going the way of manual steering, brakes, etc.
sure an automatic car can pull off the line faster, thats kinda logical if a computer does all the work for you. (sensor -> ECU -> actuator -> feedback) a human cant work as fast/correct as a computer so yeah, an automatic is smooth, but it takes away the 'feeling' And yeah ofcourse, youre totally right about the powersteering & brakes. my personal car is a 1986 bmw e28 525, and i LOVE to drive with it. when i change car and take the new ford focus out, then it feels that car is driving for me
Good point you made there man.. But really im not a boy racer either, like i've said, i drive an old bmw (with stick) and its totally a cruizer's car, not a race car at all..
because a standard manual transmission is the least expensive option, and in current economic time the American manufacturers don't have the same budgets as the European company's
well yeah, and i think i know the reason for that, but please correct me if im wrong.. But arent US car-brands a bit more popular in sweden as they are in the rest of europe? (except for volvo ofcourse) I know as a fact there are a LOT of american classic cars in sweden, way more as you find them anywhere else in europe. and thats because US and sweden had some sort of 'trade-contract' back then, so yeah, maybe its because of that? Does volvo also sell a lot of automatics there?
I still don't know if I would get the V8 or the V6!! if ,of course, I could buy one of cars I really don't know which engine I would get. the V6 Type-S seems to be the best fit for this car. It also looks a lot better in person I must say(;
Because in europe, manufacturers Have to change to automatics because they need to be more eco-friendly.. With a stickshift your shifts are not that ideal, so you use more fuel = more CO2. almost every year the regulations get tighter and tighter..
Okay I know what you mean..But yeah thats where we are different i guess.. I really dont mind to use a clutch and the stick.. When i get in an auto, the fist minute is even pretty weird to use just 1 foot :) I really have to watch my left foot because it always just want to go to the pedal & No, I dont think im better as anyone else.. Quite the opposite, i dont think im That good of a driver, you probably are a better driver as me.. But i just love to use the clutch & choose when to shift myself
Here in belgium (and what ive seen so far else in europe) there are wayy more manual transmissions, so no i dont think so.. In uk there might be more auto tranny's because yeah, its the uk; always trying to be different ;) However, there are coming more anr more automatic transmissiont nowadays.. look at the new renault clio for exampel, i think you cant get it in a manual box
Pretty bad ass car.. but for the money Id go after the new Stingray and have plenty money left over without feeling like its a $40,000+ difference in price.
I know you guys think dragraces are important, and sure, an automatic is faster.. All I am saying, nothing feels so good than shifting by yourself.. even tho youre slower, its more fun like that .. I would prefer my old BMW E28 525 (stick) over a new BMW 520 (auto) even the new one is wayyy faster. But really, thats just me..
First of all Roman, welcome to my neck of the woods, and yes, it's quite sunny here during the summer months. :-) Were you on Bainbridge Island? If so, I thought you might've been there. As to the Jag, and many newer cars in recent years, much of the exhaust note etc, are artificially created these days, lame. I wish automakers would try to educate us "muricans" about driving and what to expect in a car, other than soft, squishy rides that take no effort on their part.
Who ever said that we were superiour?!? Dont feel so easily attacked dude.. Actually, whats the problem with you guys? I mean, you really enjoy driving an automatic more as a stick?? (And im only talking about the fun-factor, not who pulls up faster from 0-100, or in drag..)
a lot of people here like stick shifts but you cant find them in many cars i know a lot of people who want a car with a stick shift but can never fidn one
Hey Roman that was awesome, looks like a fun car to drive but that is where it ends for me because 100 k could be used for a lot other than a car . Great review though.
como lo han dicho en otros reviews, NECESITA MENOR PESO, Y POR QUE NO USAR UNA TRANSMISION MANUAL y/o EN OTRO DADO CASO UNA DE DOBLE EMBRAGUE , para poder conpetir verdaderamente contra porsche
Who buys this type of car for track days? Go get s caterham 7 or maybe a Viper. We buy these cars to drive EVERY day. To work, to take the wife out to dinner. A fun blast in a comfortable car fits that need. If you like loud, cramped, hard riding cars, you can have them.
thats sad actually, i mean, that just Really sucks! And lets say you learn to drive in an automatic, and you do your driving teste in an automatic, is it legal for you to drive with a stick? or only with an automatic?
The V8 grunts and the V6 screams.
Please stay tuned, we'll be posting two more videos of the new F-Type.
Good to see you up here in the northwest ! You managed to come during our 3 months of good weather (July, August, September) :)
Jaguar used to compete with BMW, Mercedes and Audi... and now they gone up another level, as they are up there with Aston Martin, Ferrari and Lambourghini with cars like this F-Type and XKR-S, this makes them look very well priced:)

Best hypercar ever with an inexpensive 700HP tune.
Wow Roman, sometimes your job is pretty darn awesome!
"it's very visceral" isn't a word... it's three ;)
great review as usual guys
That car sounds awesome.
Btw Roman, this is a great channel. Good job guys and keep up the excellent work.
Andrew Marc
they still have it, you can install it from the dealer for an extra cost, only for the xj xf
I bet Nathan was JEALOUS! I can just imagine all the grunting and other noises he'd be making.
hey TFL i just wanted to let you know that because of your video im finally with the hype on this car before i just was like meh but now i think this is my new favorite sports car sub 100 thousand dollars (used to be audi TT-rs)

The exhaust overrun on the V8 is intoxicating
I disagree with you: I hate "road feel". If the car can take care of the handling without making me feel like I'm riding in some kind of crate with no suspension, then it's a better car.
both engines sound sick
I like how the Jag designer said legendary cars like the Lancia Stratos as inspiration for the hood.
Sounds just right. Not too loud , not too soft.
Please Google D-Type and E-Type. Think of the alphabet and you'll understand why it is called the F-Type. FYI: There's a lot of rich Jaguar history that you may want to get to know a bit better.
Great video!
Beautiful review i never liked Jags but wow thats a amazing machine
No I dont act like im special, it just suprises me how much automatic-fans there are.. 2:35 looks like a Villain from a 007 movie!
Since you had access to the V6 version it would have been nice if you compared the two.
such a good looking and sounding car!
I think you are referring to the hood ornament. Hood ornaments are falling out of fashion due to new safety regulations. many countries in the EU don't allow them anymore
You may want to check that again. There are a lot of automatics nowadays in Europe.
1:18 to skip the intro. Thumbs up.
not a jag kind of guy but i must say this one is very sexy.
I absolutely LOVE the sound of the exhaust. Its amazing! One day I'll be able to afford that monster and then I can scare people on the road :)
Which naturally makes you guys the superior human beings.... *rolls eyes.
Most powerful roadster on the market today, its everything the Z4 wants to be but can't.
why didn't you test drive the Mitsubishi eclipse 2009 280hp 355 torque
so that was the 8 cylinder in your video?
But I can agree that stick shift is much more fun to drive than the automatic transmission.
just saw one in person, no way this could be confused for eclipse. its larger, wider
Good Job TATA
is Kyle aloud to drive the vehicles you guys do reviews on?

I agree with D Noona.
love that bad ass sound... wow! How awesome is that!!
why havent you done any reviews on the nissan titan? can you please do a review
I can only imagine how this car would sound with an exhaust
Could ya'll do a review with the 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe/Suburban
Good point you made there man.. But really im not a boy racer either, like i've said, i drive an old bmw (with stick) and its totally a cruizer's car, not a race car at all..
Is the track in the background Ridge Motorsports Park in Shelton, Wa? Sure looks like it to me.
Doesn't it compete more with the Cayman?
How did you feel at sea level, if living in Colorado is the norm?
because a standard manual transmission is the least expensive option, and in current economic time the American manufacturers don't have the same budgets as the European company's
I know in the UK they do a manual transmission :) dont no about in the US though
Yeah, but does Nathan fit in the trunk?
well yeah, and i think i know the reason for that, but please correct me if im wrong.. But arent US car-brands a bit more popular in sweden as they are in the rest of europe? I did not know Billy Idol's brother worked for Jaguar.
But whey are most European companies getting rid of the manual while many US cars retain it as an option?
Every time I see this car, I think of a Mitsubishi Eclipse.
Amazing car :D
Amazing Review
Roman Sir , Your Amazing (Y)
bhosdiwala
Because in europe, manufacturers Have to change to automatics because they need to be more eco-friendly..
With a stickshift your shifts are not that ideal, so you use more fuel = more CO2.
almost every year the regulations get tighter and tighter..
they better make a stick-shift coupe version
Do the 2013 armada
Beautiful car. I still like the original a lot more.
Okay I know what you mean..But yeah thats where we are different i guess.. I really dont mind to use a clutch and the stick..

Roman -- a Seattle tip for travelers. Avoid the Duck Boat Tours -- it's too cheesy and commercial.
Pretty bad ass car.. but for the money Id go after the new Stingray and have plenty money left over without feeling like its a $40,000+ difference in price.
Stingray's depreciate like a dead fish.
Hey why it does not let me watch the video at least in decent 360 p, just 240 or 144 wich most definetely sucks. Please fix that Roman
you are only looking at belgium but you are talking about EUROPE. Here in Sweden almost all new cars (90 %) are automatic.
A beautiful car!!
First of all Roman, welcome to my neck of the woods, and yes, it's quite sunny here during the summer months. :-)

Fair enough the Cat can be called both, but the brand should always be pronounced English way.
Its a nice car but the luggage space is bad
Its expencive to I would go for the XKR which I own
Wat's that crackling noise?
Doesn't this car have launch control?
well considering the E type was 40 years ago, it will be a while before the Z type will even be considered, and Nissan files a lawsuit...
G-Type
The fact that Kyle (the intern) doesn't smile when you launch concerns me. Is he alive? Or maybe a zombie? WTH!?
I'd love to actually see the car more than their faces.
3.4s with a launch (brakes applied)
Who ever said that we were superiour?!?
Dont feel so easily attacked dude..
Actually, whats the problem with you guys? I mean, you really enjoy driving an automatic more as a stick??
(And im only talking about the fun-factor, not who pulls up faster from 0-100, or in drag..)
Yes I think some Chinese company owns Jag now.
a lot of people here like stick shifts but you cant find them in many cars i know a lot of people who want a car with a stick shift but can never fidn one
i LIKE the V-8 1
I wanna feel the road surface wtf? Shut up and enjoy the that exhaust
Buy it
Call me when it comes out in manual and I am getting one!
Tring Tring Tring, time to come good on your words buddy.
Hey Roman that was awesome, looks like a fun car to drive but that is where it ends for me because 100 k could be used for a lot other than a car . Great review though.
4.49s nice but should have been faster. I was able to do 4.78s with a Range Rover Sport, a heavier car and an SUV!
Alexander I agree corvettes look better and are faster go with the vette I would if I wasnt getting a ferrari f430
they had the C type, the D type, E type... get where this is going yet?
the crackling noise might scare my old lady.
woow, it's very fast
Just have a look at your bins on wheels and there you are.
como lo han dicho en otros reviews, NECESITA MENOR PESO, Y POR QUE NO USAR UNA TRANSMISION MANUAL y/o EN OTRO DADO CASO UNA DE DOBLE EMBRAGUE , para poder conpetir verdaderamente contra porsche

the top should be up for a 0-60....
thats sad actually, i mean, that just Really sucks!
