Great job! I actually watched Nate of Nate and Kara do this race. And then I saw you did it I was like wow she is the Bomb! Excellent job! So great to see such conviction in making it to the end!
Currently training for my first marathon that’s 4 weeks away and your whole series has inspired me!!! Amazing job in Leadville you’re truly an unbreakable beast 💪
Amazing job💪🥇You have inspired me to continue on my half marathon journey. 🙏I loved running when I was in HS. At 37 I was diagnosed with Uterine Cancer and had a full hysterectomy. The rehab was grueling and I hated getting out of bed most days. My family was my rock. They literally took turns each day to just help me walk around the block. Every step felt like a punch through my gut into my spine. Eventually my father recommended I jump rope and build endurance. Then walking became easier and finally running! I cannot wait to cross the finish line too! 🏃♀️
This was crazy. I loved all the details of how you felt during sections of the race and the different sections of terrain. Great job! You are giving hope and motivation to many!
My dream is to run this race. Thank you so much for this detailed run down and cheat sheet!!! I will be remembering these words one day as I run this race!! I appreciate you and all you do
Congrats! I was actually volunteering at the Hope Pass aid station, and I saw you come through the first time but I missed you coming through the second time. I was worried that something had happened, but I saw that you finished the next day. I actually just finished my first 100 mile race last weekend at Run Rabbit Run in Steamboat. The last 30 miles were a struggle, but I managed to grind it out and get a buckle. If you’re looking for another 100 mile race for next year, I highly recommend it! I’m planning on using my volunteer hours to try and get into Leadville next year.
I have enjoyed watching Chasing Leadville 100 so much. Congrats to you on your accomplishment! You are so inspiring and motivating, grateful to you and your videos. You truly are Unbreakable :) I have been training for a race in October that means so much to me...Watching your videos on the treadmill days, total motivation!!! Thank you!
I definitely will never do a 100 miler or even a marathon. I don’t like running and the only running I do is training for Hyrox. But… Watching you is ultra inspirational! Congratulations on a monumental achievement and I will be following you down whatever path you take next.
Thanks for another great video! It has been fun watching you prepare/run/recap and I look forward to future videos. I am curious about the recovery after Leadville--I am assuming it involves a lot of rest/re-fueling/medical care for blisters/etc. How long does it take to feel 'normal' again? Anyway, thanks again.
Congrats Amanda on crushing Leadville!! Awesome job!! 🙌💪👍 Leadville is my dream race and your videos have been very helpful (and well done!! 📸 ) in knowing what to expect, train + plan for. In some videos it looked like you were wearing toe separators. Did you train and race with them? I’ve been wearing them all the time except running. Am wondering if/how to build up to run, train + race.
While I'm not Amanda I can answer this question from experience. It is 100% possible and many people do it for 100s. However it can be the difference between finishing and not finishing especially your first one. However most big races have a pacer exchange where people volunteer to pace total strangers. These pacers can act as your crew and pacer to a degree. I have volunteered to pace at my local 100 in years I did not get into the race. I have had a good time pacing and made friends and had a good time helping people accomplish their goals. People who run multiple 100's a year generally migrate towards either small crews or no crews as its hard to ask people for multiple weekends a year (Unless you have a huge support network) For 50 milers, there is no need for a crew (Just a nice to have). Just utilize the drop bags and aid stations.
As a practical matter Leadville race rules have almost eliminated runner crew help vs what it was for many years. No crews at Mayqueen out or Winfield for example - Winfield is probably the place you most would benefit from crew and a pacer - which was also eliminated in 2021. It’s a different race than it was for the first 30+ years. So can you do it without crew - well yes if you’re highly trained and motivated.

Same! that’s how I ended up here 😂

How long did it take to recover from the race?
🎉🎉🎉 Well done!
Sad it’s over. Time to do another 😆

Great job! You rocked it! May I ask what tape you use on your feet?
Hi awesome job !!!! What running shoes would you recommend 3 to 6 miles off road and road? Keep it going !
Hoka
Where can we read about all the endurance stuff she's accomplished?
Any tips gear wise for running in snow during winter? (More thinking shoes) cause i want to keep running as winter comes to Utah
Agree, would love to see her do a gear video.
Is it possible to do a 50 mile or 100 mile race solo without a team? I feel it is but incredibly difficult if you don't have a support system
