Loved the footage. Lived in Arizona for ten years. Bagged Elk 3 times. Now in Colorado. This footage shows that once the heard is on the move they're hard to keep up with and sometimes (herd mentality) reluctant to separate. Looks like you played them the best you could tough. Someone seemed to criticize your calls. Nothing wrong with them at all. You could've maybe tried some bugles though or maybe I missed them. Too bad you have to wait so long for a tag. Good job.

This was my armature video work, just happen to bring my hand held weekend warrior camcorder to capture what I could. The day of all the bulls screaming was real, we saw everyone of those bulls and Todd was nearly gored by a big bull while in an aspen thicket when the bull ran right by him, the rest of us hung back as not to create to much noise, but these bulls were so hot, it may not have mattered. Live and learn, Yep the video is not the best but wow, we had a good time.
Isn't it wonderful, the opening day of elk rut season. The woods are full of hunters blowing their elk calls in chorus. I can't help but wonder if any of them are real bulls. If there were that many elk, you'd bump elk everywhere virtually being every tree.
Skunked unit 1 hunt ur callers sounded like humans blowing a elk call lol, feel sorry for u, should have sat a water hole, don't worry though u can have another chance in 15 years to draw that tag again lol
Lots of great units in Arizona to hunt, it all hunter preference. All units that surround the White Mountains and Flagstaff are heavily populated with Elk.

A lot of luck hearing and seeing them. And none of us had ever heard anything like we did that day, but the bulls won this hunt.
Lost me at 20:00 when the cameraman thought the bulls were roosting.
