I'm a volunteer at an organization that helps children who are behind in their speech and language development simply by reading to them and playing games such as these once a week. I've been struggling to come up with games so this was really helpful. Thanks a bunch :) Love your enthusiasm by the way
I really enjoyed this video and the ideas you're sharing. Using the notes to cover up items on the page is a fun way to make the book very interactive, and I think my toddler would love the "hiding" the toys/items and then naming them activity. My toddler was a bit of a late talker, we really didn't hear more than a word or two from him till he was about 18 months, but these days he loves sitting with books. We do a lot of "Que es eso?" asking him what something is on a page, and now he loves pointing out every single thing that he knows the word for. Recently, I've been having him try to "read" his books to his baby brother, which he likes, and mostly consists of him telling the baby what's on every page. haha!
Hey! It's great that you found the activities useful! My little one had a great time with all of these! Ben is definitely a little chatterbox and is just so into language right now so we decided to embrace that and engage him as much as possible since we have so much time in quarantine. I love the idea of getting him to read his books! He doesn't have a younger brother but he could definitely do that to us. Thanks for sharing! :)
I love the song pauses!!! We sing all the time at home but I never thought to pause and let them sing it!! As tommy gets older I’ll definitely be using that with him! 😊 great video as always!! 😍
Thanks Kellie! I am always so surprised by how much he actually knows with the song pauses. I don't realise he knows a word until he sings it! Hope Tommy enjoys them. :)
So glad it's helpful Claire. These types of activities have definitely helped to turn Ben into such a chatty wee guy! Now getting him to stay quiet for longer than 5 seconds is the problem! 🙈
@@BairnandaBackpack hahaha I know the feeling 🙈 Leo will not stop talking even what he is saying is gibberish 😂 then he laughs like he told a joke hehe xxx
