@Remy Solar X I actually did it wasn’t the best movie but it definitely wasn’t the worst I think he overall gave us something to think about and a message to me was don’t take your life all the time you have here for granted, Because your circumstances could Be way worse. I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if there were institutions like that run a trial errors for the medicine not to that extreme but I think the creepy or the scariest part about it is that it’s not too far-fetched.

A 6yo not being concerned about a dead body isn't unusual. When I was five, my mum and I were at her father's house when he died. She woke me up to tell me, and the EMTs or whomever were there to remove him, and my only question for her was "why did you wake me up?", with her response being that she "didn't want me to be scared." I never saw his body, and I was too young to be afraid without that.

Korey was joking about other names for Mid Size Sedan, but if you think about it, the name "Big Ass Rappin' Dude" would actually have been clever, since it shortens to "B.A.R.D.", as in a bard, a musician and poet.
When the kids kept chowing down on that suspiciously generous amount of food, I was getting Hansel and Gretel vibes, thinking something was mixed into that and maybe it had at least a thing or two to do with what was causing their sudden changes. Also, the way the girl ate that pasta salad. 🤢

Maybe the idea could work more if it were a mini-series. And say the age rate were idk 5 years every 24 hours. Just have the episodes be about 30 minutes. And really focus on & build the characters, psychological aspects, and maybe philisophical ramifications of this. Ironically it feels a story about time needed more time. Plus an underline suspense can be built of we have a bit of time but death is soon. That way you can the existential dread of aging, but that you can acknowledge it and build tension. Just an idea I suppose.
Original graphic novel, Sandcastle had the premise one of our years was 1/2 of theirs . Also was a very short one . About 100 pages .
@@MariaRodriguez-hb4ix I guess the rate of aging really has to do with the media and what you want to do with it (more character focused, horror focus, ect..). It's a good premise just needs really any proper execution.

(we pan back to the man)

That's some good shit, you should see if he wants to use it. Can't wait to see that film already.
Oh my gosh, do I hate that. It can be a good technique, but he abuses the hell out of it. It was so annoying. Some shots don't feel right either... his cinematography is pretty bad.

@@Galvatronover it was good, enjoyable, different and I never felt bored. Heart raced a couple times. Its interesting cuz you want to figure it out like they are. The scenes on the people freaking out and reacting was great, especially the blonde nearing the end I tripped tf out.

As someone who had read Sandcastle, the comic that served as the basis for this film, I was able to pinpoint on who was supposed to be who. Thankfully it didn't have some of the graphic content like the nudity in this film.
All I can say is that I thought that some of the effects and cinematography were stunning. Some of the acting was unintentionally funny, especially from the trophy wife and the main wife. I would say it was average at best. I did not mind the film. I am glad that I saw it, but I didn't love it.
Danny brown is my guy!!! Bring him back more often that laugh is amazing 🤣

The guy that plays the family guy really made me laugh with many of his line deliveries, burping those out, screaming and rambling and sometimes I was trying to make sense of what he was saying. Just fun.

In defense of the graphic novel I wouldn’t be surprised if the dialog suffered from some mistranslation from French to English. Also the graphic novel had a much more unsettling & poetic ending that stays with you a lot longer than the movie’s ending. And its ending justifies the pregnancy scene a lot more imo.
I read that earlier this month out of curiosity and in preparation for this film. I was able to see who seemed like who. One thing that I will give the film is that with the rapid time shift, it showed how worse conditions can get over time.

Split was great. I loved Old. It was different and my heart raced a couple times. My gf and little bros said it was a wierd movie but good lol Not your average movie which I was glad.
@@FloresRain It does look like it might not be too bad, but i can still smell the shamalogna in it... He literally made me pronounce damns and curses upon him for some of his movies, so I've checked out from him. There are still things in his more recent films, though, like a superhero drowning in a puddle ... coming from someone else it would be ... maybe ok, but from him, it's just horrible. Lady in the water was so boring ... happening was so DUMB... and you know the rest, i dont have to go down the list. maybe i'll check it out some day.

Edit: I'll say give this one a shot. Enjoyable. Black widow made me sleepy but idk maybe from the same crap over and over again that allowed me to get into this one and trying to guess the plot with the characters. Immersion, this movie has that.

It's worth emphasizing that this wasn't Shyamalan's idea. I've seen the graphic novel the movie was based on, called "Sandcastles". One of the most viscerally depressing books I've ever seen. If you're the sort of person who enjoys existential horror and crushing angst, I recommend it.
They do emphasize it and say it's awful ;p
@@vanhoutenmartin Yeah, it really is. Kind of wish I'd never read it. But I don't think it's awful as a work of art, I think it's awful because of the subject matter. It's one of the most utterly downbeat things I ever read, which is what I think the writer intended.
It has exactly the end you would expect when people resign to their fate . Which is very depressing.

Trivia: Loosely based and/or inspired by " based on a French graphic novel but takes some pretty serious liberties"...:D On the surface, 'individuals' seem 'normal/contented/happy?' - But - does aging process make them project their 'inner' demons, or weirdness/insecurities - list goes on! Communication becomes a burden, and really tiresome! Lol! The outside influences accelerates the negatives, I guess! :)

In the movie she changes into a bigger one that the mom brought with her as a spare. Her yellow bathing suit is shown to be too small when they first noticed them becoming teenagers.
