If he wasn’t ready then he shouldn’t be pressured into a marriage just for tv. My beef with him is this man knew he’s wasn’t going to go through with it. Waited till wedding day, in front of her family, his family and the world to embarrass her. Even the whole episode he was acting like he was going to go through with the marriage. He could have easily told her BEFORE that he wasn’t ready just like the other couples that didn’t make it.

Why say Yes if you mean no? That makes things messier.

He went on a show where the goal was to get married. In his own words, he met his soulmate and then left her at the altar. He never intended on marrying her from the beginning. He wasted her time, period.

That's not true. You're not in his head so you can't say that. I get everything he's saying. He fell in love, but didn't trust himself due to his past histories with women, which was affected by his childhood and seeing his dad cheat on his mother. His intention wasn't to end the relationship. He said no because he thought he could continue the relationship beyond the six weeks on the show. But he went about it the wrong way, and he's admitted that. Unfortunately it cost him any chance to continue the relationship with AD.

For me Clay and the drama surrounding his family made this season's LIB the most meaningful of all the seasons. Sure, people are hating him for doing AD that way at the alter, and maybe rightfully so. The issue isn't that he said no, it's that he didn't communicate what he was really feeling and his intentions before getting to the altar. He broke AD's heart and she had every right to deny him any second chances. Time will tell on that matter. However, the greatest significance of what played out was Clay's vulnerability and insecurity when it came to committing to marriage, and the reasons why that was. The fact that he witnessed and even partook in some of his father's infidelities left an imprint on him that he hasn't been able to shake to this day. The fact that he is so well spoken and has been able to articulate his truth is what makes him a very important person in the whole "reality" genre. His mother's talking to his father in the way she did right after the wedding was a seminal point in not only this season's LIB but in the whole series. Together this family brought to light issues that have affected not only many African American families but families of all backgrounds everywhere. It offered a space for individuals and families affected by infidelity to start the conversations toward growth and healing. And I find it disappointing and sad that this has been lost and overshadowed by the mere fact that he said no at the altar and didn't communicate it earlier, giving women everywhere reason to "hate" him. They should actually be thanking him and his family for offering viewers the opportunity to talk about the secrets they've kept hidden which have perpetrated generational traumas in their own families. Until someone is willing to talk openly about it, nothing changes. So give Clay and his family some love. He and they aren't perfect, and neither are you or yours.

So Clay should have lied in the moment to save face for AD?!?! Nah….I totally disagree with that approach. Why would he lie for appearance sake? I’ll never understand why people don’t like honesty. It’s unfortunate.

I can see right through clay. He seems very surface. Don't be surprised if he doesn't end up with a beautiful chocolate woman. Even though ad is beautiful, I don't think she was his usual type outside of her body. But he needs to understand she was the prize not him. He just seems like a gaslighter.

I don’t understand why are people so negative toward Clay. He is not the first person to say no at the Altar. The first season their were five couple that went to the altar. Three couples said no at the altar. Giovanni couldn’t handle when Damien said no to her because she tore a piece of her dress and threw it in his hands out of angrier. She then ran out of the church running down the road. Her mother had to run after her and she fell on the ground in her wedding dress. The fifth season two guys said no to the fiancé and which was Paul he told Micah no and she continue to date him afterward. I know it was other couples who said no but I missed watching some of the seasons. Leave Clay along because he is being honest about the impact his father may in his life as a young kid with his father’s infidelity. You do know a this young man looked up to his father. Atleast he is getting help and dealing with his childhood trauma. AD is absolutely beautiful and has an amazing body. However, she is acting as though she has lot of options now but the reality she has to deal with the same men or her choices before coming to the show. Nothing changed the dating arena is the same. I like what Clay is doing he is seeking counseling and continuing to work hard in his business. It was an excellent interview with his mother on the Tameron Hall show on Friday. It was good to see them being interview by Tameron Hall a journalist.
AD going on Jennifer Hudson show is not the answer because she was engaged for ten years to her son’s father and she didn’t marry him. He wanted to marry her but she didn’t want him. Also she is now dating Common a habitual cheater. She can’t give anyone any advice on relationship. AD perhaps need to focus on her intellect and not her amazing body. Everyone is very aware of that and we all know looks fade and life happens. I pray God’s blessings over AD and Clay and that he healed them both after this experiment. I pray they take the time know themselves and learn each other. They are a beautiful couple together and hope nothing but favor and blessings for them both.
