Man, Grossman had his memorable moments with Berrian and Dez Clark. But he had some terrible pocket awareness. Being able to sense the pressure around you, move in the pocket and keep your eyes downfield is key to being a good NFL QB. Trubisky was a (fringe) pro bowl QB when he had a strong offensive line. But once the OL started to falter, he seemed to sense pressure when none was there.
With 30 seconds remaining in regulation and the Seahawks driving (the 2:06:40 of this video) a simple wrong decision by Matt Hasselbeck cost Seattle a definite victory. On 2nd and 10 he immediately focuses on Deon Branch running down the right sideline double covered and completely misses a WIDE OPEN receiver running down the middle of the field. If he throws it to him it’s game over and Seattle wins 31-24, and history would be completely different from that point forward for the rest of the 2006 season.
