Believing all biological life must be purged, Ultron and Sigma forge an alliance. Using the Reality and Space Infinity Stones, they fuse themselves into a single being named "Ultron Sigma", and merge the worlds of Marvel and Capcom into a single dimension, which they seek to rule by unleashing an evolved form of the Sigma virus that puts others under their control. As a result, the heroes of both worlds must band together to retrieve the remaining four Infinity Stones with the now-captured Thanos' help, and defeat both Ultron Sigma's forces and a group of villains led by Jedah Dohma, who wish to terrorize the merged world using the power of the Symbiotes.
The story was good overall, albeit short. It's a good story add on. As expected, it's pretty crazy and all over the place (expected from a crossover game). But in my opinion it's much better than MK vs DC's story, which is it's closest comparison. There are some amazing fight scenes and wonderful pairings.
As always we used all cutscenes, relevant dialogue and important gameplay to stitch together a fluid cinematic experience. We hope you enjoy!

The idea of Ultron and Sigma merging as one reminds me of Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe when Shao Khan and Darkseid fused after Raiden and Superman each disrupted their portals.
Its like cap com lost all their creativity.
That's basically it but at least Ultron Sigma is alot more cooler Dark Khan sounds like it was made by an edgy teenager

I'll admit, there were some fucking brilliant concepts here. Ryu and Hulk vs the Elder Dragon was fucking hype, and Thanos with the Satsui No Hado is the stuff of legends. While the roster is very lacking, especially on the Capcom side, they probably had the coolest moments. Jedah was by far the best character in the story., and you have no idea how happy I am that they put X in so much spotlight, especially considering how poorly treated the blue bomber is nowadays.
However, the look of most characters are dull, and some look horrifying up close. The voice acting is also pretty bad at points, making some character interactions just straight up cringey. I will admit though, Iron Man telling Frank to fight Thanos was comedy gold.
Overall, the story was alright. Could've been A LOT worse.
I just cared for the fact that my boys X and Zero were back!
Such a shame that most people don’t appreciate this game for what it is. I think it’s fantastic for the most part

Most folks main complaint (rightfully so) is that there are NO Xmen or FF4 [related] characters in this
Granted...we didn't need everyone from those groups, just maybe 3 or 4+ mutants along with Dr. Doom and/or Super Skrull, and the overall game mightve been better received

@@MarcusSingletaryDMV I get it. X-Men started the best fighting games with Children of the Atom in my opinion and have been in every fighting game after that since. Without any X-Men, it's just not really a MvC game
I love how Marvel and Capcom put together a story mode for the first time in the MvC franchise. MvC is one of my favorite fighting games, aside from Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter, Tekken, and Injustice series. I also love playing with Dante, because he is my overall favorite character ever since he came out MvC3 and when I first played DMC series. Devil May Cry is also my favorite hack and slash game, aside from Resident Evil, my second fav. I believe that these two companies did a very good job and added some very good characters to connect with the story. Even though I think they should've added other characters like Vergil, Akuma, Wolverine, and maybe Phoenix or Storm on the roster. (I'm also a huge Marvel fan since I was younger.👍Read comics and everything.😂)
Tbh, I really wish Vergil was in the game. I wonder what kind of impact he might have had in the story mode.

In the lore, the Yamato can cut through anything, even space and time itself.
If he was with the heroes, he would have probably destroyed the Space and Reality Stones and one shotted Ultron Sigma in seconds.
I wish Capcom could do more about this game or a sequel since it has a cliffhanger and also, they should include X-Men and Fantastic Four since they are now back hehe

You know, despite the weakness of the 'fighting', I think the worlds converging was actually pretty neat.

I enjoyed every minute of this. It's literally what I expect out of a comic & is has it's corny moments. The cliff hanger is the best. When is out Satui no Hado Thanos mode?

1:41:50 On one hand it's neat that the story doesn't end with the universes separating and now the heroes just accept their new reality but on the other the only reason they did that is probably because it would have been a lot of time to animate which they didn't have.
I like the cutscenes and the story this game has. It's practically every Capcom's and Marvel's fans dream.
But there are a few things I don't like about the game, one of them is the story itself. I know I said I liked the story, but there is more to it than they had referenced in these cutscenes, such as the convergence storyline, and the characters and their homes merging with one another.
Another issue is the roster. There aren't enough characters in it, such as the Fantastic Four, Sakura (Street Fighter), Chuck Green (Dead Rising), Nick Ramos (Dead Rising), Leon Kennedy (Resident Evil), Jill Valentine (Resident Evil), Claire Redfield (Resident Evil), Winter Soldier, Red Falcon, She-Hulk, Redskull, Carnage, and most importantly of all, Deadpool, who was a VERY funny character in the last Capcom Vs Marvel game.
Also, the Monster Hunter character and Black Panther were the only two had VERY little screen time in the story.
But I enjoyed these cutscenes, they are really good.

So they can't restore the universes to their normal states because the reality stone is cracked? Couldn't they just use the time stone to restore the reality stone to it's previous state, and then restore the universes?

Keenan Johnson Well my point is how do we know they just didn't just use a loop-hole to that rule. The stones can not be used in another universe if that universe has Infinity stones. As far as we know the Capcom universe doesn't have Infinity stones and that universe is but a separate extension of that Marvel universe.
Something I always found strange is when Gamora get into games they never put her in her MCU outfit.

I wish we could have seen Akuma vs Thanos/Ultron.
MultiStor1 Akuma would've been great in the story. Thanos having to fight Akuma to get the Satsui No Hado would've been a much cooler way for Thanos to obtain the power, and it also would've evened the roster. Ultron/Sigma, Jedah/Dormammu, then there's just Thanos all on his lonesome. I know the infinity stones and stuff, but still weird.

I have to say, Marvel vs Capcom Infinite doesn't fare really well as a game, BUT the Campaign's story actually ain't half bad and could really work well as an anime-style series

I still question the useage of Megaman X and Chris Redfield. They are both good and Chis is the original RE protagonist but I just think that Megaman.EXE or the Original Megaman and Leon S. Kennedy would be more recognizable.
