Abandoned Hotel Adler, Sharon Springs NY

This hotel was notable for its architecture and the many notable people that stepped inside. It is a part of a series of mainly Jewish attended resorts and hotels within the Catskills called “the Borche belt.” The next video will show another one, called the nevele which is much bigger and has had guests as noteworthy as the Adler did.

I remember the Adler Hotel very well In the 50s my parent's and I went every summer to Sharon Springs to take the Sulphur Baths ( not I, of course.) Because of it's location, it always seemed to inhabit a separate village, and not really part of the town. We stayed for many years at the Empire Hotel, and then the Columbia.on Main St. Browsing through it now, on Google street view, it all looks very sad and empty. Thanks for the upload.
