The intricate details in every room is absolutely amazing. Someone put a lot of time to build their dream home… years ago. Although it’s extravagant and lovely to watch, I became very sad for the person or people that once called this their home and now it’s a dead capsule of old times forgotten of someone’s once vibrant life and dreams.
I would have to agree with you, but, I hope that their children live on with their own lives and dreams in new and better homes. If I or someone else were to buy this middle class house, it could be repaired and improved for our lives and dreams also. Of course the door would be open to those who were there before us to visit. It is a matter of noblesse oblige. The thing is. I do not even know what city it is in. So how would I contact the listing agent?
Probably passed away went into probate everything finally sold by then mold & water damage now who ever buys it basically sucking the cost to demolish it & rebuild! Sad but it's how thing's like such a once beautiful home is lost fordver!
The room you called a “ballroom” is called a Sun Porch. It’s a respite spot for reading, napping, relaxing in daytime hours. Think plants, chaises, large glass table… the perfect place for tea and scones!
Whomever designed this house had a very active imagination. Someone who loved old southern french architecture. It's very dark and eclectic in nature with tons of old world charm. It's truly magnificent, a real treasure. It's a real shame that no one has put love and life back into it.
The small area off the kitchen with the smaller fridge and wine cooler is called a "Butler's Pantry", this home features "tray ceilings",and the brick structure on the patio is located off the Butler's Pantry is a brick oven. Used mostly for baking old world style artisan breads.
Speaking of Anne Rice. What do you think of her son letting everyone have the right to produce TV shows. I remember the whole disgruntled past of An Interview with a Vampire movie.
Definitely French quarter vampires. Very Indigo merry happy. Wonder how they got power 4 the electricity 2 still b on? I bet the my hate paying 4 stuff. So I'm just curious on how they living for free with the electricity. It's definitely beat the system.
I'm sure the black mold is a deterrent to potential buyers. It's a beautiful home for sure, although I'm not crazy about the layout. The black mold is the reason I'm going to build a tiny home. Not that it couldn't become an issue but it would be easier and less expensive to repair. Thank you for sharing. Blessings of love and light to all!
The room around 14:48 with the loo and sink looks like it was an art room/studio. Large flat drawers like these are often used for paper and card storage. Wow, I would sooo love to have that house. My art room is teeny! Far too many doors for my liking, but I could live with that! Thank you so much for sharing your adventure with us!
While this may not be the biggest mansion it was designed to utilize every inch of space. The floorplan, in my opinion is what sets it apart and makes it more liveable than most mansions. I could really enjoy this place because it has so much to offer a person.
I would have to agree with you, and add that despite some of the flash and bling, I wonder about some of the feature suggesting a family life there before.
So many interesting architectural statements going on and a very personal color scheme for sure. Would love to see someone revamp this home without ruining it's uniqueness.
I love this house! I don't blame you for not giving out the location of these houses. I will never understand why people want to destroy homes that aren't theirs. Maybe for spite because they are jealous i think it is childish. Thanks and stay safe!
The area where you thought a bed might have been was a dining room and that outline was likely a large electric fireplace. The little area off that room with a refrigerator and sink is a butler's pantry which leads from the kitchen for ease of serving.
Great video. Beautiful home. Please slow down some when you are walking & panning around the room. It will make your videos so much more enjoyable to watch.
@susannahhunt100 That's like saying we're alone in the universe. It's pretty arrogant to have this way of thinking. Think for instance of how much we still don't know about what's in the farthest depths of our oceans or even our solar system. If God and Heaven exist, then so does Lucifer and Hell. There may very well be super natural beings that we don't know about. We'll never really know. I for one won't be small minded enough to think that what we as humans concider impossible isn't possible. For all we know there could multiple universe's. Having said that, if vampires or the like do exist they're definitely not of God's doing hence it's best not to know.
O my word this french style home is de best on the market for someones dream home that way you can feel like you have 3 million dollar person .If i could i would move into this style home in a month of dreamland. Thank you for finding and sharing this explore with me/Us? we love it i know i love it very much.
Can't have been 'abandoned' for very long - it's in great shape. Plus the electricity is ON, someone is paying the bills and there's still a lot of stuff there. Guessing someone has bought it and is prep'ing for renovation. Even saw several tools around like someone is already working on it. I wouldn't call it abandoned, more like trespassing.
Yeah this ia a gorgeous home. I love the red and black together and I also adore pink. The extra unique dealing in this home I love seeing because a lot of mansions just don't seem to have such unique extras and if I had the money I would add so many unusual detailings. I really loved this mansion.
I love the goth look. Its warming and beautiful to me. Even if i ever get a small home. Ill morf it into a beautiful home that suits my tastes. Thats a lovely home.
It's lovely, I can't help but to feel a bit creeped by it. I could never live there alone. It's a crime how many beautiful gomes are just left to fall.
It's eccentric for sure. I don't think I'd want to live in it though because it's too chopped up the way that it's laid out. I'd probably forget how to get from room to room. It's too bad you couldn't get into that oriental looking building that you showed through the window, I bet that's pretty cool in there. Anyway, I am a new subscriber and I'll continue watching your videos. Take care.
Alabama and Georgia, have a ton of humidity. I lived in both and it was crazy. What a place, would take another million or two to get it back up and functional and then another million in furniture and appliances.
Those ceilings are called Coffered Ceilings. I put up the same style ceilings when I renovated my parents/sisters house along with a Tray ceiling in one room and a Vaulted-Beamed/not Cathedral ceiling in where I extended the roof over where I enclosed the deck/patio area extending the front of the house over part of the enclosed deck making half of it into much larger permanent edition to the house with a sitting area past the living room, a door to the enclosed deck area on one side and a foyer room on the other side where deliveries (especially packages-made a door like the old milk doors they could push regular packages through) could be placed into.
@chimom7112 I think maybe in some cases they do it to keep the humidity level down so mold doesn't form. But in many cases it doesn't help because people smash windows or leave doors wide open after they visit
If I had the money I would have bought that mansion... Imagine all those rooms you could utilize... Lots of band practice space and turn some of those rooms into recording studio as well!
What’s to stop people from? Just squatting there? Are you tempted to do that? Even for just a couple days? Stock the fridge hang out in the vampire bedroom. That place would be perfect for a Halloween party.
Damn... why is it abandoned? Gorgeous. They should really keep some air conditioning and dehumidifier running in the summer to protect such a nice building from mold.
Interesting place, great video. This reminds me of a mixture of an Italian designer and Frank Lloyd Wright architectural masterpiece. I’d love to live there but I love the cold weather too much, plus I couldn’t afford it nowadays... Subscribed 👍🛎

Actually they’re coffered ceilings. A tray ceiling is just one large recessed space in a ceiling, usually with recessed lights.
I love it. Both my hubby and I are into the vampire/goth thing and this house is in the style we love.
That might be the home of one of the founders of White Wolf Games who created the Vampire: The Masquerade RPG. He died suddenly in 2017.

I think it's rocking a bit of a Louisiana French Quarter vibe. Maybe that's why it's thought to be the vampire mansion. Very Anne Rice ❤
