The minute I heard her talk, I started to cry. My mom was from Munich Germany. She passed many years ago, and when I hear the accent, I cry. I so miss her cooking and just her way. Thanks for sharing Regine with us!!
My mother was also from Munich and died in 2003….I miss her every day. She thankfully taught me many German recipes and my family loves them. So enjoyed watching this video💕💕
I truly love German people and I have been to Germany four times. I also have a next door neighbour who came to Canada, from Germany, about 20 years ago. Generally speaking and hopefully not stereotyping a nationality, they are no nonsense, very practical people. What I love about Germans is that they are so hard working, so organized and very family orientated. They keep immaculate homes and they also cook delicious food. When you leave their tables you are full for hours.
This is so true. When I was a child we had a German neighbor, she worked full time kept an immaculate house sewed her own clothes and she was a wonderful mother and cook. I could listen to her talk for hours because I loved her accent. I was fascinated by her 🩷
Andrea, you and Regina together in the kitchen is so lovely...I can sense the love and respect for each other...Bless you for being such a hospitable daughter in law to the lady who gave life to your husband and the daddy of your boys!...its evident that Mike is the person he is because of this lady..( and, his dad)...God's abundant love, and guidance to the whole family..❤❤
How wonderful that Regina was able to cook with you and be on the video!! She seems like a lovely person. I can only imagine how she loved being with her son and your children and of course you Andrea!! Thank you for sharing your recipe. Everything looks delicious!! God bless!!
You are so blessed to have a wonderful MIL, I unfortunately never got to experience that with mine, Lord knows I've tried. The meal looked amazing! Love the German stand!
Andrea, this class was so much fun and personal. You honored the fifth commandment and that comes with a special blessing. The home cooking has us deliciously comforted and wanting a taste! Keep up the great teaching classes!! God bless you and your family!❤😊
Hi Andrea, Thank You for sharing this Sweet video with us. 🥰 The food looked yummy, and your Mother-In-Love is a Sweetheart. It was Super Sweet of your Husband to purchase the table as a Birthday surprise for You, which looks Great! Thank You again Sweetheart for Always sharing, inspiring, encouraging, and uplifting So Many of us. Lord willing, until next time. 🙏🏾 Love In Christ, Paula
My motherinlaw was from Ulm, Germany, very no nonsense woman, but I loved spending time with her, she knew how to do so many things, she was a translator during WWII, she spoke several languages, I really enjoyed watching your time together ❤
Your mother-in-law is so sweet. I was a babysitter for 2 German families whose husbands were military training in Texas. I truly enjoyed these people, they always treated me like family. Both spouses were so creative. I see that in your husband and your mother -in-law.
Oh wow, I am from German heritage from my grandfathers side of my family. It was so special watching these dishes being prepared. We have enjoyed eating these dishes many times but the recipes were not passed down. I am going to try making speatzel and wienerschnitzel. Thank you so much Andrea, just hearing here speak took me back many years ago to when I was a little girl. What a special video for many of us, much love and respect that was expressed by you and your mother-in-law. A very emotional video for me thank you again.
My mother’s family was from Germany. My favorite dishes she made were German pancakes and spaltz (not correct spelling). Grandma used to serve them with bacon grease and croutons she fried in the grease a f topped the noodles. To reheat she always added a little bacon grease to reheat them. They got better each time they were reheated. Enjoyed meeting such a sweet lady!
Aww, Regina is such a darling delightful woman! Her smile just warms my heart! How blessed you and your family are to have her in your lives. I love her sense of humor, too. Goodness, she is a wonderful cook on top of everything! What a fun video this is, Andrea. I love your new table in the entry. It adds such warmth and beauty. How sweet of Mike to surprise you with this lovely gift! Happy birthday, dear Andrea!
Andrea your mother in law is adorable. I loved watching her cook. The meal looked so yummy. Your home looks like a storybook cottage…so lovely. I just love the table you got from Germany, I think it looks great in your entryway. Thank you for sharing your home and the cooking lesson. Many blessings beautiful lady 🌿
What a great mother in law, you hit the jackpot! If it’s your birthday week, you must be a Leo! Happy birthday! Your birthday table is gorgeous, love it.
I love my dear mother-in-law!! She has taught me so much about cooking, so much she learned from her mother-in-law❤️. We love working together in the kitchen.
Sooo enjoyed this video. What a pleasure to meet your sweet mother in law Regina , what a treasure !! Really that she was able to stay with you !! I am now so hungry ! That food looked sooo delious.
So cool that your MIL helped you make a true traditional German meal! It looked sooo yummy! I know Mike really enjoyed it, & having his mom there too😊 I always use the grease from my meat fat to make homemade brown gravy, and only in a cast iron skillet! Honestly I love my potato salad warm, that's how i was raised eating & making it, its a southern thing😉 We use the same tool, a tenderizer, to beat our tenderize out steaks. Add a little tenderizer then beat them before you marinate them & you can literally cut them with your fork, they'll fall apart!🤤 The little table is beautiful, you know i have a thing with anything old & made of wood! Its really cute in the entry, but it'll be cute anywhere you put it!😊 I really enjoyed watching you & your MIL cooking! Thanks for sharing that with us!
How wonderful spending time with your mother-in-law and cooking a meal from your husbands culture! I also learned to cook and bake Assyrian meals and special pastries from my mother-in-law when I was young bride many years ago. Wonderful memories!! My husband and I have been married 46 now and I still on occasion make these meals and they are a real treat. I am 66 years old and my Mother-in-law is still alive at 100. She is a wonderful woman who loves the Lord. I am so blessed ❤️. I truly enjoy watching your channel!
I made schnitzel the other night. My dad was Canadian military and we lived in Germany during my teens. I remember the weiswurst at the markets and schnitzel when we went out. Love it. What a sweet Oma to your boys!❤
I'm German on my father's side. I had opportunity to live in Germany for two years as a young adult. This video brought back SO many memories of dinners in the local gasthaus! There's nothing like German gravies and that spaetzle machine though! I absolutely loved this! Danke!🌻
What a lovely time you all had Andrea and such a special time. I had the same with my Zia when she came from Italy for a visit and cooked with me and then when I went to Italy and cooked with her. Zia was about the same size of your sweet mother in law. You’ll treasure those memories I’m sure.
Hello Andrea and Regina! So wonderful to see you two in the kitchen fixing the hungry guys something to eat! Looks scrumptious! You can tell Regina is definitely a spectacular cook! I know y'all were sad to see her leave. Nice table you got for your birthday. He's always so thoughtful. Have a blessed weekend, Andrea! 🤗🙏🤍
Thank you Andrea for sharing and your mother in law seems so kind but if course so are you! Sadly I could never imagine my daughter in law saying such things about me your parents raised you well! Blessings Always
Awwww this was a wonderful video. Your Mother in law is the sweetest. You can tell she really loves you. My late husband was a USAF medic stationed in Wiesbaden during Desert Storm. He loved everything about Germany. So as a 3rd generation German, Scottish and Cherokee that loved cooking, he brought home hot potato salad and schnitzel and several others. We miss those wonderful dishes he made for us. He added bacon, dill and sour cream to his potato salad though. I wonder if that is his variation or something he would of had in Germany?
You MIL is absolutely adorable. She reminded me of my grandma who was from Germany. She made the same food and was only 14 when she passed away so I never learned. Thank you so much for sharing this, maybe I'll try to make it. Your birthday gift is beautiful, that was so sweet! Safe travels home for sweet Regina! You are very blessed! ❤
This just warmed my heart, just seeing this lil Ole gal cooking in your kitchen, it looked so delicious. Hugs to you and your wonderful mother in law. 😊
Charming video. I also had a MIL born in Germany and a WWII bride. She wasn’t the best cook, but she did make German style potato salad that was delicious.
Dearest Andrea, how special she is such a sweet mother-in-law beautiful memories to cherish and what a delicious beautiful meal she helped you prepare I love the way she made the noodles just precious.❤ loved that new little table, a blessed and a happy birthday, sweet girl❤
What a treat to have your Mother-in-law come to visit!! Her cooking looks fantastic! I love the new little table that Mike bought you for your Birthday! I like at the bottom of the stairs! It is one of those pieces that could fit anywhere! I know you and your family had a wonderful time together 😊. Time goes so fast. Hope she can return soon❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Oh how that reminded me of my grandma who was german.I grew up with this meal and still make it.We also called the spatzel machine a potatoe ricer.Your mother-in-law is so precious.❤
I throughly enjoyed this video. I loved watching you and your mother in law interact with each other while she was cooking. She’s a cute little grandma with a lovely accent. Loved the table that Mike gave you for your birthday. Happy birthday. 🎂🎁🎉🎊. Have a wonderful bless day.
I like your mother-in-law so much! She seems so fun! I grew up eating German food from my German Grandma. Delicious food! What a wonderful video. Brought lots of smiles and giggles 😊
Such a beautiful family. Your mother-in-law is so patient and it feels like she has a good heart. We make these dishes too, I'm from Romania, from Europe.
Andrea, your mother in law is truly adorable. As a young teenager I lived with an older german couple who took care of me while attending 9th grade. Clara was a wonderful cook and I always had sweets to eat after school. Apple cake and her plum cake were absolutely delicious. Clara and Heinz are both gone now and I miss them so.
I'm so glad his Mom got to come visit and you shared a great cooking experience with her. My mother in law was from the South and taught me so much about cooking! Supper looked truly amazing. Love your family!
What a beautiful memory you've made with your sweet mother-in-law. The food looks delicious and I thought it was very interesting that she added some broth to the potato salad as well as the tomato paste to the gravy. I would have never thought to add those things. I love that little table you have in your entry. Not sure if it blocks the stairs at all, but it looks like it was made for that space under the hats.
This video is pure treasure! What a gift! It was delightfully touching to watch & also made me salivate once the meal was plated! Everything about this video is joy! Thank you for sharing your Mother-in-Law with us, Andrea! ✨💖✨
Regina is a real treasure! So happy she could visit. And the food looked amazing and delicious. Her accent is the thing I love the most, my mom and her mom are German and listening to Regina sounds like my grandma. Love the content
I love Regina! What a sweetheart. She speaks excellent English . I wish you showed more of her visit she seems like a lot of fun. Does she watch your videos in Germany? Such a lovely way for her to be a part of your daily lives so far from each other. That food looked so yummy. She’s also so Blessed to have you for a daughter in law. Your a very beautiful special girl. Such a Blessed lovely family🙏🕊💕🌹
What a delicious meal! Your mother in law is precious! You are very blessed ❤️ I spent 3 yrs in Germany when I was in the Army and that food took me back. I could taste it as she was making up the plate. I might just have to give making schnitzel and kartoffesalat. Thank you both for this wonderful video!
I really enjoyed the video and learned a new way to prepare schnitzel. I live in Kentucky now but am originally from Germany. In every region of Germany food is prepared differently. My parents were from opposite ends of the country and so was their food. I learned several ways to make the same dish and they are all good. The gravy your mother in law looks delicious and I will add that to my recipes.
I grew up eating Spaetzle since my mother was from Pennsylvania Dutch Country as it was called back then. We used to eat potatoes and spaetzle and it was one of my favorites. Mom used to roll the dough between her fingers and drop it into the boiling liquid. One of the reasons I love going to Amish areas in Ohio, spaetzle is often on the menu.
What a lovely video! Your mother in law is so sweet. It brought tears to my eyes thinking of how I used to do this with my mom before she passed. Such a great way to create memories. ❤
hey girl- I just loved the video! 😁So happy to see your mother in law😉 Ooh all of the German food looked yummy to. Regina is a great cook😀👍 Y'all have a blessed weekend🥰

Cooking with someone special is always an unforgettable experience, and the joy of sharing this moment with others makes it even more meaningful. Your enthusiasm and connection with those you cook with truly shine. And I am Floating Village Life.
One side of my family is German and so is my husband. They live salt!! We make German potato salad. It has a cooked dressing that is celery, onions, vinegar water, and sugar. You add cooked bacon to it and flour to thicken. It is so good!
I adore Regina! She's so engaging and warm. Funny too! How lucky you are. I lost my mother in law after being married only 3 years. The food looks so good. My favorite is sauerbraten.enjoyed this so much!

Hi! I just want to tell you Ijust love your mother in law!! She’s terrific 😊
One side of my family is German and so is my husband. They live salt!! We make German potato salad. It has a cooked dressing that is celery, onions, vinegar water, and sugar. You add cooked bacon to it and flour to thicken. It is so good!
I'm from Germany too, it's so funny to see this video. I know the dishes, too. Kind regards from Germany. love your style. God bless you
So enjoyed watching you both cook today, Regina is a delight!!!
