First Responders usually drive their own vehicle, so I couldn't care less whether they buy an electric car, but they are a terrible idea for Fire Departments .. One of our local taxi companies uses Tesla's, and they are out of service about 75% of the time, as there isn't enough downtime to keep batteries charged. 36 hours of charging gets you about 3 hrs of driving.

No, I believe they also have diesel tanks in it as a precaution if it runs out of or doesn’t have enough charge.
The Amsterdam Fire Brigade had the same truck but they returned it to Rosenbauer in Austria a couple of weeks ago.
