Nope. Here in Australia its not cheap. Its predictable, stable, well known and fast.
But it means you get not a Restaurant Experience neither everyday food, but way to chew something anytime, anywhere in the world, and at least do NOT get problems, uneatable spicy etnic food or huge time waste. Its required very rare, so it does not allow to survive 10 competing chains with points on every corner.

If I had to pay nearly $20 for a Big Mac meal I would rather shell out a little more to eat a good steak at a nice restaurant. McDonald’s food is not worth that much money.

I used to hit McDonalds a couple of times a week. No more. I have completely cut fast food out of my budget. It just is not worth it anymore.

Crazy Taxi (set in San Francisco) back in 1999 taught me that. There was a guy who paid $200 just for me to drive down a road to a park in front of a Fila shop. It would've only took him a few minutes to walk by foot. $200 to drive someone the distance of a football field? Wouldn't want to live there.

My wife and I are retired. We visited Burger King recently and paid $25.00 for 2 Whoppers 2 fries and 2 cokes. We were shocked. Not going to make that mistake again. We can go to a sit down restaurant for that kind of money.

I am retired but run a small cattle operation (148 head) on our home ranch. We are not getting a penny more per pound since 2020, it was much better when Trump was in office, the price per pound i received was the same but my overhead was MUCH less.

Panera doesn't even qualify for the exemption, because they only bake frozen dough. They don't actually _make_ bread on-site.

Part of the problem is that even if a restaurant is exempt from the $20/hr minimum, they have to compete with the same labor for those who do have to pay $20/hr. Why would a person work at a place for $16/hr when they could go across the street and get paid $20/hr for essentially the same job?

I went by a breakfast drive thru around 2022, McDonalds metro Orlando FL. The food was about 80% the size but around 40% more than 2010s.

Paying 22 dollars for a poison meal(fake burger,Nasty fries and liquid Candy/sugar) is insane.
Not to mention all those toxic synthetic ingredients they put in their food like Yellow No. 5, Yellow No. 6, Red No. 40, Titanium Dioxide, Potassium Bromate, Azodicarbonamide and Brominated Vegetable Oil.
Multiple nations have banned them and the ones that aren't outright banned in the EU have acceptable daily intake (ADI) rules put on them. Some of them are outright cancerous and have been banned in the EU because of actual risks to public health. Even the WHO has rules and limiting recommendations for these toxins americans shove in their mouth hole on a daily basis. I mean, Skittles were outright banned in the EU and Mtn. Dew doesn't even have the same recipe because of it (not that they're especially good to begin with). Oh, and we should probably mention the american obsession with glucose syrup. It's in EVERYTHING. Went to Micky D's "once" last month, waited about 15 minutes for my order. They disrespect the word 'Fast Food'. Should be called 'Slow Expensive Food'.
Even brand new "high tech" McDs or QSRs take forever. You can tell when a large SUV or mini van pulls up; the ordering 🗣 will take 15min then the payment, food will take another 10, then they'll gripe about a item, charge or want a new item, 5-10min. This is partly why large QSRs are going to AI, machines. No EEO/racist complaining, no crying about privileges.
Remember the head of the California restaurant workers union crying about how “we did this” when the $20 minimum wage was passed? You think she’s still proud of what they’ve done? How many of her employees are now out of work? Well done liberals.

I'm a veteran on a special HUD program. Orlando.gov . My 2024 🏡 lease- amenities stipend nearly doubled: $152.20/mo. 😡 I'm required to pay for trash pick up(that I never used, 6+ years) & now 2024, a $70 wifi & cable fee I never asked for.

Wages were increased for certain fast food establishments in California. Companies responded by firing 10K+ workers, raising prices, and cutting hours for their employees.
Consumers have had enough of the price gouging and eat at these fast food establishments FAR LESS, if at all now. The profits of the same companies start to suffer because demand has suffered. Meaning the state of California will lose tax revenue from these establishments, their employees who were fired, and those who had hours cut. When the state has a $73B budget deficit and cannot account for $25B of money that's missing.

I live in Florida. There is a McDonalds near me that recently renovated & enlarged their location, which must have cost them a lot of $$$. It was always FILLED with cars lining up to place orders, morning, day & night. Now, for the past week, it's drive thru has been EMPTY!!! I drive by daily and see ZERO cars. ZERO CARS! It's shocking to see what has happened to McDonalds even right here in Florida - on the other side of the country from California. Two weeks ago I did the drive thru and saw my favorite sandwich is double in price, nearly $10. I drove on out without ordering. I like McDonalds, but their meals are not worth paying like one is buying an expensive cuisine quality dinner at a fine restaurant.
Whatever is happening in this country, the USA, is, in my sincere & humble opinion, completely destroying this country. Removing from our lives those things we have enjoyed and counted on for decades. If there's no more McDonalds, or Wendy's / Burger King . . . where will people work? Where will teenagers go for their first jobs? Where will people eat when going to work, to school, or grabbing a meal on the way home? This is actually really serious. You might respond by saying we should cook more at home, that you don't like McDonalds - but the loss of McDonalds and these other sources for easy and inexpensive drive thru meals is going to be a huge hit, a really bad blow, to those who work & go to school in this country.
Many FL area QSRs/quick service & casual dining places near me have either revised the decor, logo, style, menu or they scaled way back. Some closed, shut down 🏚 . PF Chang sold off Pei Wei diner 🥡. The new 2024 menu is 😏.
Fewer high school kids work part time jobs now. Parents appear to carry them thru. Then they go to college, where they think they're entitled to a six figure salary upon graduation. They scream and yell that they can't afford "housing/ rent". They've never learned to manage their income. I worked 2 to 3 jobs at a time the first 20 years we were married. The wife worked also. Our housing/ rent was always on the conservative side so we could save money. Going out to eat was a once a month treat, MAYBE. We didn't have a new TV, we had bare bones transportation, lots of used furniture, etc. Learned to do house maintenance, not all because I wanted to, but we couldn't afford to have someone else do it. Need to learn to make do, and if you want more, work more. As experience and skills are achieved, higher wages are offered. Not for today's society!! Several have showed up expecting not to do much at all, and get top dollar for doing it. Make them work, and they haul butt.

Last I heard 10,000 workers have lost their jobs. Newsome has pushed so hard for EV's that the income from the gas tax has dropped CA is already 60 billion in debt so Newsome is proposing a traveling tax 30 cents for every mile driven.
What’s crazy is the average pay per mile of semi truck drivers is 49cents. So is he taxing them too because he’d literally be cutting their wages by basically 2/3 and they’d only be making 19cents a mile and the government would be taking 30 cents.

My local Irish Pub give you a half pound burger with fries and a tall Beer for 10.99 I go to the bar now instead of McDonald's I'm loven it too!

I visited a McDonald's in South Lake tahoe California and spent 2 ours in emergency with food poisoning and the next 3 days vomiting and not sure which end to point in the toilet first. We have never returned to lake tahoe or any McDonald's store.
Residents, business and not being able to afford Calif anymore is creating a huge exit. Why not get rid of the one causing all the problems, our miserable Governor instead.

Everyone talks about high prices of food my wife was at cedar Sinai for surgery , i spent two weeks in Beverly Hills $ 8, oo- $15.oo for valet parking at restaurant nobody's complaining about that or down town L.A. near court house $ 7.oo a hour parking nobody's complaining about that !! Keep voting liberal & you will get more of the same . Calif will be a billionaire state the rest get out or you will be priced out of the state !!

In Florida the McDonalds QC goes up & down. In 2024 I'd say it's on a upward trend in terms of taste, flavor but the items are smaller. 🍟🍔🥤
