    In two decades of service, you get a lot of crap issued to you. Here are just about all the gloves the Army has issued to me.

    I've been using Bundeswehr version of those thin leather/nomex gloves for years for all sorts of outdoor use. Good compromise and excellent for handling open fire and hot pots and pans. Upgraded last year to US Masley gore-tex gloves and those are awesome! Bought also those winter flyers gloves but they turned out to be too narrow around finger tips and as a result colder than the basic Bundeswehr cold weather gloves. EDIT: So what I have now is what you showed around 07:10, but as far as I know they are fire-resistant according to Masley. They are made of nomex and goat leather and the liner is non-melt too. They are not rated for FIRE FIGHTING which of course is a completely different thing.

    I used Oakleys SI factory pilots when I was in the singapore armed forces as a rifleman. Here they only issue crappy leather weightlifting gloves that have good padded palms but exposed fingers and knuckles. Cant recall the number of times the knuckleplates on my oakleys prevented bone exposure.
    Anyway good video bro, cheers!

    Awesome video brother! That's really interesting seeing the evolution of the gloves that have been issued. Even though you were being shipped all over like an Amazon package the positive is you scored lots of new issues...right on ✊🏻↕️ Those NBC gloves would go great with my gas masks and other obscure gear. If no one else is interested in those I could make use of them. Take care!

    I’ve got a pair of those nomex winter flyers gloves, they work ok, if there was a thin liner for them they would work better at keeping your fingers warm. But they are comfortable, and bulky. Very cool video brother.

      thanks dude! I like em. They work for me hiking, camping, and working, because they're just warm enough while I'm moving around and I still have dexterity with them. Once I am sitting for a while, I go to mittens.

    Third winter coming up and they're still going strong.

    I have the ECWCS mittens too, for when it get's really cold out and I have some knock-off Nomex gloves that I like because of the dexterity. Would like to get the real military fire resistant ones for camping and bushcrafting. Cool gloves you got there. I have some of the wool fingerless gloves that I like a lot and bring camping all the time. And they're good for smoking a cigarette in cold weather.

    In 94 the Navy issued those same gloves. The black leather and wool. I’m sure I still have mine packed away in my sea bag.
    I had a pair of flyers gloves for 10-12 years. Sent my son out to rack and he ruined them. Oh well, time to get some new ones.
    This mittens are super warm.
    The Outdoor Research gloves and mitten they give out are super.

    I have bought 2 pairs of those Extreme Arctic N4B Mitts, The ones you pictured are the USAF Flyers Mitts with the extra large Cuffs made to fit over the N3B Parka made by Alpha or Greenbriar etc, If you get a pair of wool thinsulate gloves to wear as a liner to wear with them you won't expose your hands to the Cold if you have to take off the Mitt, Those Mitts were worn in temps down to -61*f and below according to the US ARMY Training Video's here on YT, Thanks for posting the Video, great info, and don't forget to add some cheap pair of those Wool Thinsulate gloves from Amazon to go with those N4B's.

    I'd like to see you try cold weather gear issued to other branches and compare it to Army. Personally, I think the waffle tops are far superior to that XGO stuff the Air Force gets.

  • @iPervy
    @iPervy Год назад

    I've been burning through alot of gloves. Everything from harbor freight/walmart and the such. Finally ended up finding some of the army combat gloves and man they really are awesome. Besides the velcro becoming unusable from fraying away the gloves themselves are holding up to heavy use. Nothing beats actual leather, and they're very dexterous at that as well. Haha can see how they heled up so well for you as they are for me as well.

    • @GruntProof

    Who in the fuck would want MOPP gloves? I spent days in those hot charcoal impregnated suits with my mask working 12 hours shifts followed by 12 hours in a shelter. You would pull off the gloves and dump a cup of sweat out of each one and then you where left with a pair of wet hands that take forever to dry
