I have a story to tell about the swan, which is said to be unable to break bones: My neighbor saw a dog with a fixator on the lower jaw in the Dietenbachpark in Freiburg/Germany. This is a very expensive metal surgical device that holds a broken bone together outside the body. Out of curiosity, she asked the dog owner what kind of accident his dog had. The owner related the following story: His dog was on the lake shore when a swan came out of the water, attacked and beat him and then pulled him into the water to drown him. The owner was able to prevent this, but the jaw was broken. Incidentally, the expensive operation was reimbursed by the city of Freiburg. The swans belong to the city and are insured. That is Germany!
Lacerta Bilineata He said, "a swan can't break your arm". Which is a much bigger and stronger bone than that of a small dog's jaw bone. It must of been a small dog, because a swan can't drag a big dog into the water.
