Walshy is pulling higher G-s wasting his energy, while Easty is always keeping it smoother. As a result we see Walshy suffering all the time and Easty holding him in the crosshair.
Agreed there is some work badly needed on the close range radar, this problem still exists in mid September. I noticed it wont lock in boresight or vertical until the target is within 4km. Also it takes about 3-5 seconds of being in the middle of boresight or the middle of vertical scan mode to lock. Vertical scan will not lock unless the target is within the two lines and also within the circle radius, so the f18 has major disadvantages to its f15 and su-27 counterparts right now, I would recommend waiting to purchase it until they fix that.
it means they are flying along the same heading in formation before turning 45 deg away each, so they are heading 90 deg apart, before turning into the fight scenario. ie in this case, it was a 1v1 defensive/offensive fight, so one jet becomes the offensive chasing the other jet, which is defensive, trying to shake the offensive jet off his tail and eventually gain the advantage and shoot him down.
Where they flying different Hornets? Hud's looks a bit different, and Easty seems to pull over 8g, but walshy only 6.. Or where they simulating other aircraft?
COSMOS He’s locking Walshy up with radar to get the accurate gun calculation. Walshy won’t get a warning from the aircrafts Radar Warning Receiver if an IR missile (AIM 9 or equivalent) is fired at him as it’s tracking the heat signature of the aircraft and as such, will not be using active radar to track the aircraft (meaning the aircraft can’t tell it’s been shot at). However, the RWR will alert him that he’s being spiked or locked by radar so it’s a safe bet that following a lock (in real life) a missile would follow shortly after. Long story short it’ll be for muscle memory more than anything else, they’re not using real chaff and flares so there’s a verbal instead of the physical chaff or flare.
COSMOS no dramas man! If you want to see for yourself, get an AI aircraft to fire at you from a distance with an AIM120 or something similar. You’ll hear your RWR when you’re locked onto. However you won’t get the missile warning tone until the missile itself goes “Pitbull” which means the missile is now using its own radar to track you and no longer relying on the aircraft radar. Then, set up a scenario in the editor where you’re dogfighting an aircraft with only AIM 9s, you won’t actually realise you’ve been shot at with one until you’ve been hit as the missile isn’t using its own radar to guide itself, so your RWR can’t distinguish between the enemy aircrafts radar and the missile.
@@nickryan4975 I have noticed that in the BVR 8v8 instant action and the bomber intercept for the su27 instant action. I'm like wtf I got shot, and then I started using my HAT switch to look around seeing the missiles coming at me. Hopefully can get trackir soon as I reckon that would help a huge amount.

Walshy on the toilet: shit shit, piss, shit shit
Nice too hear him pulling Gs. I’m glad you didn’t add some stupid music to this recording. Good job.👍🏻
Easty is a legend for that last fight
I love the gun hud footage from easty

George Kakashvili Easty held his energy much better and was able to convert to angles once Washly got slow.

@@MattWagner hahaha glad to see youre also an dogfight enthusiast :)
1:57 “One’s ready seven point seven”. I’m curious of the meaning of 7.7 is that fuel remaining. Appreciate any answers 👍🏼👍🏼
Correct that would be fuel state.
Great audiowalshy a lot more verbal than easty lol
easty is a natural, walshy is a trained pilot. need both to rule the world.
This was amazing
No. No Easty. Below the hard deck does not count ;-)
Hard deck my ass, we nailed that son of a bitch.
Hard deck, my ass! ;)
Great video, nice engagements. :)
This is awesome.
I more want to know what was on the HUD during the classified part, some mode we don't know about?
LFC Probably went slammer in visual mode.
or ACMI helper predict turn rate of target
Matt Wagner thoughts on how quickly the radar locks up vs. what we have in game?

could be a mode, or the terrain
Thanks Ralphie

Well Easty is clearly the man.
Hes Australia's top fighter pilot, CO 77 Squadron retired the F/A-18 last week. hes from NZ flew A-4 Skyhawks before they axe the fighter.
@@g.e.gaviationphotography419 Thanks, that's awesome. Do you know his name?

slickstrings Both were using AACQ ACM mode, although Easty went VACQ a few times.
tamw HUDs were different due to different declutter settings
Can someone tell me why flare when in a guns battle?
