I have the same trencher that you have, as well as the 9000 watt Predator generator, and a 2 inch semi-trash Predator water pump. I have owned all of these for about three years now, with hundreds of hours each, and they all still fire right up. I have purchased a few non-engine related parts for the trencher (I am hard on that machine) and they usually arrive within a week.

Why does the 173cc vertical shaft engine cost much more than the horizontal shaft 212cc engine? I just bought a horizontal for $89.
There are many more mowers than snowblowers, chippers, splitters and tillers out there. I see mowers out at the curb all the time.

I have noticed all vertical shaft engines tend to be more expensive than their horizontal shaft equivalents amongst all brands.
