Yeah, I think the problem is this format of short guest appearances, usually two guests individually, don't really leave enough time to drink. Norton's works much better because a) less commercial time and b) all of his guests are together.
We are in the golden age of late night. I never would have expected an interview this entertaining with participants I didn't know a year ago.

I just watched the second half of this clip and his insistence on continuing to defend trump if a little misplaced in my opinion and I half take back my previous comment. But ultimately I do believe Scaramucci is a result of this reality tv obsession our country currently is suffering from. So he’ll do anything to stay on tv and pretending to use his law degree.
Yo no joke, I hate Trump and everything about him and his administration but I kind of bang with the Mooch. He's non-stop defense of Trump is certainly off-putting, and he does say pretty dumb things at times, but I think it's his demeanor more than anything. He sits up there and gets cooked by everyone (deservingly so) but never loses his cool or throws a tantrum/starts cussing, yelling, walking off set... we don't have to hate everyone we disagree with, as both sides will have you think. The guy is a total greaseball but he's a greaseball you could sit down with an have a conversation, and that's what we need more than anything in this era of yelling back n fourth and temper tantrums on either side over every little bloody thing.

This is a really weird pairing but I actually like it. It shows that people with very different opinions actually CAN reasonably talk to each other and (mostly) calmly argue their points. And I'm also talking to you, liberals in the audience, who seem to be only interested in hearing Avenatti curse about and insult Trump and seem deaf to anything Scaramucci says...
I agree with you. While I am not in a country with such extreme partisanship that I can call myself a liberal or a conservative, I do support liberal issues while thinking that the Gvt should not have any jurisdiction to legislate on social matters. I think that if I was an American, I would be a liberal republican.
Therefore, as a (hypothetical) liberal republican, I don't like Trump, but I definitely would like to hear what Scaramucci had to say, and was annoyed that both the audience and Colbert cheered for Avenatti while drowning out Scaramucci. All opinions may not be valid, but all opinions should be heard on an equal platform.

There may a libertarian wing in the Republican party, but it seems to be the corporate cronies and lunatic fringe running things over there these days, not the libertarians.
I'm curious what you mean by 'liberal' though. Americans use the word a bit differently than Europeans do, I've noticed. In America, a liberal would likely be similar to a moderate democratic socialist in Europe. The other definition is more akin to what we call 'classical liberalism' which emphasizes civil liberties and free trade.
If you take the second definition of liberalism then you'd be what we call a Libertarian. Most libertarians vote Republican despite all the moral majority mess that's been grafted onto the party platform, which... really hasn't helped us much in the long run.
