  • This video was more fun to make compared to my findings.
    As the title suggests, we delve into the differences between these note worthy Ebike specific tyres.
    Expect a full written review which elaborates on the points raised.
    in the meantime, don't hesitate to reach out in case you have any questions or enquiries.
    One thing I will add which I didn't feel worth highlighting, was the price of each tyre. The reason for this is due to discrepancies between online retailers and bike shop prices.
    As always, I hope you enjoy and apologies for the length of the video 😅.

    Which ebike specific tyres are you using?
    Which emtb tyre would you consider as your next purchase?
    And finally, would you opt to use an ebike rated tyre instead of ebike specific?
    Comment below, let me know 👍🏿

    @Neeko DeVinvhi thank you for doing this video. You put in many hours of hard work purchasing the tires, installing them, testing them, shooting the videos, editing the videos, constructing your thoughts, selecting the music, etc. and it shows. I need to replace the tires on my Bulls eBike and had not even thought that I should look for eBike specific tires so I really appreciate that tip. I love Michelin tires for my car and truck so I’m hoping that they perform as well on my bike.

      Hopefully, the Michelin E-Wilds will give you 'peace of mind' when using your Bulls ebike.
      Ride safe my friend 👍🏿

    Thanks for the video; very well explained and layed out. I was deadset on eddy currents up until now... which tires would you recommend overall ? - I have a hardtail stumpjumper with a 750w Bafang :/

    • @neekodevinchi
      @neekodevinchi  2 года назад

      Apologies for the delay and many thanks for your kind words.
      Personally, I would recommend the Eddy Current if you want peice of mind and dont fancy messing around with punctures or flats.
      The E-Wilds I would recommend if your local trails/terrain varies. This will ensure that you get the best range in terms of battery consumption.
      Hopefully this helps and thanks again for your comment 👍🏿

      @@neekodevinchi No worries thanks for replying. Do you think they'r are better than Maxxis minions for the UK ? there's so many mixed opinions out there is tough to make a decision :/

    • @neekodevinchi
      @neekodevinchi  2 года назад

      To be honest (and I think I stipulated this in the video). One has to answer the question, 'Ebike specific, is it worth it?'.
      Maxxis (amongst other brands), do make ebike optimised tyres. The Minion DHF, DHR2, Asergai, Aggressor & High Roller 2 are examples. But it comes down to the longevity of the tyre vs the terrain you ride & value.
      Another note worthy tyre combo which is ebike optimised is the Schwalbe Magic Mary and Big Betty. I made a video about these tyres and the price (2 tyres for less than £40 from Merlin Cycles).
      To answer your question however, it would be meaningless for me to compare an ebike specific tyre against an ebike optimised tyre as each are designed and rated for different applications. But I do run the Maxxis Minion DHF and DHR2 or Assagai and DHR2 on my ebikes as well.
      Like most tyres, they perform decently as long as their is sufficient tread and knobs. When they wear out/down, its inevitable that a rider will need to invest in new tyres.
      The best advice I can give would be to prioritize in a decent rear tyre for a hardtail which is more likely to offer support and traction. Like the Magic Mary, Big Betty, High Roller 2 or DHR2. Then use an ebike specific tyre like either the E-Wild or Eddy Current.
      Hopefully this helps and just in case, I use an Eddy Current and Magic Mary on my Levo Hardtail with no issues after over 160miles 😀

      @@neekodevinchi Ah thats amazing thanks for all the info thats very helpful - i'll be sure to check out that video...... I'll also check on Merlin cycles. I'd never heard of them before.
      I've seen a few of your videos and you have some pretty amazing bikes. It was actually one of your videos that sold me on the 500c display for the bafang kit; i'm surprised they're not more common.
      Anyway thanks again for all the info - you honestly deserve a lot more subscribers .

    • @neekodevinchi
      @neekodevinchi  5 месяцев назад +1

      No. At the time when I did this comparison, Vittoria didn't have a their ebike specific tyres.
      It's also worth mentioning that Michelin have released a newer version of the E-wild which is much better👍🏿

    im running 2.8 27.5 rear e-wild and 2.6 29er front e-wild on my haibike and they are insainly good in any condition i even run them at bike parks they are awesome i even noticed range increase a fair wack using them to and ive gone over some nasty looking drive way shale gravel stuff down a lane and not one pinch flat or puncture at all

    • @neekodevinchi
      @neekodevinchi  2 года назад +1

      Fair play dude.
      The E-Wilds are truly a versatile emtb specific tyre and would be my go to ebike tyres on my Levo (27.5 & 29er).
      I'm aware that many riders have had similar experiences to what we have had in terms of longevity and durability so I'll always hold the Michelin E-Wilds in high regard.
      Thanks for the comment dude and you'll see the E-Wilds on upcoming emtb's I'm currently building 👍🏿
