Off the streets but not yet she will be allowed to have her baby, not everyone gets that privilege, the prison she will be in will have tv, games and luxuries like being able to email her family. Your empathy for Holmes is clear and quite admirable but I think the sentence she received was entirely appropriate. Lets not forget apart from the investors there were lots of people who were indirect victims of her criminality such as the patient who thought she was having a miscarriage when she wasn't, the people who thought they were well when they weren't, the member of staff who was bullied into silence then killed himself and was shown no remorse or consideration by anyone at Theranos, the whistle-blowers who were persecuted legally and personally. She showed no contrition or remorse until it benefitted her, she even used her own children in an attempt to garner sympathy and reduce her sentence. She had access to the best lawyers available and that gave her access to the kind of justice the vast majority of us could never afford. Life has given her opportunity after opportunity and she blew it.
Justice on this occasion has been well served.

Now she’s sentenced she’s appealing again. Given how the judge handled this trial…her appeal will fail. Believe in yourself. Surround yourself with positive people. You’re not a tree, you can move. Don’t make excuses. You weren’t put here to suffer, but you will know suffering. Use these trials and tribulations to strengthen you and grow into the best version of yourself. Always look at your choices like holding out both hands. In one hand is regret if you do, and in the other is regret if you don’t. Beware of the self pity trap. If you really want to change your life, it starts by changing your mind. You got this.

Once you do that, forgive yourself. 2.Understanding the different kinds of thinking errors and the one's you are prone to. You can then begin to work on the way you process triggers. 3. Example: when she was asked if she felt bad that she ran a company that made grandiose promises, produced nothing useful, and it hurt medical patients, her answer was, "It made me a better leader." My reaction was, "Oh whoopie sh*t for YOU!! Not one word for people that were misdiagnosed?" Justin, I’ve stumbled across your channel while binging on white collar crime documentaries, and I am truly impressed by the uniqueness of your channel. Most narratives lead us all to believe our lives are irreparable following a felony conviction, especially one that results in a prison sentence. I don’t know what your particular story was, but to have the grit, self discipline, and tenacity to not let your mistakes define you, to endure your punishment, and then emerge with a greater perspective on life, in addition to leveraging knowledge you honed while serving, is a triumphant underdog story. Our insecurities and worry of other peoples opinions drown us all, and it’s great to see you as an example of surmounting the obstacles that we create for ourselves. Best wishes as your channel continues to expand!

I watched your first videos on Holmes. One of the videos pertained to how best approach life post conviction, including what you discussed in this video. Everything you said in that early video proved to be reality. I’m one of those pleased for her longer sentence. The risk she posed to the health and welfare of the people using her technology was unforgivable, much less the people who worked for her and suffered from her and Balwani’s abuse. Lastly, I actually think that Balwani is slightly less responsible than Holmes - to me she is a Black Widow.

Holmes was convicted on 4/12 counts; Balwani was convicted on 12/12. Even though she instigated all of it, he is found more guilty. Something isn't right. His sentencing is Dec. 7 by the same judge; it's going to be interesting.

But that makes her dangerous and very likely to do this again to redeem herself in the eyes of everyone else. I worked with inmates for decades in state and federal prisons as a mental health professional. Considering her wealthy lifestyle, she will experience bouts of depression and there will days when she feels like she will never make it through her sentence. The people on the outside who continue to support her will be worth more then all the money she made. She is hated by millions of people and when she gets out some will remember her. I think she will continue to deny responsibility for what she did which means that she will feel that she is unjustly incarcerated. The only thing she seems to be sorry about is that she was not smart enough to avoid being caught. Men form very different relationships with one another than women when they are incarcerated. Women form micro families whereas men tend stay to themselves. Women want to know every detail about one another. She has two children, if she is bonded with them she will watch them grow without her and they will not know her. They might wind up hating her. It will be a long, lonely road, she needs to stay busy.

But your low-level job very likely REALLY matters. If you make stuff, if you drive, if you clean - whatever it is, it matters more than almost any high-paying job I can think of. Do us ordinary people need eye-wateringly wealthy bankers, fund managers etc? Nope. Do we need the ridiculously overpaid sports, movie and music stars? Hell no! Elon Musk, Donald Trump and every other rich businessman who manipulates business and tax codes to "succeed?" No. Remove them tomorrow and we'd not blink an eye. But remove the people who make stuff, move stuff around, put stuff on shelves to feed us and clean up after us - we need you. We really need you. And if you're doing it having given up the high-risk but easy money of crime then I salute the shit out of you, because it's us little people who make the world work.

I have been a Law Enforcement Officer now an Administrative Lieutenant for nearly 30 years and believe that if one breaks the law myself included they should pay the price and believe sir you have and came out the other side a successful citizen of society. I also think since you paid then society. and I certainly do not, should not hold your past against you. A question is will her husband stick around for all the years she's in prison? It's a hard thing to do and lots of partners don't. Also, if he divorces her will he sue for custody of the children? Probably. Again, lots of partners do and it can be hard and expensive to get custody once you're out of prison and done with probation. Some prisoners are barred from even supervised visits with children. So that's a whole other situation she may have to deal with.

Every male guard should be counseled to avoid her sexual advances, THAT would get her out. All of HER victims, she just pays lip service. Employees who outed Elizabeth Holmes suffered as well, everything she touched but her boyfriend and unnamed, unidentified participants in her fraud were hurt by her, a cheating, liar that is a complete fraud. Unbelievable she was able to receive such a short prison sentence that will very likely be much shorter than the 11 years. IF that was any one of us, our experience would be SO much different.

I have known of other examples of people who are either evil, sociopaths, psychopaths, or narcissists who also find loving and devoted spouses.

You seem to be rooting for her, encouraging her. I want to know why she ISN'T in custody, why she gets the kid glove treatment. My suspicion is the two-tiered justice system. An average Joe like me would have been led away in shackles. And I want so much to see this peacock in shackles. She feasted off of her clients and isn't sorry for having done that.

I was wondering about that as I saw a doco about a women who had to self surrender to federal prison at 35 weeks pregnant. However, Michelle's analysis broke the possibilities down - there may not have been room at MINTS (the mother and infant program) OR the judge may have been conscious about using more tax payers money paying for MINTS when she could simply start her sentence as soon as her baby is born without that complication.

@@thisisanaussiegal3590 lmao. It is not uncommon for imprisoned women to give birth unattended in their own prison cells and having the baby die because it fell in its head right out of the womb. So no, there does not need to be a MINTS or anything if the sort to put a pregnant woman in prison here in the US. It was only recently that they were allowed to unshackle their feet while giving birth! The system here is vicious and that’s what Elizabeth Holmes deserves. She was premeditatedly vicious with everyone she came across and the people that died as a result of her garbage medical equipment.
