Lol i've literally just watched that episode of top gear. I thought i've never driven over a double, found this vid and comment and laughed my ass off !
These are easy, but initially they are quite uncomfortable. This is because if, on the second mini-roundabout, there is a vehicle coming, then one needs to give way to it by stopping in the first mini-roundabout, which blocks traffic from entering or proceeding through it. It is uncomfortable because one is conspicuously and consciously obstructing traffic -- legally justified though one may be -- and this is an uncomfortable feeling; especially for the average inhibited English citizen who, like the Japanese, do not like this level of public attention, and shrink from strange and shunning eyes.
So I'm confused.. At 1:59 I can see the two road markings for the two lanes: left lane for left/straight-on, right lane for going right to Milton Keynes. But there are a bunch of cars in that right-hand lane to your right who are going straight ahead! So I (with my beginner knowledge) would have pulled out at 2:20 behind the car.) So are those drivers next to you in the wrong lane? And why are they indicating right if theyre going straight on? Im probably missing something obvious, havent had my first lesson yet.
I'm American and that double roundabout made me so nervous. Its the right turns that Im afraid of, but I understand more about giving away to the right. Its AMAZING how poelit english drivers are compared to us americans. Using indicators here means everyone is going to cut you off. Over here, up in Boston area, no one uses their indicators. I live in North Carolina, so its less dense and everything is spaced further so its easier to learn down here.
At the min 4:08 in this video is what I pointing it sir, where I did observe the second round about moved. But, officer said you didn’t observe and saw you not seeing. Honestly I saw moved but still I got failed at the last 6-7 mins back to test centre.
Hi I just have a quick question On mini and small roundabouts, if there is a give way sign and the road is clear, can we go ? Or do we still have to stop look and then go even though there are no cars coming There are a few of these in Bletchley
I get stupid nervous before a lesson. I feel sick and just ill until ive done my first roundabout. My instructor says im good with car control. Its just my road etiquette or watever. Knowing the rules and following them ect. What annoys me is im trying to listen and follow the rules but every ten mins i encounter a nasty driver. One who gets as close as possible to my back end then swings out to undertake me. Is it undertake or undercut. Swerve back in on my front bumper. A lorry did it once that scared me after i saw my instructor look like it was too late and went for the wheel. But realised ther was nothing to do. Daul carriage way 3 lanes splits off to junction to cross the other lanes. A huge lorry must have just been blindly following me. Cos i stopped at the junction and he just swung out in time i saw the drivers eyes in the mirror. Another time a fast audi saloon came flying cutting the corner i was already wide on. Our mirrors almost clipped. Totally his fault i was wide but still in lane. He wasnt. The worst was my old instructors fault she rushed me out of a junction when i didnt want to. But i went since she sounded p-off. The second i lined up in the left lane a ford focus screamed with horn on too past us rocking her audi a3. Instructor blamed the focus driver but i knew it was our fault. Hers for rushing me through. I was convinced that was the closest call ive had. Well until the lorry which felt the same. But that was his fault not watching the road i think.
+English-RC hi, sounds like a lot of talking points. Next time ask your instructor who was at fault and weather there was anything you could of done to help the situation. Over the years I have encountered lots of good and bad driving. See there situations as learning experience. Good luck with the lessons.

double mini roundabouts are the stupidest things ever. mini roundabouts are bad enough. A regular junction makes more sense
Or just a normal big roundabout

Wow, i've never seen worse drivers. They are all driving on the wrong side of the road. Terrible video.
Stiz anley 😂😂

Sometimes white lines are worn and can’t easily be seen, what then?
That’s a good question. If you practice then after a while you won’t need the white lines as you will know what to do.

Tayyaba Irfan if the road is clear then carry on and go. You only slow down and give way to traffic from your immediate right.

What's the purpose? Doesn't a single roundabout do the same job better?
So weird driving on the left side?
Why the hell dont we have this in the us it seems like this would help traffic flow thru espically in busy towns
Sorry but I don't think Trumpland will get this. This calls for civility which we all know is now lacking in the US.
got my test today
soo nervous
+Saima Naz good luck
Learn-to-drive Travis failed :(
Saima Naz I would laugh at you but I’ve got my test in 2 weeks and I don’t want karma
Don’t think I’ll ever understand these, so confusing, we can get one on test too
If you have these combination roundabouts near your local driving test centre, then they could be on a test route
