    1. Pre-poo by applying (olive oil to scalp, jbco to edges and) coconut oil to hair in protective style, leave overnight
    2. Next morning, wet and remove twists/protective style. Use moisturizing shampoo weekly, clarifying shampoo (i.e. African Black Soap) monthly to remove buildup
    3. Optional- Weekly deep condition for 15min with heat under plastic bag, finger detangle
    4. Last rinse with cool water to seal cuticles

    Love this video! I’m Latina with mixed babies and all have completely different textures. This is so helpful for me because I haven’t a clue what I’m doing. I’m all about the natural ingredients and use Shea butter and coconut oil but it’s also how to apply. My in laws offer help but it’s what works for their hair type, not my daughters. It’s so important to me that my daughters embrace their hair and their heritage. Thank you again!

    This video explains some things I've been discovering about how my high porosity, frizzy, soft 3c/4a hair works. I have found that when I do what you do: soak my hair in olive oil, then wrap it up to soak in for a minimum of 4 hours or overnight; shampoo it and then deep condition it for at least an hour, it looks like a completely different head of hair. I also braid and band it every night to retain length, and I finger comb it only. This way, it has stopped breaking off, and, since I make sure it dries stretched with a few braids held in place with bands, it no longer has a chance to shrink. It forms defined coils that stretch longer each night after shampoo night. The best deep conditioner for my hair is Pantene's Pro-V 3 Minute Miracle Deep Conditioner for Frizzy Hair, but since I can no longer find it, I'll try the deep conditioner you recommended. Thanks for doing this video!

    Thanks so much for your blog. It's so nice to see a high porosity hair RUclipsr! For the longest I just thought my hair was permanently damaged (which is unlikely because I have been natural for like 6 years now and don't use heat, do protective styling and keep my hair moisturized) I recently realized I just have high porosity hair that needs different TLC. thank for all your tips.

    I can’t wait til my hair is long enough to put in a bun...It will be a year in January that I’ve been natural. I still have a good amount of length just deal with a lot of shrinkage😒

      You'll be able to put your hair in a bun in no time!! Or have you tried stretching your hair before putting it in a bun? You can do the banding method first then attempt a bun.

    Hi I'm new here and I think I am working with high porosity hair so I stumbled across your video and love how simple your hair care routine is but I do have a question.
    In the beginning of your video:
    You use- extra virgin olive oil, black castor oil and coconut oil.
    Do you apply these products to your hair everyday before styling your hair? Or do you use them the day before you wash your hair and wash your hair the next day? I'm so COMPLETELY new to this curly hair thing and have no idea what I am doing.
    Thanks a bunch

    Do you recommend a hair steamer for high porosity hair?

    • @AfroKhadisiac
      @AfroKhadisiac  6 лет назад +1

      Hi Roselind, I steamed a long time ago on my transitioning & natural hair journey. The only reason I stopped was because I found that using a deep conditioning cap was just as effective as steaming, and it took a lot less time to set up. If you have one, it'll be fine to use. It will open the hair cuticle like a deep conditioning cap or hair dryer. I hope that helps!
