- Reddit user @ZaragozaMapping asked ChatGPT to design a racetrack, and another one was able to sketch out a circuit map based on the instructions provided by the AI model. This was of course then made into an actual Assetto Corsa circuit, for all of us to enjoy.
Reddit post that inspired the circuit:

wait, that doesn't make sense. 59 x 3.436km is not even 210km

No for sure It's longer
It's not a bad track at all, it could be added to the 2023 fantasy championship

Formula 1 OpenAI ChatGPT Grand Prix 2023
Idk, seems too high-speed for me. I wouldve liked for more medium speed corners atleast considering the length of the straights
I don't know man, the steepness of the hills could violate any FIA track rules and guidelines
Breaking news: Hermann Tilke was fired and replaced by ChatGPT
To be fair this was a better circuit than a lot of Tilke tracks.

When Suzuka Imola and Monza have a child
With Hungaroring and The Corkscrew joining mid-action
I was thinking Suzuka, Spa, and Monza.
Mont-Tremblant
@@LeonardoAld sus
its a very wide track, feels like Imola's weird layout with Monza's wideness and super long straights. Nothing to do with Suzuka imo
Looked pretty good to me. A couple of good overtaking opportunities, changes in elevation, challenging middle section.
I think at least one of the straights should be a bit longer, but who am I compared to ChatGPT.
I've seen worse. Middle sector looks fun to drive. Elevation changes make it interesting. Maybe the second straight should be more 'hairpin-esque' but overall better than most Tilkedromes.
Definitely needs Monza first corner vibes on one of those straights
Totes agree
What do you guys think about this circuit? I think it's kind of trash to be honest, a lot of full throttle sections and not very technical.
Yeah its pretty bad. Elevation changes aren't terrible, first set of turns are okay, but that set of fast and flowy turns after the second straight are really REALLY awkward (like Miami).
The sudden elevation change in the middle of turn 1, the blind crest into turn 2, the braking zone and apex hid by the subtle crest at the end of the second straight, the fast flowy but slightly awkward esses that makes getting a perfect or easy run through them difficult, the chicane breaking up what could be a straight (easy to go off if you over commit) and the hairpin after the final straight all make this a decently technical circuit as far as modern F1 tracks go. It's honestly a fairly perfect track for current F1, just needs a few adjustments to the high speed sections.
@@MUCKLEECH the esses aren't really like miami at all.
Certainly it's not made for F1. But MotoGP and Indycar might like it.
Looks like a fat Grand Valley Speedway from Gran Turismo games
I feel some of the heavy braking zones need sharper corners to help overtaking. Like T1 and T3 could be sharper. Otherwise I really love it.
I like it, lots of variety as well as clear passing opportunities. Only thing is for grade 1 you need more run-off on turn 1.
Would still probably be better than most of Tilke's tracks in terms of racing

I'm not really sure about Turns 1 and 2. But after that it's a pretty decent circuit.
You know what? Not bad
Its a great looking course. Reminds me a lot of a mix between Mosport, Mid Ohio and Road America
I think this track would fit better backwards. Better breaking zones, excepte T1-T3 that would be thrilling when in parallel. The run off areas would make more sense, specially last corners (the original T1-T2)
Reminded me of an older Gran Turismo's original track.
Perhaps one of the best track in a racing game. Fast corners and S bends and some straights too.
Gives me barber motorsport park vibes tbh
The joker-themed kerbs lmao
looks great, better than most of the tracks on the current calendar. I would only change the chicane to make it more like turns 4 and 5 at monza.
Looks like Imola.
Also, turns 1 and 2 look deadly.
The track layout is similar to Monza and has a lot of high speed corners, could've used a few slow speed corners after the long straights but its an ok track
looks actually good. End of S1 and S2 are really sick tbh😮
Better than Miami
It's no Spa or Suzuka, but not bad at all really. But I think I would prefer humans to design race tracks
Tbh this track looks like it has been taken straight out of the 60s or 70s. Really has that "old flowing track" feel when watching.
right ear: accelerating
left ear: decelerating
Man I can’t imagine ChatGPT designing a track. I think Herman would be jealous looking at this!
This is actually a really nice track. Way better than most of Tike's designs that for sure. Maybe F1 should just save a buck and get AI to design the newest tracks for them instead of hiring Tilke all the time.
Honestly , this tracks seems pretty awesome thoo
That 2nd sector is fire
OMG, the blind Apex Turn 2 is amazing
Seems like a good track, only changes id made is to put a few corners in camber to improve the flow and widen it in a few places
this track looks like if you told someone to draw spain from memory
Lots of space, lots of high speed sections, lots of overtaking opportunities, and of course, a few small corners to prevent cars from going overspeed. This track has everything for a fun and entertaining race.
I like how pit lane entry flows with the racing line but exit is off the racing line. Nice to have a clockwise circuit start with a left-hander to keep things interesting. Elevation changes and blind corners but there still seems to be enough run-off. A forested circuit holds moisture in the air and can make conditions trickier and foggy in the wet. The circuit seems to be very flowing, which drivers would love. But you'd need DRS because some of the faster corners are too fast for out braking maneuvers. I wouldn't necessarily change the layout because of that though, because a safety car could be called on for a blind corner incident and that'd make things interesting in the race. One thing I would change though is I'd extend the layout to somewhere between 1m25 to 1m 30s lap time. Less lapped traffic to deal with on a tricky circuit.
Needs more runoff to get the FIA grade 1, but layout-wise it feels like a mini Nürburgring. Very natural and flowing.
It's like most ChatGPT things, nowhere close to a masterpiece, but not bad, although I think it would probably be better for GT cars than open wheelers.
Yeah the chicane was brutally fast. Its a lot like Dragon Trail (a track from GT Sport which is very fun, I would reccomend giving it a go if you have GT Sport or AC), where it would be good for F1 but the chicanes are 4th, 5th or even 7th gear.
Some run offs look tight, bit overall very flowing!
gotta iron out the sudden change near the approach to the pit straight but its a solid fun design
The ai read to many Porsche forums talking about lift off oversteer
Put it on a flat surface with 2000s f1 cars and its perfect
If it was chatgpt that designed that pit entry it definitely begun trying to kill humans
Looks like a brilliant track
I saw a combination of LeMans, Spa Francorchamps, Monza and the Gilles Villeneuve circuits
Great track… a.i. You’re not an enemy at all!
It did a good job. Cross Autodrom Most with Monza and you get this cool circuit.
The turn 1 and 2 remind me a lot to Grand Valley Speedway in Gran Turismo 🤩
Tighten some of the radii add a hairpin after the 2nd straight and make a heavy braking chicane on the back straight and it's perfect
Hello there, I'm the dude that posted the ChatGPT post on the RTD subreddit. Rad to see content about this!
Hey man, you started and created something great!
Lovely to see a track made out of your post, let me know if you want me to credit you by your Reddit username if preferred.
😁
@@Mitsos1311 I'd appreciate some credit :)! Crediting me or not is up to you
@@_marquisofaragon Done! Let me know if it's correct, I was initially planning on adding your username but was nervous about breaching any privacy or whatnot. Thanks again! :)
It has element of Bathurst, Suzuka, old Mexico city and old hockenheim
You know what , do a race, this might be interesting.
Had that old hockenheim and spa vibe tbh
It has proper elevation changes and corners! Which makes it better than all the Tilkeodromes with 90 degree kinks.
Just needs to be wider IMHO.
These custom tracks are the best!
Great track I think this would be fantastic in real life
The long straights reminded me of the old Hockenheim..
Absolutely brilliant track just needs some heavy breaking zones to promote overtaking
Max will lead the race with 5 seconds after lap 1 and I'LL LOVE IT
It’s actually quite good, think the kerbs could made a little smaller and the first chicane made tighter for better overtaking
How tilkes son made Jeddah
Turns 1-2 remind me of an early sector on the NBR
Long and flowing with a number of DRS zones. Noticed it's a combination of some circuits.
It reminds me of the old Hockenheim Ring
Reminds me a bit of Grand Valley Speedway from Gran Turismo
Not enough run offs, pit entry is in a dangerous place, and stands in the line of fire of crashes. Very dangerous, but nice feel to the track.
Maybe if the kink on the long straight was removed, this would be an ace track.
Lagune Seca, Road America and a part of the "Nordschleife Nürburgring" in one Track!
Looks like a formula Indy circuit, it could explore more sharper corners with less tolerance.
Reminiscent of portimao in the first sector with all the elevation changes lol
The best tracks on AC right now are Doublezero's. Tucuru is probably one of the coolest circuits I've ever seen.
Imagine if Tilke actually has been using Chat GPT for years...
It's funny, because a very new-spanking technology has designed a very old-style circuit.
It's like a Monza-Silverstone hybrid, I like it!
How did it make this? Did it just draw a shape and you made it into a track? Or is it something else?
In the description you can find the original Reddit post, where someone asked ChatGPT to design a circuit and ChatGPT listed out a bunch of details about the track. Then someone in the comments took those instructions and sketched out a circuit map. Then someone on RaceDepartment made it into an actual track mod that can be driven on
@@Mitsos1311 Oh that’s cool that the actual track idea was made by ChatGPT
that braking zone at 1:02 looks light a nightmare to get right.
It would make a real solid racing circuit for GT or normal cars, F1 cars would probably already broke their wings
The track length makes me miss combination of Adelaide and Sebring.
Tbh seems pretty good, better than several on the schedule now lol
Reminds me of a less-hairpiny Barber Motorsports Park
That pit entrance looks a little bit dangerous
It definitely has potential, I like turns 1 & 2
The run down to 3 could be shortened a tiny bit and 3 could be a 90° turn.
Kinks of turns 4 & 5 are alright, Right hander of 6 is good, Then a longer straight followed by a 90° left
Everything after that is quite good
Maybe the final corner could be optimised to improve overtaking chances into 1 & 2
I see Montreal, Hockenheim, Adelaide, and a little bit of Monza here
Die zwei Geraden haben etwas Flair von der alten Hockenheimstrecke.
Very short Nordschleife and a little bit Brands Hatch
To all those saying ai should replace tilke you must understand that tilke has to work around the geography of the area given to build a track it isnt as simple as just sketching a track on a piece of paper
I liked it. I ain't a huge fan of super high-speed tracks, I prefer the mid-speed ones, cuz the seem more technical and are more dependant of driver's talent, but this track is cool.
Decent. 3 DRS zones, but not much in the way of technical aspect.
Feels like a 1950's track.
Feels like a rally track
Pit entry looks a bit too dangerous :,D
Looks like a mix between Nurburgring and Le Mans
Very good track without Tilke's 90 degree turns everywhere
not bad, as of right now i feel that this track would suit indycar well
I love it of this Circuit
Looks great to me
There is too much straights(i think), and I really miss the thechnical parts ahad of overtaking oportunities. I dont like the simle DRS manuvers, and i think that some good thechnikal parts(where you can prepare youre overtake) can improve racing.
Imola, is that you?
I missed some low-speed corners
I would have put in a jump after turn 5 but apart from that great.
The only reason we cant see a red bull in yhis clip is due to the multiple DRS zones and high soeed corners on this track
