This is the kind of stuff that makes people want a robotic arm. It's possible that in the close future, circa 2025 give or take, people start changing body parts just because, like they already do with plastic surgery nowadays.that for sure would cause some sort of backlash. Wait..
not really, just looks cool. still have yet to see if it will go anywhere. having the the yechnology to let an amputee manipulate a robotic limb is the realistic highlight of the video.
Really cool! Awesome that they are doing it open source too. This really sets a new standard for merch stuff. On a whole other level than the usually gimmicky things. Like the pip boy for fallout 4 or that "iconic" watch_dog cap.
Since I was a child, I recall seeing a man who lost his arm with a claw and thought (it is 1968, why can't science do better than that). I didn't realize I'd have to wait so long to see it (Thank heavens that I didn't have a personal need). But I'm thrilled to see these advances. The people who are doing this research should be proud, especially the ones looking to keep the costs down for the end users.
Herizon zero dawn and watch dogs are coming out 2017. Deus ex is coming august 2016. There's going to be a big gap. I'm sure you're wallet can handle it lol.

Big credit to Eidos Montreal for getting involved in prosthetics for amputees and people without limbs. It's a very worthy cause. This video about prosthetics makes me appreciate the human body even more. If I wanted to flex my hand, I think it, the brain sends the signal to my arm, and the hand reacts almost instantaneously. What an amazing machine the human body is.
Joel Gibbard (Open Bionics CEO) is the real life Hugh Darrow. Let's just hope that 20 years down the line things are brighter for him than shown for Darrow in HR. But this is seriously amazing. The future might be Deus Ex.
The idea is fkn mindblowing, but dont forget that every advanced tech is used for military research. Open source might not be the best solution but thumbs up for me as robotics engineer and Deus Ex fan.
What about using sensors (in the form of a glove or something) on the human hand to simply make the robot one mimic its movements in real time, could be a pretty cheap alternative, could call it the "Mimic".
I cried like a baby now!!! Is this the real life? is this a fantasy? I'm doing engineering and what have I done to contribute to this kind of a future?
I would suggest playing Human Revolution before Mankind Divided. Its a brilliant game and should be really cheap by now. Plus, it tells the story of how Adam Jensen got his augmentations and it gives you a feel for the character.
I recomend playing human revolution before spending 60usd on this. You can probably find it for a cheap price, and then if you enjoyed that one you can play the new one.
i had few years ago acident with my knee one in both legs and dislocated the knee cap of one and now they few burning and i just remember me if i need cut they of what i gonna and have something you can run and punsh and what ever ? for most crazy this look like i likke my legs
soo that why this game have been relased to help you with these amazing arms for people who lose his own very amazing (btd i like this thing to help people) sorry for bad english
this level of technology is impressive , however people and the companies behind these innovations must take great care in how the perceive and implement them. to be clear there are two very distinct and very fine lines that must never be crossed : 1st only individuals born without limbs or those who've lost limbs due to accidents, deformaties, etc will be eligible for this tech - to insure that healthy people with complete fully functional limbs can't run to the nearest chop shop to willingly mutilate themselves just to get access to them. 2nd military interests must not be allowed to influence policy regarding these devices - keeping in mind that these replacement limbs are meant only to replace missing limbs , not to be weaponized and deployed in advanced warfare projects. these lines must not be crossed or else the subject matter of this game could indeed become reality.
Very good points! I think in this game they explore when people is forced to be chopped to get a prosthethic and become some sort of army/company puppet
***** well I posted the comment like 20 seconds into the video dude so implying that I'm mentally challenged doesn't exactly make sense without any depth of the circumstances in which I posted the comment
+Youtoob celery jason genova well I was suspecting it to be just another game trailer. because in the past the have made hyper realistic trailers so it was natural to be confused when they started talking more realistic
One day we don't need to send soldiers. We can control robots from a distance with motion sensors suit with some sort of vive on our head. Sup for playing video games, we can go in real war and not die.
Deus Ex was one of my favorite PS3 games. This looks awesome! I don't need all the foul language. I liked Uncharted 4 but all the cursing was just odd in that game as well. Are they trying to match the potty mouth teens from online games?
50 years later ~
RUclips: How game predicted the future
Correction, how games "made" the future.
Right on lol
So true m8
This is the kind of stuff that makes people want a robotic arm. It's possible that in the close future, circa 2025 give or take, people start changing body parts just because, like they already do with plastic surgery nowadays.that for sure would cause some sort of backlash.
Wait..
At the rate technology is progressing I can see it being 5 years later.
fucking holy crap. This is real right? cause holy crap.
It's real lol
not really, just looks cool. still have yet to see if it will go anywhere. having the the yechnology to let an amputee manipulate a robotic limb is the realistic highlight of the video.
Nothing else man made on this planet can reach this level of evolution. Only gaming can bring this type of change.
Did you forget about movies?
+longlivingdude Na L
I dont feel movies enspire as much forward movement as much as they enspire feelings. There is far more work going into a video game in my opinion.
It would be so anticlimactic if the horrible events that happened in Deus Ex actually happened in reality.
We live in a huge world of discrimination. Maybe not on robotics, but many on other things. Sucks that people are like that.
Don't worry, it will.
and we'll get to replay the game, while it all unfolds
So you call millions of augmented people going insane and beating everyone they see to a bloody pulp anticlimactic?
+Fedora Whale Yeah because you expect them to be normal
Right. Time to chop off my arm and buy a 3D printer.
i would buy the printer first
+blackvial Arm lopping first, think later.
+blackvial this man gets it.
Dude just have a third arm
Lmfaooo
Really cool! Awesome that they are doing it open source too. This really sets a new standard for merch stuff. On a whole other level than the usually gimmicky things. Like the pip boy for fallout 4 or that "iconic" watch_dog cap.
"defining the future" that givies me chills

I actually have goosebumps after watching this... absolutely fantastic... wow
Ok when can I expect my auto roll sleeves then?
October 2015
KronoTek do you have one?
Preorder bonus?
autosleeves rollout!
That's insane dude!
Absolutely amazing.
Watch Dogs 2, Zero Down Horizon, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. Lord have mercy on my wallet...
You and me both.
Amen to that!
Herizon zero dawn and watch dogs are coming out 2017. Deus ex is coming august 2016. There's going to be a big gap. I'm sure you're wallet can handle it lol.
+Kenshin Himura Watch Dogs 2 comes out November of this year.
Domingo J HZD was supposed to come out this holiday season too. I wouldn't be surprised if watch dogs 2 got delayed as well.
Technology is truly an amazing thing. The possibilities are endless.

This is legit awesome, starting to get a little more invested in the game just from a conceptual standpoint. Keep it up dudes!
Joel Gibbard (Open Bionics CEO) is the real life Hugh Darrow. Let's just hope that 20 years down the line things are brighter for him than shown for Darrow in HR. But this is seriously amazing. The future might be Deus Ex.
Your going to have people chopping thier arm's & shit off on purpose now lol
It's nice that their doing this and perhaps it will be world wide
BEST MARKETING CAMPAIGN EVER!!!!
ah man hope they go a hundred percent thru with this, will change so many lives.
$100,000 Deus Ex: Mankind Divided bionic arm pre order edition
是嗎我覺得很不錯看喔。
That Korean guy at the end was hilariously exited ☺️😂
How wouldn't you be excited for technology like this?
+FSXflyermaster true but i just love his exitment :D
WOW, looks amazing! Very interesting!
who else wants a genji arm?
Fuck yea
I want a McGee arm with the gambler skin, could play cards anywhere, any time
So, a useless arm?
*2 years later*
Some youtuber: Playing fortnite with 100 hands
I seriously would prefer this kinda arm over my arm. I almost feel like blasting off my arm so I can have a prosthetic. Dumb idea.
It begins!
The soundtrack for this game will blow me away!
that's mad fucking cool. Good luck with those projects.
What is the soundtrack of this video, can you share it?
When a videogame company that made a game about a dystopian future world ended up making state of the arm bionic limbs in real life
The idea is fkn mindblowing, but dont forget that every advanced tech is used for military research. Open source might not be the best solution but thumbs up for me as robotics engineer and Deus Ex fan.

so hyped, Im going to cry
Hugh Darrow... "A lovely photo op... Wouldn't you say??"
Adam..... "Only if it works"
Hugh..... "You mean if it doesn't kill us all".....
I shall henceforth buy all their games in support of this effort
song 2:23 pls ?
I'm going to buy this game to support this
Wow, this is incredible.
Where can I get this hand in Switzerland?
I cried like a baby now!!! Is this the real life? is this a fantasy? I'm doing engineering and what have I done to contribute to this kind of a future?
human body such a magnificence
Have something similar in development and technological advancement for the foot, ankle, foot collar ??
Will I enjoy this game if I've _never_ touched a _Deus Ex_ game before..?
I would suggest playing Human Revolution before Mankind Divided. Its a brilliant game and should be really cheap by now. Plus, it tells the story of how Adam Jensen got his augmentations and it gives you a feel for the character.
I think so you just may be a little lost
you may be a bit loss if you didn't play the last one but you shouldn't be lost
I recommend playing Human Revolution first since Mankind Divided is a direct sequel to Human Revolution but still a prequel to the 2000 original.
I recomend playing human revolution before spending 60usd on this. You can probably find it for a cheap price, and then if you enjoyed that one you can play the new one.
I love technology i am working to build something like in video games too
I'm glad I watched this
gotta hand it to them, did a pretty good thing.
Never played Deus Ex but I always loved it's art style as a game artist, is it to late to start playing the game?
It's never too late. Aspecially that you can buy human revolution just for few dollars/euro/pounds/pln... Whatever currency you use.
I have a leg missing I love have a leg like this
So how far have they come for it
soon everyone can be an assassin... with those kind of arm XD
It's pretty cool
Archotech prosthetics here we come :D
I just want a Winter Soldier arm
Kinda weird though how their whole game is based off of augmentation discrimination & then they actually work on it
I'm a bit confused if this is real but if it is AMAZING!!
FUCK YEAH video games.
I really do hope the game is not going to be a dissapointment honestly, but so far all those background stories and plannings look decent.
i had few years ago acident with my knee one in both legs and dislocated the knee cap of one and now they few burning and i just remember me if i need cut they of what i gonna and have something you can run and punsh and what ever ? for most crazy this look like i likke my legs
Just wait for the day where people are replacing their perfectly functional arm(s) with bionic ones
Will I need Neuropozyne to use one of these?
*mixes sugar water into bottles and sells to people at a high price as No-poz*
but can I punch holes through walls with it?
This is really cool and all but am I the only one getting a hint of irony?
All they need is Colin to weaponize it.
AWESOME!
can I wear it on.my normal hand, or do I need to chop it off
Badass that Video games are progressing the real world of Cyborgs!!!!
They need to make an anakin one
Now build me a Typhoon
soo that why this game have been relased to help you with these amazing arms for people who lose his own very amazing (btd i like this thing to help people) sorry for bad english
How about an arm like Guts from Berserk!
Is this native advertising, or is this real? I can't tell. . .
I need one! How can I do?
I'm Brasilian
hm Next goal, earn money to buy their product so they can continue researching
3:08 HE A BLOOD GANG GANG GANG. 🔴🔴🔴🔴🔴🔴 🅾🅱
You should be usefull tothe world and stop acting like a child fighting over worthless things.
lol
Alexis Gomez I'm talking about gangs you fucking muppet.
I'll cut my two arms right now.
Why does Min Liang-Tan sound like a narrarator for a game
You'll know this tech will have arrived when people start willfully amputating their limbs for it.
they should made a iron man edition
or a winter soldier one
+Harry Hynder or a Big Boss stun gun arm
they did!
At which point did the video became real? o_O Was it real from the get go? If so, you are awesome people.

is this the game or what I'm so confused
***** well I posted the comment like 20 seconds into the video dude so implying that I'm mentally challenged doesn't exactly make sense without any depth of the circumstances in which I posted the comment
+Youtoob celery jason genova haha
+Youtoob celery jason genova well I was suspecting it to be just another game trailer. because in the past the have made hyper realistic trailers so it was natural to be confused when they started talking more realistic
бля, а про че видео ?
Is this real??
well I should start saving money for this shit! Its amazing :D ( fuck regular limbs xd )
Are they trying to match the potty mouth teens from online games?
wtf
Dude, no one cares.
anyone else what a woman with bionic legs?
Dat bionic butt
anyone have an axe or blade at the ready I can borrow
fullmetal alchemist 👌
If I was God, I will be pissed.
Nope, if i was god, i will be happy of companies trying to produce low cost prostetic hands to help others.
Marlon Jose Meh, it won't work for me unless if I saw Terminator Genisys.
I would volunteer to be a genie pig!
✋😁✌️
HAIDARA!....oh wait...
Holy shit
Welp time to cute my arm off
