Bought without playing, so a little anxious about the short scale of the four string. Yours is multi of course, but it sounds good to my ringing ears.
Sounds like a piccolo base because the string deflection from that fan fret. I think it could be a gimmick. Everything sounds like it's a piccolo base or it's a slap sound which is an effect kind of like a sitar I think these fan frets are a trend good to have a couple of them around.
Damn man you can shred that thing ! I plan on getting a shortscale , for just how easy it will be to play especially with the lighter weight , compared to my 6 string 37" scale . I wasn't a fan of the pickups on the fullscale model , but yours sounds great . Are they the same bartolinis I believe ?

Yes. I believe so. They are cool basses.
This is the short scale model, so the correct measurements are 812mm/32" on the B string to 762mm/30" on the G string.

Does your tone control work correctly? Mine just seems to drop the volume without a distinct tonal change.
