    Hi Tony, great video. Comparing the old N87 model and the new N60-6 which one would you go for? They are quite close in terms of price and I'm wondering which one would be best. I don't have an intercom system but I do wear earbuds sometimes when I'm riding. Thanks!

    • @sportsbikeshop
      @sportsbikeshop  2 года назад +1

      Hi Nick. Thanks. I think the N87 is still slightly better all-round as the lining is nicer and the strap fastener is the dual-locking design rather than the single-pull system on the N60-6. But I don't think there's much between them, so I'd make my decision based on fit and price at the time. Cheers, Tony

    Hello Tony,
    Thank's for your comprehensive and honest presentation. I had looked for the same on French websites (no one is perfect 😉) but couldn't find any... Besides, I love hearing beautiful English...
    I agree with you. Why spend more when you're looking for a simple, comfortable helmet? I had the N86 before and preferred the N60-6 because I never use an audio system... too dangerous because it distracts... and on our roads, it's a blow to end up in a truck or in a ravine..

      Thanks - I'm glad you found the review useful. I agree about trucks and ravines. Either of those scenarios can very much taint one's day 😊 Cheers, Tony

    Love all of this apart from the L to 3XL having the same shell - makes my L a bobblehead :-( . I've have an older Nolan and it's a great lid.

    I have a question about the shell sizes of the NOLAN N60-6 Helmet.
    I understand that it has 2 shell sizes, XXS - M and L - XXL. My question is, is there any difference between the inner shell between L, XL, and XXL? Because I was given the L helmet with XXL foam and the retail store said that it's compatible. But I feel like it's a bit tight. Can you confirm?
    Thank you, great review!

    • @sportsbikeshop
      @sportsbikeshop  Год назад +1

      There are several sizes of EPS liner for this helmet and the one for XXL-XXXL is different from the one in L. It's possible a foam lining from XXL fitted into an L would work, but I can't say for sure as Nolan don't list the foam thicknesses or say whether all liners are interchangeable. If it's too tight I would take it back to your retailer and ask for their assistance. Cheers, Tony

    Nice video! Do you have any idea why the N60-6 is lighter than the more expensive N80-8 though?

    • @sportsbikeshop
      @sportsbikeshop  2 года назад

      There are some added 'luxuries' in the N80-8 that probably explain the weight difference. Things like the retraction button for the sun visor, the provisions for the N-Com system and adjusters in the liner. I hope that helps. Cheers, Tony

    I am considering getting this helmet shortly. I have a Sena 20S evo that I use across my multiple other helmets and was wondering if I could add the 20S adapter kit (speakers, mic and mount) on this one. Surprised to hear they have not provided recesses for the bluetooth speakers in the helmet.
    How hard do you think it is to fit a 20s evo speaker kit in this one? Thanks in advance

    • @sportsbikeshop
      @sportsbikeshop  2 года назад +2

      In short - possible (probably), but not easy. Longer answer - with the speakers it'll depend on how much room you have inside the helmet and how comfortable you are with speakers in contact with your ears. I think you'd also need to use the self-adhesive plate mount for the unit itself as there's quite a broad plastic trim around the base. When you do this it makes it tricky to swap the 20S between helmets as you'll need to unscrew the electronic parts every time you want to swap from a helmet with the clamp mount to one with the self-adhesive mount. I hope that helps you. Cheers, Tony

    i have the 60-5,its good but it has very bad ventilation.i had the airoh valor that had good ventilation ,but the chin guard was very close and in high speeds was touching my nose.can you suggest a helmet with very good ventilation for the greek hot summer?not very expensive.and i dont care if it is adv. type.but not an open type or motocross.and i dont care about inner sun visor.thanks!

    • @sportsbikeshop
      @sportsbikeshop  Год назад +1

      That's a very difficult task. Ventilation is often one of the weaker areas on entry-level helmets because the plastic shells aren't so well suited to having large vents. I don't recall wearing a budget helmet like this that offered excellent ventilation. Apologies for being unable to help. Cheers, Tony

    hello Tony, I want to ask, in the picture for the N60-6 gold black/GOLD helmet it has a gold-tinted visor. Is that supplied with the helmet or do you only get a clear visor. thanks

    • @sportsbikeshop
      @sportsbikeshop  3 месяца назад +1

      I think you're looking at a Nolan N60-6 Sport, which has a spoiler on the back that's not on the straight N60-6. That comes with a clear visor as standard, not the gold one shown in Nolan's picture. It's another £67.99 for the visor, which is listed separately here... www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/342551 That visor is not road-legal, so is sold for track use only. Cheers, Tony

      @sportsbikeshop thank you very much for your fast reply Tony. May I ask another bike-related question.
      Where is the best place to hide a bike tracker on the bike?

    • @sportsbikeshop
      @sportsbikeshop  3 месяца назад +1

      No problem to ask, but I think the best man for that job is John at BikeSocial. His guide on trackers and how to install them will give far wiser advice than I could... www.bennetts.co.uk/bikesocial/reviews/products/security/trackers/best-motorcycle-tracker#4 Cheers, Tony

    Hi Tony,
    Let me make 2 points:
    1. Im always looking at helmets and I always look for your review on it. So simple, yet so informative.
    2. I find conflicting info, does the N60-6 come with the chin guard and/or breath deflector in the box? Seems like a weird thing to cut expenses on...
    The weight is so appealing over the n80-8, dont care much for speakers as i have an rpha 70 with cardo already.

    • @sportsbikeshop
      @sportsbikeshop  Год назад +1

      Hi, thanks for the kind comment on the reviews and I'm glad they're useful for you. There's not a chin curtain as standard with this helmet, but one is available as an accessory. It's the same as the one from the N87 and is available here... www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/349688. There's no breath deflector as standard, and no accessory available. I think helmet manufacturers have an end price in mind when they create a new model, because many people have a threshold (say £150) when deciding which helmet to buy. Fitting a breath deflector and/or chin curtain would have added £10-£20 to the final price and they feel that would put too many off I guess. Some ditch Pinlocks, or anti-fog coatings on sun visors, to hit a target cost. Nolan keep those but ditch the deflectors. I hope that helps, and I hope you find what you're looking for. Cheers, Tony

    What I hate about this helmet is that is doesn't have the mesh lining under the chin, they saved money on this little but useful thing!

    would be nice to know how noisy it is

    • @sportsbikeshop
      @sportsbikeshop  2 года назад +2

      It's too tricky a route to go down as helmet noise is created by so many other factors. Something that's quiet for me could be very noisy for you, and vice versa. When a helmet has been around a while, we can scour the customer reviews for a general feel over noise, but this helmet was a brand new model at the time we did this review. Thanks for getting in touch. Cheers, Tony

    • @Tehjubjub

      Very noisy, especially if you have a commuter or touring screen that deflects up to your shoulders. Wind gets in under the open front as there is no chin seal.
