    I think it’s important to recognise Helen’s privilege and it’s okay if you don’t have the funds/ hours of time free like Helen does to be able to dedicate to this lifestyle. Well done her for the dedication but don’t compare your non influencer life to this

      @@katiegaffney8939personal training, boot camp and boxing sessions every week would be pretty pricey altogether per month. Not all might be able to afford that and have the time to dedicate, commenter just giving a bit of a boost to anyone who might be comparing themselves or feeling like Helen’s routine is what they should also be following.

      Also if you work a full-time job, sometimes you're too tired when your finished with work to want to do anything, let alone workout. Even on days off, I'm too tired to do much. I always compare myself, so this comment made me feel less guilty. Thank you.

    • @pistachioonut6683

      @NikkiLove9022 this isn't a personal attack, but maybe feel a little bit bad. I'm sorry but people make too many excuses as to why they can't prioritise their health. Weight loss aside, being physically active on a constant basis is SO important.
      You don't need to go to the gym or classes. Walking is free. Running is free. You can buy weight for at home workouts. You're tired after work? Exercise first thing in the morning.
      You don't have the time? If you're watching hours of tv a week, scrolling through social media or playing video games then you have time to be physically active a few times a week. You just have to decided what's important to you.

    It’s important to note that the ADHD medication could have aided the weight loss. Unmediated, ADHD can make people crave food especially junk food for a dopamine fix. The meds can stop this urge and stop binging. I don’t know if this happened to Helen or not but it’s worth noting.

    • @mediocreMayme
      @mediocreMayme 11 месяцев назад +1

      Came here to say this. I started meds in June and I’ve like like 2 stone with zero lifestyle changes. Urge to binge completely gone. Appetite greatly reduced.
      I’m only losing weight because I’m already overweight, I don’t track calories but think overall I’m eating enough to maintain a healthy weight when I hit it 😂😂

Keep up the good work.👍 Within the last 10yrs I became a gym bunny too to assist with both losing weight and for the positive mental health benefits as well as other benefits (in terms of strengthening). Unfortunately however, I gained a shoulder injury whilst working with weights. After a scan the doctor says I have frozen shoulder and a year on I still suffer. I continue going to gym classes but now have to use much lighter weights (with probably less benefit). So, word of warning, be careful. I was careful but it still happened to me!! 😆

    I know you said you are having about 1400 or 1500 calories a day but do you eat more when you exercise? To my understanding say 1400 is eaten a day and you burn 600 calories exercise that a net calorie input of 800 and thats like a deficit of 1200 if 2000 was maintence calories. Just hope you arent undereating and make yourself ill is all.

    • @BethVonBlack
      @BethVonBlack Год назад +2

      A person of Helen's (and mine) height would not have a maintenance of 2000 calories, people seem to forget (or not understand) that short people require fewer calories.

    • @nickypaul
      @nickypaul Год назад +1

      @@BethVonBlack I did not forget. I said "if" and used that maintenance calorie amount as an example to show how small the net calorie amount would be. Lower than 1200 net calories a day is not medically recommended in alot of cases. So for example if someone's calories intake is 1500 and they burn 600/800 calories. That is still a net calorie amount of 900 at a minimum that is very low even for a short person.

    • @helenanderz
      @helenanderz  11 месяцев назад +2

      I eat 1400 calories a day even if I’m exercising, I will however have a little more over the weekend . Or if I do a big hike and burn let’s say 1000 calories I’ll have a couple of beers and chips etc 😂😂

      @itsunreliable As a petite 5'2" a 20% deficit for me is 1500 calories. My TDEE (aka maintenance cals) is just over 1800 cals. Petite women naturally have to eat fewer calories than someone of average or above average height - our bodies simply don't burn (or require) as many calories than someone taller, therefore, 1400 is perfectly acceptable.

    • @helenanderz
      @helenanderz  Год назад +62

      Why does this keep coming up? Is it so hard to comprehend that weight-loss actually comes from consistency and hard work? In the past I was not consistent and would yo yo all the time. But I've stuck to this way of living since January. Adhd meds made me loose my appetite for only about 2-3 weeks, and I actually haven't been on them for the past two months due to a nationwide shortage. The implication that it's my meds that is making me loose weight is undermining and devaluing the hard work I have put in this year and I find it pretty insulting tbh.
