Thanks !! Love to hear that I could help! I was also doing experiments as this was the first time to do road dirt weathering and glad it works out ok. Will surely to use it on my of my future race car builds .😀
@@henschelporsche1 Well it definitely worked out perfectly will definitely try your weathering technique on a future build. What airbrush and mm nozzle did you use for the weathering?
Nice build! Can't agree with your comment about the Meng kit, though. Despite it's failings, the Trumpeter has a far more accurate representation of the bodywork than the Meng.
Thanks! I actually didn’t have a Meng’s version to compare but mainly through the pics and their manual. I think there are good and bad things on both kits but with the trumpeter affordable price it surely beats Meng for a modeller’s point of view. I didn’t know what’s wrong with Meng bodywork, can you elaborate?
@@henschelporsche1 Firstly, the Meng front clamshell is completely wrong. In side elevation, the curvature over the wheels is far too swoopy and cartoon like. The headlights are wrong and look to be based on a modern Ford GT. The centre cockpit area is also wrong with A pillars that are too thick. In my mind, it looks like the centre section of a Porsche 904. Check out period photos and you'll see what I mean.
Thanks for the information, I think I made the right decision, so how I find Meng products are a bit overpriced with their quality, not to mention the finished colour version that are selling for a grand.
Thanks? I had hesitation when applying the dirt on a perfectly shine car body thinking it would ruin everything. But I think it turns out much nicer than leaving it clean. It certainly gives the car a character and its age.
Thanks! Yes quite a few issues as mentioned in my videos. Mainly the fit and warp after painted/ cleared , the quality of the decals especially the tire ones, the inaccuracy of the parts, the fragile hinges of the rear cowl- but even all that you have to love their price😂!!
I strongly disagree that race cars should never be cleaned. After a race it is important to clean the race car in order to better inspect the car fordamage. That said the weathering job is more suited to model railroading than model car building.
That is by far the most realistic weathering Ive seen on a car model, brilliant!
Amazing results, weathering looks really, really good!
Nice work. May I ask the ratio of the blue paint is 95% Mr Hobby 323 blue to 5% white?
Fab Fab Fab ... I just wish I could own a finished model like yours ...
Absolut great work!!!!!
Thanks for your compliment, I am just ok and not as great as other master builders, still learning😄
Amazing work
Wonderful job. Nice weathering, realistic. Nice technique.
Thanks!
Outstanding, I absolutely love this build and you’ve taught me some techniques!

Fantastic result. Very inspiring.
What a great build, wish I could come close. Have a weathered 1:18, also very nice. 👍🏻
Not an easy kit to build but the price can compensate its shortfall 😏

Lovin the look. It makes a great change to see a car that feels as if it's been raced hard n covered with oil n grim. Which airbrush do you use?

The airbrush I used for dirt was iwata Hi-Line HP-BH
Fantastic build I have this kit that I’m going to start soon I think I will keep mine clean did you have any issues with the build

now build the Meng
