These Oliveira-Serral games are right up there with the Clem-Serral games in terms of best ZvT games of all time. The skill level is insane. 1:17:00-1:18:00 What an utterly ridiculous hold by Serral! His army was severely outmatched, he makes the call to cut off reinforcements which helps cut off the army just long enough for him to get something together, then the moment his lings on the other side dies, he moves in. "the helions to protect the siege tanks" could almost be Oliveira's tagline. Its like byun "picks up ... and heads to the main". If you recall his world championship run, this move is what clinched his victories in several important matches. He's a lot more dynamic than that obviously, but when his tactical gameplay is on point its these little things that wins him games.

First of all let me state that Maru played horribly during the Finals and Serral was still playing like the best player in the world that he is. Now onto the reason why Maru lost so quickly. -It's like 4am Korean time during the finals so maybe Maru is not used to the timezone change. Remember most of the player Maru beat during this tournament is also Korean. -Maru had always known to have inferior tactics compare to Serral, most of the game Serral beat Maru, he beat Maru with superior build order, Serral didn't even have to do anything too fancy. -Maru clearly choked both game 3 and game 4, which bring me to my point where i don't think Maru is a very tough player mentally. He performs just fine when he is ahead but he can't play well when he is behind.

I feel like he probably didn't prepare for this specific series as apparently him and Olivera are training partners right now, I won't take anything away from olivera given how this tournament played out and how serral played against another opponent after this, it feels like it was more of a warmup series. Won't spoil who and what the result was of course but if you watched it you know who.
@@displacedicon7643 I watched it. Hell of a series. Oliveras decision making was so clean. I thankful that he is becoming such a player. I mean you expect a 3:0 or 3:1 for serral with ease and then you get such a series. I mean the last game was an epic final. Better then being at the cinema.
@@pnnnnnnnnnn1234 Yeah, its good seeing Olivera somewhat take his place as a potential winner in more tournaments been waiting on it since his 2023 run. I think his practice matches with Serral are paying off given this result it feels like he's already closing in on the best tvz right now.
@@displacedicon7643 If a Terran and a Zerg are training partners, that favors the Zerg if they have to play against each other in tournament.
I so want to see serral do BW Zerg (from the starcraft mod) and be gross with devours.
Serral's "one spine" defence is so strong for the first terran push ! It's standart for him nowdays
"The queens are taking a pounding, but they're used to it" - I feel seen 😆
Yeah man, you made my day a little bit better. Thanks for the great content. :D
The skill in this game was truly representative of a final.
Serral played game 3so damn well. It would be so easy to get frustrated and incidentally throw that game as Zerg. Also, Oliveira's 8 rax timings are so damn good! The mind games going into that game 5 were insane. Does he go for the 8 rax timing one more time, knowing that it basically won him 2 games, but Serral might be expecting it, or does he go for a longer game, trying to capitalize on Serral trying to stop the 8 rax timing? GG's WP Oliveira!
this should have been the finals match. :c
Lucky Winter. Every other creator would be blocked with such a title. And thank you for your cast.
Winter hates sharing screen time, that's why we've never gotten to see Jimmy
These matches are more exiciting than the final one vs maru. :)
Amazing series! Thank you for the video, i subscribed. :D
game 3 is just incredible, oliveira did so well to fight it back
Winter is my new favorite caster. The color in these casts is off the charts. I lol at every single fucking game.
I really thought Tastosis couldn't be beat. But Winter has me coming back for more every goddamn night and I swear he's even better.
NOOOO BRENDA
Let's Go Love Winter casting SC2
We missed Serral!
Outstanding series🎉 Tense all the way through the last minutes.
I want this fp pov from both sides SO BAD!
Thank you Oliveria and Serral for such a phenomenon performance.
For the Normal Man against the Greatest SC2 Accountant ... I don't care how dirty Oliveira's strats are, he can go mass widow mine ghost every game, I'm still always going to root for him to triumph!
Damn... Oliveira really looking like the true Protagonist of SC2 - making the greatest god of SC2 bleed twice and sweat twice... By the end of the year I think he'll take a series off of serral I'd bet on it
After 4:0 final. I rewatched this one and treated this one as final!
The most professional sc2 indeed
this was one hell of a match up!
Reapers reminding Queens they could once fly 🥺the emotional damage built up through the match.
StarCraft is real time chess when the players are this good.
this series was amazing
I’d def be interested in the first person breakdown you suggested!
Same
How has Serral been so dominate, we need a documentary on him
I dont know wtf maru was doing in the finals...
It's like he's not even trying in some series.
Yea he played waaay better in the semis
He played terran that what he did, losing from the selection screen
@@teddanville6996 That time difference applies to both Serral and Maru, but might ofc affect some more than others.
@@teddanville6996 Just to know, what's your rank ingame 1v1 ?
35:19
Winter making the save of the century 😂
You can tell he's gotten pretty darn good at this whole casting thing :P
You are on it bro, way to get this in early
A fantastic match and a fantastic casting. A1 content as always.
Thank you for all those time with us
"He's got 2 2 on the way" Kendrick would be proud
Everyone else: Zerg is kind of under powered.
Serral: I'm going to beat this guy with tier 1 zerg units and 3 vipers.
Nobody thinks zerg is underpowered
Who says Zerg is underpowered? It's Protoss that people usually think of as underpowered.
Nerfing ZERG CAUSE of serral is like not allowing shoes when running Cause of Usain bolt.. it's just crazy
Does anybody really think that zerg is underpowered?
@@Howwasyourdaysir Yep they do....despite being the strongest race.
Magnificent match ! and a great cast, thx winter
Serral never disappoints :D
Oliveira's run in 2023 Katowice is remarkable. We expect Serral to not lose a single map, yet here we are.
never played starcraft it looks so hard but i like watching the high level stuff, and the Brenda lore
Insaaane games. Great cast. Serral adapts very well. I feel like Oliveira needs another strat to rotate in. If Serral knows what's coming I don't think it's beating him.
I was actually planning on skipping this to watch the IEM Dallas, but i came back to see the score was 2-2 so i had to stay
I actually like that version...
"Everyone has a plan until they get zerged in the base."
I know that's not how you said it. But it's how I said it, and it's now something I will always say.
amazing set
-
i feel so bad for Oliveira in game 3. I can't imagine he didn't intend for the ghosts to be there in that critical fight.
Geez, those first 2 games were intense! I'll finish the rest later.
Winter watch everyday keep it up man
1st person serral breakdown would be amazing
I rarely like videos on youtube, but your like begging gets me every time. Liked!
I really miss Serral since hes been gone
“That’s pretty meta, Brenda” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣💀
@WinterStarcraft first person technique breakdown series on top ten players incoming ftw
Oliveira just climbs back to his legendary throne !!!
