BIODEX regulated the following relevant bacteria in organic wastes:
1. Methane producing bacteria: Methane is a flammable, explosive, & powerful greenhouse gas.
2. Ammonia producing bacteria: Ammonia is harmful to the respiratory health of humans and livestock, and can be toxic at certain levels.
3.Sulfur reducing bacteria: Produce hydrogen sulfide, which is harmful to the respiratory health of humans and livestock, and can be toxic at certain levels.
4.Denitrifying bacteria: Reduce the essential nutrient, nitrate, to nitrogen gas.
5. Sacharolytic aerobic bacteria: Produce carbon dioxide, a major greenhouse gas.
