What's the difference pumping technique on different size high aspect foil, like Ha 580 and ha 1080? Does the smaller sized HA needs to pump deeper than the bigger size?
Generally, a smaller foil needs a lighter touch, more precision (foot placement) and greater speed. As a rule of thumb, bigger foils (up to a point- when they are too big for your weight they become cumbersome) are easier to pump but harder to turn.
Really appreciated this tutorial! I just want to ask if having longer limbs helps and is more likely to be an advantage to creating more speed so that you can go faster and longer ride?
For pumping I like to have a fast efficient tail so I go for the 178. You have to be a bit lighter footed but it’s way more efficient. Hope that helps.
Crazy! At what rider weight approximately? How does it stand in comparison to for example f-one Jam or Gong Sirus dedicated to pumping that are even twice as large?
many good points ... learning to pump with the foil drive ... any drills you can think of to learn unweighting? on land?
Doing box jumps helped me. That and I do lots of squats as part of my workout which helps.
Nice, I can listen to Gav all day
You and me both!

@@hydrofoilacademy You mean, smaller sized foil requires smaller push to the water? How about bigger sized foil, requires a bigger push also?

That’s a good question, I’ve not thought about that. I can’t imagine it has that much of an impact other than more swinging momentum (your arms).
@@hydrofoilacademyBut I think it will help with foiling. Just like jumping on land, the longer your legs are the more power you gain to jump further?
Well done guys, really helpful! 👍👍👍
Glad it was helpful!
Only the back heel raising?
Yes, leave the front door planted and the back heal (of the back foot) to rise up.
How does f one sk8 compare for pump, turning and glide to the north and lift in the video? Cheers
The Lift 150x is the foil I was using most in this video. It's superior to the SK8 in my opinion. I absolutely love that foil!
Which tale you can suggest for North? S215 or High aspect will work ? I have 208 , 178, 270

Great video - thank you
Glad you enjoyed it
950cm foil for pumpjng? I assume this is a setup for pros
We are talking about the 930SF wing from north. This is easy to pump, despite it's size.

8:36 Конечно это дает импульс! 🤷♂️
thanks
