Thank you Matt, this was a very helpful video. Still can’t decide between the DMC 6 and the 4. Like everybody else that’s commented, I’m also very interested in he release of the software editor and ability to save presets to the computer and organize and load different setlists to the DMC as needed. Patiently waiting 😎
I am having problems getting my mission expression pedal to work with my dmc6 3rd gen.It was working before I rearranged my board.Could you possibly give some troubleshooting tips for this issue? It's controlling a timeline and a big sky.The only things that I moved where the expression pedal and the dmc6.Please help!I never could get my expander switch working. The expression pedal is my main concern. Thanks for your consideration.
So the Save button if you hit it quickly and let go, it banks up and the tap button banks down? If you hold the save button a little longer it is a saves? How do you tap without it banking down?
Hey Matt, could you make a video of a dmc6/8 working with a dpc8ez? I want to see how they work together for the presets A,B,C,D not just the banks. Thanks
Can you connect DMC6 to the PC/Mac and do the same? This amount of button clicking gives me anxiety, I can't remember dis, but I really wwant to buy DMC6/4
Hi ive just bought dmc 8 gen 3. And its very cool device to control my 3 strymon... mobius, timeline and bigsky. But ive notice that at preset D... when you tap A device got 4 led light? But ive only got 3 midi connected. Can help me out. Cheers
is there a way to save all presets onto a computer to then store and bring up in the order load in later when needed? Basically making custom setlist that I can pull from right from the computer to the device? Thanks for your time!
Matthew Farrow oh ok awesome. So do you need the editor in order to reload the presets in a desired order? Also, when would you say the editor will be released ? Thanks so much for the quick reply. I can't wait to get my hands on one of these.
Got two more questions for ya. Does this work with the Voodoo labs HEX? Also, when choosing presets on a midi device such as the mobius through the dmc6, do you have to select the preset while it's showing the bank number, or can i hit the encoder to see the preset name on the device rather than only a bank number while choosing through the dmc6?
I'm interested in the strymon control options of this pedal, but I occasionally want the controller on my board to control MainStage. (I'm currently using one mode of the Looptimus.) Can I put the DMC-6 into a mode the would send 6 midi notes one from each of the 6 buttons and the value from a connected expression pedal? (To clarify, I would be looking for a midi note mode that would be ignored by the connected strymon pedals.)
I just received my DMC-8 Gen3. Holding Access/D does nothing :-/ I also set devices C and D to be midi notes and general midi and I'm seeing no midi data passing to my computer. HELP!
Thanks for the video. I'm trying to find something that control 3 Chase bliss pedals, one being the new blooper (looping station). Id like to be able to setup a dedicated footswitch to record, stop, undo, and redo. Would the dmc6 handle that plus CC 2 other pedals?
Still have yet to find anything on using the clocking output. I’ve been scowering the manual and the internet to find how to save tempos to my presets. Nothing. Also, is the set list option for the 3 and 4 coming to the 6?
Hi, can you tweak knobs pedal as you play or do the pedals settings are stucked the way you saved them? Also can it handle the Flint from Strymon. By the way, this looks awesome.
Awesome video. Super helpful! In addition to sending the PC commands in Device mode, can you also send a corresponding CC command? Asking for a friend...
@@jlee2025 the roller on the side can send expression via CC as well as a few other functions. You can send a CC message from the DMC, it sends one for you to control bypass / engage and then you have the option to use an expression pedal etc. on the rear jacks.
Yes! When you save a preset the entire state of the controller is recalled. Whatever loops are on when you save will activate when you load a preset, and the same is true with the MIDI programs!
Thanks! Got everything working! Had issues with the Chase Bliss but I think it was b/c it was in Loop1... I would love to see a QUICK TIP video with the DPC 5 :)
Hey Matt, thanks for all your help so far, I'm finally making progress on the dmc6! Here's my main goal that I haven't been able to figure out -> I have a ditto x4 synced with ableton via midi USB. Is it possible to control 3 Chase Bliss pedals simultaneously using tap tempo? This would be a separate tempo from the midi going to the ditto looper (I want to be able to simultaneously feel my cb pedals a different tempo) Plz lmk if this is possible! Thanks again!
Ok so I did all that and no luck. As soon as I leave setup up I press tap and nothing happens with the pedals. What should USB be? I tried both and no luck. Am I missing anything else?
I'm using the chase bliss cables from y'all, just arrived today. I'm using the dip switch settings yall gave me. I've been trying email... trying my best to figure this thing out, trying not to get frustrated, I'm a beginner with this stuff and I can seem to find many accessible resources aside from these vids
@@stevechance4422 We could no longer get the specific enclosure it requires. There are similarly-sized ones available but they have a mounting screw in the middle of the back panel where the logic board needs to go.
I am having issues getting the fave programed using the expander switch on my dmc6 gen 3.The expander switch worked with the dmc6 gen2.I have followed the steps in the manual to no avail. Not sure what I could be doing wrong.
@@stevechance4422 it's pretty straightforward - plug into jack 2 (white,) make sure the DIP switches are set correctly (ON-ON-ON-OFF) and that the jack is configured for FAV2. Then use the device or preset modes to select a sound you want to favourite. Hold down one of the buttons on the expander switch to save that sound to the fave setting. Also make sure you're on the latest firmware as some of the old versions didn't correctly support the double switch in the white jack.
This is another example of just how poor this companies support is. Here is a question for you Matt: exactly how is it that I know what I want the mix of my device to be set at prior to storing it as a preset if I can't hear it before I store it as a preset. You are all over the map with your explanations, could you please try to focus on one item at a time, drill down on it and then move on to the next item.
Hi there! I'm sorry you feel this video isn't helpful, but I'm afraid I don't understand your question. The mix levels are set on your devices and you should be able to hear the audio from them while you're tweaking. The MIDI controller then accesses the presets you've already edited on your devices. I hope that makes sense but if you're still having issues then feel free to reach out to us directly using the contact form on the website. We'll be happy to help in any way we can.
I think that this tutorial assumes that the user knows anything about the LED display.... It's impossible to follow this guy because he doesn't lay out any of the basic control information from the start. His communication style is all scattered. Please find someone who is a better communicator to do your next video.

How use the smart clock on DMC6 gen 3 plz. Haven't been able to figure it out, seeing it in video would help a lot!
Can't see the display on your DMC6. I just got DMC8 and I sure could use some instructions from the beginning with a Boss RC5.

What device would be best to control mobius, timeliness, and bigsky? Also is it possible to set tempo using switcher?
Hi do you have any support for dmc-8 gen 2? Thanks
How do I get the dmc 8 gen 3 to connect to the mooer ocean machine?
I hope you can create more video for dmc 8 demo not 6... and how other connection work as sample. Especially the tap Fave and Looper C.

Yes, you can tweak anything on your pedals. If you like the way it sounds just save those changes on your pedals and you're good to go.
Any chance you guys would ever release some PC/Mac software to make all these changes lot more convenient?
Yesss! Definitely would love to see this!

64 banks of 4 presets each, total of 256 presets.

How many presets can you make?
Matthew Farrow you can make that many presets on the midi controller?
Is there a timeframe on the release of the editor software?
Do you still sell the dmc6?
No, it's been discontinued.
Is there a specific reason it was discontinued??I just bought a used one.
