Ohhhhhh
That framed Crest of a Knave picture is fantastic!
I always hear echoes of House of The Rising Sun in this song. Thank you, good Sir!
That's interesting. There is a Jethro Tull song that very much reminds me of House of the Rising Sun - but it is Black Satin Dancer. The chords progression of the opening and middle section riff suggests it to me
Bravissimo steward, grande interpretazione
Awsome job once again Thanks
I almost prefer this version to the original one. The acoustic set points out the beauty of the chords progression. And brought me in the years when my love for JT was young (I begun to listen to Ian in 1988), and so strong to be exited since weeks before the release of a new album (and I knew the news by "A New Day" magazine, since there was no internet back at the time.
Great cover, Stewart. I was looking forward to hearing your notes at the end, but the video ended just as you said “a couple of musical things.” What was the rest? I’m on the edge of my seat.
Apologies Paul. Now uploaded as a bonus short
I don’t understand why Catfish Rising doesn’t get more love. While there are a couple of songs that just are so-so, there are some true gems on this album - “When Jesus Came to Play” is one of them.
Another great version. I remember when you had less than 100 subscribers!
outstanding Sir
Simply brilliant! What else is new..... Everything you play has such an edge to it. Really makes it enjoyable.
Thanks Stewart ✌🏼🙏🏼
One of music's great riffs and you nailed it brilliantly Stewart, now i need to nail on part 2 for the always wonderful explanations.👍
I saw them on the tour for that album. Seems like ages ago. Very well done sir. Thank you.👍
Icing on my Tull cake tonight! Earlier this evening I was telling someone about this channel at a Martin Barre Band (acoustic) show where they did a couple similarly bluesy numbers. Great job as always, Stewart - Thank you.
Brilliant cover! Thank you for sharing your talent.
Wow! I'm always glad to hear from you, dear Stewart 🥰! Hope you're staying safe 🥰
This is great! I really enjoyed your introduction to the song and your performance of it! I've not heard the song before so that was another terrific bonus!
Ooops! Your musical comments (which I enjoy so much) aren't there. The video stops at 05:30
Yeah my apologies. I’ve uploaded the comments as a short appendix. Thanks
get martin to play met him twice great guy
awesome, but it cut off at the end and I was really interested to hear your points.
You were going to tell a couple of musical things at the end. But it cut off and just ended and we didn't get to hear them.
Thanks. I added a short video with the remarks - you can find it next to this one on my channel
@DailySporran Thanks I found it. I just saw Martin Barre last night in largo florida. It was truly an amazing show. Such a great song selection, and their talent is just off the charts. If you haven't seen them, hope you get the chance. It's like seeing the very early Jethro Tull.
good job but it cuts off early
Yeah my apologies. I’ve uploaded the comments as a short appendix.
Noooooo….missed the couple of musical things!
Apologies Glenn. Now uploaded as a short supplementary extra....
