Am retiring next year but the thought of retirement gives me weakness. My apologies to everyone who have retired and filing social security during this time after putting in all those years of work just to lose everything to a problem you never imagined to happen. It's so difficult for people who are retired and have no savings or loved ones to fall back on
Retirement is more challenging now than it used to be. I've focused on saving rather than investing, and currently, I have about $400K. With inflation on the rise, I'm considering investing in stocks, but I'm not familiar with effective market strategies.
Planning ahead can really minimize taxes! I've made a smart reinvestments, especially with some great guidance from a pro for a half year now, and it's been a game changer. I was able to reinvest my RMD strategically, and I'm now pulling in about $25k a week, despite doing very little trading myself. It's a nice cushion against financial stress. Best of luck with your RMD decisions!
I really appreciate your transparency about the number of businesses you’ve started, how many failed, and your determination to keep trying. It was very encouraging to see that failure really is part of the journey on your way to success. The entrepreneurship journey can be lonely at times, but it’s so important to accept that and to keep moving forward.
I buy trailers of all types from whomever and then I either repair them, or modify them, and flip them. In the course of doing this, I have acquired five mini homes, and paid for all of them by flipping other ones which I was able to fix up. I currently have several boat trailers, utility trailers, as well as a lot of parts for sale on the Facebook market place. I have my five small mini homes on a piece of property which has just 10 RV spots which I rent year round to travelers, and I also have a storage area for people to park boats, cars, RV’s, and the like as well as I bought five connex containers that I also rent out. All in all it all pays me about 12k per month clear profit. Total value of everything is now over 500K of which is now free and clear. I did all of this just by doing what this RUclipsr said, I just tried it, refined it and failed until it all retired me from the daily grind. Next up, I want to learn to use generative AI to build hundreds of small sites to try and make online money. I came here for possible ideas and maybe help. Inspiration can be found everywhere if you are willing to look.
Wow dude, you and I have walked the same path for the past 20 years. Trying stuff, some works, most don't, but you keep trying. I love the term 'Try-apreneur'. You've had more success than I have, but you've tried more stuff than I have so you've inspired me to keep trying. You never truly fail anything until you stop trying it. Great video man. Keep it up, there are lots of guys like us on different levels.
I loved this video, mainly because it's so realistic and encouraging. I've been self employed since 2019, from a job I started as a hobby (medical writing). I've tried so many other ideas, and the majority have failed, but like you I've had the 5% of ideas that have carried me through. It's easy to forget that as an entrepreneur because failure becomes a regular part of your work, which wouldn't go over well in the corporate world.
I do not usually comment on youtube videos but I have to say; This video has the best advice on starting a business that I have ever heard. If you are not motivated by this video to try out one of your ideas, the business world is probably not for you. My hats off to you Mr. Niche Pursuits, I'm beginning my tryapreneur journey today!
Great video of 'real world' business experience! I have been at this for a while and have had a few little wins and losses. My biggest issue is always being afraid to jump into something and giving it 6+ months of commitment, in fear of (FOMO) wasting 6 months of my time going in the wrong direction. I recently made a decision to go all in on 2 things for the next 6 months that I feel will become a win for me. Thanks for the inspiration!
What a brilliant video, thanks for making it. I unexpectedly had my contract terminated before Xmas, but instead of feeling upset I was excited because there's so much I want to do. I felt a bit guilty before that I had lots of ideas because you keep getting told to focus on one thing, but it's fine to try things out. Thanks from London, UK. And I remember Long Tail Pro! I'm sure it subconsciously helped me to niche down into my paid employment for so many years!

Great question, and that varies a lot by business model. However in general I would recommend a budget and timeline you are willing to invest in an idea. Maybe that's $5,000 and 6 months for example. If you aren't seeing traction when you hit your "budgets" maybe it's time to move on.
