*those days are PROBABLY long gone, behind me* 😂
Haha. And maybe not. The way things are going
I felt that one…
I'm nearly 30 years out, I love the Hyve for helping me get back up to speed.
This is why I like the McClean sling. It has a really nice admin mode to solve a lot of these issues. Good Stuff, Thanks for the videos and your service.
Thanks for showing the evolution. I love the magnets idea. Thanks for sharing your experience. Great Video!!!
There’s never really been videos on weapon catches and their use in the teams. Thanks!
Impressed with Dorr's presentation skills
Nice little video thnx. i DIY'ed this thing, using in in my service, and never knew it was a thing in the US military. Cool to know! i really like you and coach talking about old days, comparisons of old stuff vs new stuff and how things changed and developed.
Excellent information Dorr. Thanks
Thanks Dorr,. Great lesson
Good tips, back in the early 1990s we used a weapons catch made by Blackhawk, it worked but we wound up using simple bungee cords hooked onto our PCs, it was less bulky and only cost a few dollars.
Pretty good video. Lots to think about since I run the MDRX. I’ve been happy with just using a sling since it’s smaller than every other rifle I’ve been issued. I’ll have to think about adding the retention strap for carrying with the Flux.
Hey thank ya much for this video as I have one of those but now seeing how yours is located shows me a much better placement for mine 🇺🇸👍.
Another job well done boys
Fantastic. Very helpful, thanks
Relentless indeed. Good stuff brother
Never knew there was those type devices. Thanks
I've recently seen these kinds of kit videos resurface and was wondering about magnets. I wish there was a even closer and slower footage of the release pull you had.
Outstanding
This is what i have been looking for
Thanks for sharing
Awesome 👍
Awesome videos.
thanks!
Loved the vid would like to see how specialty equipment was carried and distributed and will coach be back?? Missing his tales!
SWEET! NO ONE TALKS OF THIS IMPORTANT STUFF!
Navy SEAL Dorr does an excellent job explaining weapon retention techniques and options. I learned a lot from this video and can’t wait to try out some of these techniques.
Great body, thanks for the tip. What are some good helo lanyards you would recommend?
This was a interesting pov of a method of how operators went about their gear they found themselves doing on the job
I prefer a single point sling hooked to the right shoulder of my plate carrier.
This allows me to use both hands by simply allowing the weapon to hang from my shoulder and it points down at the ground. The weapon can't be taken from me or pointed at me while it's hooked to the carrier. If I'm being body dragged by the handle on my armor then my weapon stays with me. The weapon can also be used one handed using the sling as second point of contact if my left hand or arm is hit. The sling connects to the weapon with a QD mount and can be dismounted with the simple push of a button.
It took me a while to figure this out because almost everyone uses two point slings, but now that I have it the way I want, I can't even imagine using a two point sling.
Great video Dorr. I used one of those belt mounted weapon retention back years ago. Always loved it.
Something cheap and easily available is to use simple bungie straps, much like the helo retention lanyard method you used. Found it worked great for me when I did not run the belt that had the other system
Thanks you for your knowledge and time. Have you ever had gear fail when it was so trusted in the past?
Gear will wear out over time. It’s on you to replace it before it fails. Thx for posting
Interesting. Another item to consider.
if you need to consider - you don't need that item. Because if you were in need, you probably already had it or been in search for some time. those were common enough at the time so it would probably took you 2 days to find out.
Nice
Do you happen to have a rumble channel ? Great content 🤙.
Damn. Coulda used this knowledge when I was EOD.

God bless you veterans
Is your stock adjustable on the rifle you are showing?
Thanks Dorr! :) :us
1st! Let's get it!
Talking about supply. In the 80’s we were buying tools at hardware stores because of supply. Gotta love supply.
Wow
A great American 🎉
Good pointers. What is the 3rd gen clip called?
you can make it yourself for like 5$
Dirty civilian here, I was looking for some ideas for how I would retain a shotgun in my kit with a rifle this is the only one that was helpful so far.
because this is the only work way lol. just talk to guy who were in the army, you do not need fancy stuff, they will tell you hot to DIY or use this cheap methods.
I remember one of the SF guys saying that you don't want your riffle hitched muzzle down cause when you are up on a ladder you are pointing it at your buddy's face below.
What about the guy above you on the ladder?🤔
Great video! Also in what scenario would you store your primary like that? When you are hiking out to a target or doing some sort of manual labor in a non-permissive environment?
Breaching, climbing, roping, prisoner handling. Any time you needed too.
I'd like to train close-quarters hand-to-hand weapon deployment. How do you safely deploy your weapon in the clinch... against a an opponent who knows how to stop you from deploying it? We already train weapon retention (keeping your weapon) and weapon ejection (removing the weapon from the situation) and weapon deplyoment impedance or WDI (stopping the other guy from getting his weapon out) but we don't study counter-WDI techniques. I think we should though.
Wait, who's this "we"? I hear you ask... uh, it's myself and my classmates at the traditional jujitsu dojo I attend.
👍👍
What is the hat system you are wearing in this video?
Question. Is it viable for civilians to have plates?
if you can be shot. or have a lot of "very smart" guys on your shooting range. but in other cases no. its better have 12g, 9mm,.45cal. proof slick vest for a bad neighborhood, the one that is a full old school west, not just plate carrier, than full on 2 nj4 plates.
🙂
Good old soup-ply buying chrome lol
Which is better or special operation lpvo or red dot
When I was around 14 one of my friends carried a Ruger flattop in his Dickies cackies pocket
Boogaloo, boogie, battle rattle, I like to wear my tacti-cool secondary handgun, low hip on my leg, because it looks cool. And the bad guys know a bad ass when they see it.;) I got all my load out from bud K, and came with a free Grim Reaper lighter
But did you remember the skull shaped dropper bottles for your bacon scented CLP?
There is NO way that beard is your real color. lmao Good video though.
It is.

Your comment was 5 minutes to late
Bro, have you seen the State of our country? You time is not past u, guessing you will be needed soon
If you are in a combat type situation, you should have your weapon in your hands at all time or at least slung across your chest in a low ready, if you make contact and have to reach back for your rifle you're already dead!!!
do you understand that you are not alone? and you secure the gun ONLY in situations when you need to do some manual stuff? and they are most of the time not direct combat situations? like carry someone, use cutters, saw. with what asscheak you were listening? left or right?
