SAD OUR KIDS WILL NEVER SEE SOMETHING LIKE THOSE DAYS ! 😥
Ah, the young women of the 1970s!! Halter tops, bell bottom jeans. No bubble butts, no back fat, no spare tires, no thunder thighs. Fit and trim. No tattoos, no face piercings, no pink, orange, or green hair. Just a wholesome, clean, fun-loving lifestyle. SIGH!!!!
You left out string bikinis and mini skirts
Good memories all...
#50 isn't just bellbottoms that's the Runaways.
Yep. I saw Joan Jett on the left. 👍
Yes, you had to make book covers for all of your books out of paper bags at the beginning of the year.
#58 , clothespins
#81 , hated it then , love it now
"Our TV's were never stolen in the 80's" 😅😅😅
I was born in 1968 but my Great Grandmother had these clothes pins or ones very similar. She had a metal bucket full. We got in trouble for throwing them at each other. Tho only about 3” long & with the metal at the top, they flew very well & could leave lil bruise marks! She made us pick them all up & then on our knees facing the wall… it was worth it because we did it again!
ARE THE GOOD TIMES REALLY OVER FOR GOOD? THANK YOU M/H.
I think my generation had it the best. Born in 1961, so early childhood in the 60's, graduated HS in 1979, so spent school years in the 70s and came of age in the 80's. So much freedom and fun!
All that being said, from the comments on here some forget high gas prices, insanely high interest rates, wars, assassinations, a huge crime wave in the 70s which peaked in the 90s before starting to drop, and all the serial killers. We didn't know all the bad stuff, because the media was different and social media didn't exist yet.
Even so, housing was WAAAAAY more affordable back then. And so were autos.
@reesedaniel5835 Housing costs go up and down based on depressions, recessions, supply and damand, and interest rates. Mortgage interest rates were over 18% in 1981, so...
Obesity was an extreme RARITY, usually truly associated with real issues, unlike it is now so just associated with lack of discipline and plain overeating and unhealthy overeating. BUT, you could see its beginnings in the 80s, for sure.
HFCS in soda and the food started about 1980….food supply.
The paper football.
The infamous paper football.
I think I just road in a Time Machine!
Of course the chicks and halter tops are missed as well as their long hair and slim bodies but the merry go round I truly miss. We were fortunate to still have one in 2002 so my kids got the experience. 16:02 is the merry go round...
#80. Is that Farmer’s family playing Hide and Seek?
I used to eat at the first Waffle House in Avondale Estates in high school - it's a museum now. Went to Avondale High School just down the road. Good times.

I was a teenager in the 70's. Now I look like a young grandma 😉
And I fully expect to be around to be a GREAT grandma 😊
Depends on who you are referring to…
Yep, I didn't make
Sorry that 1st pic is from today
Girls that are overweight back then stayed home!!!
And oddly, today, fat chicks rule!
Great job but may I say jazz doesn't go.... rock will :)
The picture with the young girl smoking was weird to me. I don't remember many that smoked. None of the people I hung out with did.
Just experimented with it once in awhile to act cool but it wasn’t a full time thing
Video games killed it
