Great pictures but you are WAAAAAY off on the subtitles...
I'm 55, the son of the photographer. I only have his stories, my memories, these photos and an occasional check on Bill Pratt's Drag List to put some facts to the photos.
If you were there and know something we don't please take a little time to respond and let me know what I got wrong. Everyone would appreciate it I'm sure.
I did have one typo pointed out by someone regarding the Boston Shaker of Kosty Ivanof where I accidentally type Strangler. The Boston Strangler was Arnie Karp.
Great shots of these cars at The Grove. Thanks for the memories.
Thank you for taking the time to let me know that you're enjoying them. Plenty more to come! Be sure to like, share, subscribe and hit the notification bell so you know when I release more.
Maple Grove WOW ... awesome photos of an awesome time !
My Dad worked (and raced) at Maple Grove and always kept his trusty camera around. He snapped a lot of the cool angles and shots from the starting line because of his job he had access. He'd be happy to know more folks are enjoying the memories.
Great quality pics!
Glad you liked them! 👍
70s nhra was great. I like that cars all looked different , now they all look the same.
Couldn't agree more. That's why I'm sharing my Dad's photos. He captured the time well using different angles and settings on his Minolta camera. A lot of the cars had great names. Wish they would have carried that on to the modern era.
FABulus Floppers...
Hi I caught 1 mistake. Kosti Ivonoff ran "The Boston Shaker " F/C.
Thanks! Good catch! Arnie Karp was the driver of the Boston Strangler. Some times the brain and the keyboard aren't in synch!
I'll fact check myself this time...my fingers threw in an extra F. Ivanof is the way he spelled it.
And I forgot how his name was spelled
