    Ever considered using those little magnets that are quite powerful for the size to help hold things in place? Those little ones that are shaped like tiny flat cylinders. Only a beginner at origami but just thinking out loud.

      No idea is a bad one, and yours? Is great! I've been at it for years and never thought of magnets! Reminds me of a breaking bad lightbulb moment! 😁

      I use methyl cellulose for both shaping and double tissue :) spray adhesive works great too but it's messy

      Yes, there are similar products in the US, but they go by different names depending on the manufacturer. Poster putty, mounting putty, fun tack, etc. They are pretty much interchangeable.

      @@FearlessFlourish I live in India and I have never in my whole life seen a single shop with origami grade paper. Every "origami sheet" I've bought from my local art supply stores is cheaply made and not even completely square(a pain in the ass to align diagonal creases)

    Just starting out, but doesn't the use of glue void "origami" and instead make it papercraft?

    • @myztake
      @myztake 3 года назад

      Not much. There are some good origamis that you might need glue, tape, or even scissors

    • @diablo6250
      @diablo6250 3 года назад

      Most advanced origami paper is made with adhesive anyway (and people sometimes just wet it a little to use the adhesive for shaping), it's not really a hard rule to not use glue, plus the model itself didn't use glue, it was just for a better finish :)

    some times I use 2 thin blade puddy knives to crease point to point i get a really precise and tight crease line when needed....i sure ain't near as experienced or skilled as you....young fella.

    wait is blu tack like clay?

  • @origamiandcats6873
    @origamiandcats6873 4 года назад

    The greatest origami investment I've made so far (aside from time) is the purchase of a high quality, large, rotary paper cutter. It cost about 200$ on Amazon.
    You've given me some good ideas. I've been mostly using paperclips but will use various guage wire in the future. I use small binder clips for clamps but the tiny clothes pegs would probably be softer on the paper.
