Thank you for watching!! Indiana has a lot to offer, honestly. Really enjoyed that trip, and hope to spend more time in Indiana! Thanks for watching! God bless!
Thanks for watching! Sounds like you’re a lot more educated on bloodroot and all that a lot more than I am!! And I agree, something special about the woods! Thanks again!
Great video! I have site 5 reserved in late October, using a hammock setup. Your video will help me visualize what to expect! You remind me of myself! Enjoyed tagging along. Thank you!
Thanks for watching! I thought for sure you would have done it! A bit different vibe than the other Indiana hikes I’ve done, but for Northern Indiana, but definitely worth it! Looking forward to getting back to your neighborhood in the Deam Wilderness! Hopefully soon! Thanks again!
Wildlife sightings are always the best part of any hike, especially baby sightings. That would have been really cool to see those coyote pups. Some friends and I are doing a over night hike there this weekend and I'm looking forward to it.
I like your banter while you walkabout the trails! Dessert for Dinner...interesting. Best alarm clock in the world is the sounds of the birds singing! IT is always good to be in the woods!
Yes, you definitely want to play it safe with the water situation. 71 -78 degrees is IDEAL!!! Encountering animals on the trail can definitely be startling. That view by the lake was so beautiful. And I'm glad you stayed back from the baby coyotes. Seems like more and more people are taking pictures of wild baby animals and I always hope they have a very long lens and aren't disturbing them. Really nice hike!
The costs do add up at these smaller parks, but I always look at it from the perspective of funding for the park. It may be silly, but for what I spend on coffee and such, I’m willing to pay the extra few bucks to support local state parks. Keep coming down to Indiana, you are welcome down here!
@@stevemelcher7933 Thanksnfor watching, Steve! I agree with you, actually, and that is definitely the right perspective. And I can’t wait to come back to Indiana! Thanks, again! Happy trails!
I always enjoy your videos. My wife & I backpacked our very first overnighter in 2020 - Bloodroot Trail site# 5. We've been back since, living just 30 minutes away. We've actually stayed at every sit at least once. Site 6 & 5 are our favorites. I saw 9 deer one trip. I've heard coyotes but never seen any so that was cool. We have seen bald eagles over the lake before. It is a nice easy trail and I'm sure we'll be back. But like you mentioned, the $$$ is a bit ridiculous.
What a great trip! very nice weather i have to say.. That Mango sticky rice is interesting for sure lol literally just take a nap in that weather by that lake! the view was great! its way over 100 here and its hell to be outside a fire wouldn't work here but i'm a bit jealous LOL . Really Enjoyed this! HIKE ON! p.s. That sun rise with coffee is always the best moments in trips.
Thank you, Eli! Thanks for watching! Trust me, a nap was strongly considered! While it is definitely getting warmer, it is certainly not Texas heat! So, for that, I can be thankful! Thanks again for watching, my friend!
Nice video! Looks like you had a relaxing time. I've enjoyed your videos ever since I was looking into taking my son to Pictured Rocks and stumbled across your channel, and always appreciated that you don't focus on gear but on experiences instead. However, I'm curious what backpack you're using. It looks really comfortable.
Thank you so much! Really appreciate the support. So, the pack I'm using a 3F UL Gear frameless pack (40L). I was very interested in a frameless pack, but before I took the plunge and spent a chunk of money, I wanted to try out something that was a little more affordable. This is pretty cheap (by comparison to the popular brands) but has performed quite well for me. It's probably a matter of time before I make the plunge and upgrade. That said, frameless packs are a different animal and take a little bit of time to get used to, but definitely have their place. Thanks again for watching!
Very cool! thanks for sharing!

awesome . . . thumbs up 👍🙏💯
Thank you! Thank you very much for watching!
Great, video. We enjoy McCormick Creek. Definitely in our top 10.
Years ago I use to dig bloodroot, yellow root and ginseng to sell. Still love the woods. No trails just follow the sun 😊
Thanks for watching! Sounds like you’re a lot more educated on bloodroot and all that a lot more than I am!! And I agree, something special about the woods! Thanks again!
I camped here the winter before you. Same site, my favorite of all 6. Glad to see you enjoying the local state park!
Thanks for watching!! Definitely a great site! Looking forward to coming back! Thanks again! Cheers!
Well it looks like a nice getaway. Nice weather too. Thanks for sharing.
We’re already going into the 100° range here this next week. Keep on moving!🙌
Thanks, Hashtag! It was a really nice getaway. Thanks for watching! Crossing my fingers that 100 degree days are a long way from here!! Lol!

You need to stop at nicks kitchen in Huntington for best pork tenderloin in Indiana. And don’t forget the pie.
Oh man!! Next time, I absolutely will!! Thanks for watching!
